This review pertains to my "The Club Fix" custom fitting experience at Strawberry Farms in Irvine California on June 13th 2014. I am not reviewing the full set of irons and woods I purchased from The Club Fix because they are not the problem.
I am 49 yrs old, have never taken lessons, play aprroximaely 40-45 rounds a year over the past 15 yrs, and I consistanly shoot boggy golf (low 90's). I researched custom fitters and narrowed it down to 3-4 before deciding on The Club Fix. The first indication of some potential concerns was the moment I showed up at Strawberry Farms in Irvine for my scheduled fitting and the first question from the fitter was "what are we doing today", as in what type of fitting was I there for. When I made the reservation I gave them all of the details about me, my game, and clearly stated that I wanted the full fitting. I even told them the brand of clubs I thought I had the most interest in. I would guess all that information was not provided to my assigned fitter?
The actual fitting experience left me very disappointed. For staters the fitting was not performed as stated on their website, which states a full fitting takes approximately 3 hours. I was leaving the facility only 1 hour and 15 minutes after I got there, so the fitting took about an hour. I was never asked about my putter, my choice of golf balls, all those things they describe on their website. For the most part I had to ask questions to get information, since feedback was not being provided before, during, or after trying various clubs. I was just going through the motions, hence the reason the process went so fast.
I did purchase the recommended Irons and Woods, but at a hefty price, and although I was told a detailed copy of my order and fitting results would be emailed to me right away that didn't happen. I actually left the facility with absolutely nothing because I was told an email containing all details would be sent and I would have it that day. That did not happen and when I contacted them the following day I was told they had the wrong email address for me even though all previous corresponces had been done via email? Keep in mind they had already charged my credit card the full amount before I left their facility. Once the invoice and fitting results were sent to me, two or three days after the fitting, it contained no useful information at all, thus I received zero feedback from the swing monitor they use, and I mean zero. The invoice was an invoice, not a detailed itemized order form.
I requested, on two spearate occasions, to be given notice when the clubs were shipped because I have had packages taken from my home when I am away on work. As long as I give my neighbor a heads-up she will keep an eye out for packages. No notice of pending shipment was ever provided, but here is the biggest reason I could never recommend this company, after sending me the invoice and an excel spreadsheet that I had to ask for twice, I have never heard from The Club Fix at all. Not an email, not a follow-up call, not a thank you for spending $2,550 nothing at all and it's now been 2 months since my fitting. Also, the excel spreadsheet contains useless information that attempts to summerize my fitting, but the fitting was so brief and incomplete the spreadsheet reflects that incompleteness. For me this was not the right choice for a custom club fitting, terrible customer service, and although I do like my new clubs, I really overpaid by a lot and that never feels good. read more
