This is a beautiful venue perfect for small outdoor weddings! I attended a wedding here last night…read moreand it was a beautiful event! However as a guest, there are a couple things I want to point out... First, the ceremony setup. The bride and groom were positioned a couple steps DOWN from the majority of the rows of chairs, meaning if you were in row 4 or beyond, you couldn't see anything. I was in the second to last row and could hardly see anything. My friends in the row behind me (the last row) couldn't see anything. It was just an awkward setup for the guests. The biggest downfall of this place was their lack of restrooms. They have TWO for the entire venue... while I, myself, don't drink alcohol anymore, I'm fully aware of how it creates a constant need for use of the restroom. Many of the guests were enjoying their beers and glasses of wine, so this created long lines at the restrooms. Lastly, the gravel in the front half of the venue was a nightmare for all of us ladies in heels. My strapping stilettos were constantly getting small pebbles up under my toes and it was super uncomfortable. The dance floor and seated area for dinner, however, had turf, which was MUCH more pleasant to walk on. I wish they had this all over the venue grounds instead. Overall, the setup was nice as they had one area for the ceremony, another for cocktail hour, another for dinner/dancing and a small indoor area where the Photo Booth was set up. Additionally, the bridal suite (which I didn't actually see for myself) was upstairs, which gave the bride a birds eye view of the guests as they arrived. Pretty cool! I think a few small adjustments would make this place a five star experience for everyone involved!

Be sure to be careful walking in as the floor is made of loose gravel. Although the venue is beautiful, the summer heat can be brutal. There is not much room for everyone to come into the air conditioned room. Overall, beautiful venue and would recommend it during the cooler months!

Thumbs Up: POST has done an excellent job repurposing Houston's historic Downtown Post Office into…read morea multipurpose destination. Thumbs Up: The rooftop lawn and garden are beautiful and provide a relaxing place to enjoy the city skyline. Thumbs Up: Portions of the rooftop are dedicated to gardens that grow fresh produce, adding a unique touch to the space. Neutral: I wasn't able to determine where the harvested produce ultimately goes. I'm sure the information is available somewhere, but I don't recall seeing it during my visits. Thumbs Up: I can actually see my home from the rooftop. Thumbs Up: I've watched a few rooftop concerts from my balcony. Thumbs Up: As an added bonus, it's always entertaining to hear some of my neighbors complain about the "noise pollution" during HOA meetings. Living Downtown comes with unique advantages and occasional inconveniences. If someone can't tolerate city life, they may be happier living in the suburb provinces. Thumbs Down: Access to the rooftop is sometimes restricted during seasonal events and special art installations. I understand the need for ticketed events, but I wish general access to the public spaces could remain available whenever practical. Thumbs Down: I am able-bodied, but I couldn't help noticing that rooftop access appears difficult for visitors who use wheelchairs or have mobility impairments. The elevators are not easy to locate, and several were out of service during my many visits. Improving accessibility would make this space more welcoming for everyone.

This past weekend I had my baby shower here, at first everything was wonderful. When I viewed the…read morespace to see if it would fit my needs the owner was very nice she let us know all the things that would come with our booking, chairs, tables, food warmers etc. We also discussed the pricing of $100 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours and the option of paying a deposit. Everything seemed great I decided to go with this venue as everything else was way out of our budget being first time young parents. I let her know I wanted to book 4 hours and sent the $300 "refundable" deposit. After this she said thank you then I did not here from her again until I messaged her to confirm the booking and make sure tables and chairs were in order 2 days before. At that point she called me and told me my balance was paid off and asked what tables I preferred and how many chairs. At the time I believed she was giving a discount as I found her through Peerspace but we did not use Peerspace so they wouldn't be taking a portion out. The day of she accommodated our needs and her son was there putting chairs out. The chairs were thrown outside sloppy all going different directions the tables were not the ones I asked for but everything was ok because they were so kind and helpful with everything else and it was a great price. When our reservation was over I called to let her know everything was clean and asked if there was anything else she needed from me she said no. I then sent her $100 as a thank you and because that was the original price we discussed although she said multiple times that "our balance was paid off". Serval hours later she called me and she sounded sketchy and off a vibe I had not gotten from her until this point. she asked if I sent more than $400 because her records only showed $400 I explained to her that she told me the balance was paid off at $300 and I sent the extra to show my gratitude she then said I owed another $100 for the cleaning fee that "my mother in law offered to pay it if I wanted to take her up on that" at this point I was almost in tears because of the stressful day I had and the high of it all going smooth and being over with to the low of feeling like I'm being scammed or tricked. She got an attitude very quickly referring to a contact I had not heard of up until this point. I never was given a contract or told about one the whole booking process was very relaxed and unprofessional looking back. I don't ever want to screw anyone over or not do the right thing so I paid the extra $100 but my last discussion with her was very shady and makes me sad because the experience started off great. I also spoke to my mother in law and she said the owner never mention anything about a $100 cleaning fee or anything about money. The actual space was ok but the owner is shady and I will never recommend this place. Pay the extra couple hundred as this place will probably try to get it out of you and overall they were not professional.

It's a beautiful historic building located in the Heights, and it's a quirky space, with the old truck bays downstairs and a more conventional event space upstairs. The Good: Lovely historic building. Decent parking. Central location. The Bad: Difficult Management. Management is available only on Saturdays from 9-10am. No other times - if you need to measure, plan, or tour the venue, that's when you've got to be there. No rehearsal times are possible, unless you rent the venue again. Management seemed put off after our second visit - we wouldn't have had to come back if their hours were not so brief! Questionable Business Practices. We meticulously cleaned the venue after our event, yet $60 was withheld from our deposit, without explanation. After calling them, the excuse we were given was that there was "water on the floor, probably from someone dragging a garbage can." That costs $60 to fix? All in all, it's a pretty place and inexpensive, but the fact that the lady running the operation is so difficult to work with makes it impossible to recommend the venue.
