The well decorated bar runs along one wall and a large staircase leads to a balcony level overlooking the main bar area, great for people watching. It is a great place to go for pre-club drinks especially with cc's right next door, or even for pre- theatre drinks. Drinks promotions are always on offer. On sunny days, tables and chairs are outside and are even better for people watching. The staff are very friendly and there is always a 'party' atmosphere on evenings and weekends. They play good music and there is karaoke on certain nights as well as other promotions. If you want to have a quiet drink upstairs or out on the street,or even want to get the party started before hitting the clubs then this is the place to come.

We were early on a Saturday night and stopped in b/c I had recognized it from searching gay friendly pubs online. We were very pleased with the bartenders and beer prices and will stop back in before we leave the country. Good mix of people and age groups - friendly staff, good atmosphere. Really good time (minus the one Really drunk guy - but that happens)

Highland Soup: Brilliant presentation served in a cute mason jar. Loved all the Highland vegetables and herbs. Served with the bread and butter, it really felt like a tavern offering weary travelers a hearty meal after a long day on the road. Haggis Bons Bons: The deep fried shell around the haggis along with the chili dipping sauce really upped the game. Helps mitigate issues like a mushy texture and mild spices. Though quite honestly, it could have been deep fried anything at that point. Steak Pie: Lots of pie dough to go against the tender meat and saucy filling. There was extra gravy for good measure. Unfortunately, they were out of mash, so had to get curly fries. But the fries were good when dipped the gravy. Mushy peas on the side were as expected, nothing fancy. Aberdeen Angus Lasagne: Saucy and cheesy, just the way I like it. This is not an Italian restaurant, so isn't a fancy lasagne, but tastes kind homemade. Very comforting.

DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!! If i could give 0 stars I would!! We visited "Klozet"…read moreactually "Kandy" this weekend and were disgusted by the staff and even the customers. The staff serve who they want when they want and will let queues build up so that they can serve, what I assume are their friends, 1st before anyone else. The staff are cheeky to customers and the barstaff don't seem to care about anything but serving themselves drinks 1st, while they sit in the corner getting drunk!! As for there "zero tolerance" policy - well they might want to check the toilets more often because both me and my friend walked into the separate toilets a couple of times to find guys and girls snorting and taking pills which left us feeling quite vulnerable! I can see why the keep changing their name I can only assume its down to all the 1 star reviews they get. This place is a dive, if you want somewhere gay friendly in Dundee try Rewind or Pout instead, give Klozet/Kandy a definate swerve!!

While it happened, another of our friends called over a bouncer and they came over but my friend was rushed out as she was crying and in pain and in no state to talk to anyone. When I spoke to manager, he said there was nothing he could do unless she was here to identify the assaulter. So we came back not even half an hour after the incident occurred , but because she could not see her in the bar, we were told to come back the next day to look at CCTV. We did this (my friend now sporting bruises on her face) and were told that we should have dealt with it last night and there was nothing they could do as the CCTV wouldn't identify her. However, bouncers as well as a bar staff member admitted to seeing her but somehow they couldn't identify her? We understand this is a tricky situation, honestly didn't think they'd be able to do much, but we were treated awfully and the managers were rude and condescending and didn't apologise once and contradicted themselves in their advice to us last night and this morning. They even accused my friend of fighting back which she was in state to do as it wasn't a fight, it was 4 people punching her. The manager explained that they had a zero tolerance policy in the same sentence as saying they wouldn't do anything about it. This is meant to be a zero tolerance and safe space for people to go and instead my friend was the victim of a hate crime that a gay bar has let slide. Wouldn't reccomend going.

From what I hear it's the oldest gay bar in town and it certainly seemed popular with older gents. The clientele were all obviously regulars, and no one seemed very interested in meeting us new kids. Our visit was mostly uneventful, but before we moved on I treated myself to Toilets: The Ride. Yes, the toilet was not fastened securely to the floor which made for some unexpected excitement. It's a lovely bar, with friendly staff, friendly clientele and a good atmosphere. It's one of these bars I always love when I pay a visit - good vibes, good music, good people - as I write this I realise I need to go here more!
