Love this place around Christmas. I believe it was 37.50 ...not sure if that was car load. Anyway here's what u need to know... its way out in the middle of nowhere with lots of curves and animals to watch out for. Didnt see any but with the woods it can happen.. you park in a field so potentially muddy. Its a walk around place so dress accordingly hat, gloves scarf layers ... maybe look into heated vest gloves and or scarf. There are buildings selling things like Christmas ornaments, decorations and food. Bought hot chocolate outside that was barely luke warm. They had porta potties that had awful smell and thankfully didnt need one. Lots of lights and selfie opportunities. Be kind and offer to snap pics for families ... mom always the one taking them and never in them. Lovely huge bonfire to warm up at. Its a pricey place but I think its great. They close early than posted time. I saw some people entering thru the exit. We drove 45 minutes id have been aggravated to get there and not get in when it was at least 30 minutes before closing time. The posted closing time is 9 which seems early. But by 8,:30 they stopped letting people in. They dobtake reservations and give 5 off. No discount for military or veterans Loved the toy train room and the light up arches. There is an outdoor train. You pay extra buy tickets. This is best on nights its not super cold. Definitely not raining or windy. After a rain the mud is real both for walking and parking. Some cars get stuck. The mud everywhere is a huge problem... use some of the profit to invest in gravel and straw to help make this less a show after rain. read more

Disappointing. Costs $37 for a carload. We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes in the car line before parking. The actual village is just muddy walkways and gift shops. The lights themselves are underwhelming and many are not working correctly. There just isn't really anything to do once you're inside. read more

My first impression was how awesome it was to see our grandson's face and hear his excitement when he saw the lights. Once we got up to the actual place it was frustrating that there were no parking places AT ALL for handicapped cars. So ridiculous in this day and age. It was also irritating that you couldn't get to some of the lights to look at them unless you paid to ride a train. The experience with our kids and grandsons made it worth it though. read more

Worst experience ever, had to pay $40 to go to overpriced gift shops. Waited in line for 15 minutes to get a funnel cake and hot chocolate only to be told from the really rude cashier that they did not have any more because they were too busy. But watching everyone else purchasing them. Save your money and go to Kings Island instead. A lot cheaper and you can actually get a funnel cake. read more

This place is pretty cool, but its just a few short tweaks away from being a top destination every year. The whole place is very kid/family oriented, but unfortunately almost everything costs money after you pay to enter. I can understand the train costing extra, but the prices they charged for a picture with Santa were ridiculous. It also seemed strange that there were so many shops filled with all sorts of random objects. I would've liked a few more lights, "light mazes", and areas to view things like the model trains. Overall, it's a cool place to visit, but I think there are better experiences for the money. read more

The train ride was really underwhelming--it just goes in a circle. Overall, it feels like you're paying for very little. Overall this place is cute. They have animals, a bon fire, Santa , several shops, a train and a ton of lights. The place as a whole is completely unorganized. We bought tickets online for 6:30pm though making a time reservation was completely irrelevant. The line of cars to get in meant our 6:30 reservation was truly 7:30pm (no one directing traffic- feel horrible for anyone living in that area). The Santa line was long which is to be expected the pricing though for pictures is just outrageous and they don't give you pricing information until it's time to order which just makes it hard. Not ONE SHOP has a Christmas ornament that says the Christmas Ranch. Everything in the shops there is no different than you could get anywhere which just seems like a big miss. read more

We went there with three kids on Saturday 12/16. First it took bout 30 minutes from the turn in at the ranch to even get to Peking and there was only one set of lights right at the turn off. The place was rundown and dirty. All the shops were focused on selling overpriced junk that no one needs and most of the displays were chipped, missing pieces or not working. We had a great time at the Christmas Ranch and can't believe we weren't aware of such a fun place nearby. We went on a weekday night and there was still a decent crowd, but the wait was not too bad to park. Once inside the lights and music are beautiful oh, the shops are full of interesting Christmas decorations. Service was quick at the cafe and everyone enjoyed they're Burger, Pizza, nachos, funnel cake, roasted almonds, and hot chocolate. We didn't have little ones with us, so we didn't ride the train or hayride but it looked popular and took a route through all the lights. We found the setting and location to be fun and festive! Don't forget to get a pair of 3D glasses at the gift shop to really see the lights in a new way. read more

I hate to be the person to do this but the overall experience I had at The Christmas Ranch was negative. As I entered with 2 kids in the back I am told "OUR SANTA IS NOT IN TODAY HE IS SICK." What the hell, you almost ruined 2 kids childhoods but most of all, ruined their night. Now not to be a light inspector, but when i began to drive through the lights entering into The Christmas Ranch, I could notice a bunch of lights were out. The most me and my family could think the reason for this is a shortage, which is acceptable in some circumstances. As we are walking around The Christmas Ranch, we could also notice a lot of "shortages" in lights and seeing whole decorations not on. It being later in the day, we started to get hungry. We walked through the naughty and nice lines being accompanied by your workers. The service was great, but when I received my order, which was 2 hot chocolates, one peppermint, and 2 slices of cheese pizza and 2 corndogs, I was disappointed and unsatisfied with the food. The top of the corndogs were as hard as a rock, super dry, and overcooked. I am not a food critique, but I know the taste of freezer burn on pizza. (Trust me it's not something you want to taste/experience) I don't know all abbot what happens behind the scenes, but I feel like I could keep my frozen pizzas up to date and use a air fryer a little better. Went last year and really enjoyed it but I think that's novelty wore off because we went again this year and all I could notice was the cost of everything. The big bonfire in the middle surrounded by lights and music and cocoa and funnel cake was very fun and festive (despite the cocoa being very watered down and not very tasty)z It's fun that there are lots of different barns and cabins to go into but a little bummed that they are all just shops. Felt very "but buy buy!" to me. Wish some were more like cozy winter scenes or something interactive for the kids but I guess knick knacks are fun to look at too. Santa is nice, looks like Santa, the scenery around him is great too. The cost of photos is insane. $25 for one 4x6 print. Anything else is $45+. Kind of lost its magic for me there. We skipped the train ride because that costs extra per person as well. This concept is cute, the lights are well done, and the fire pit adds charm so this place has potential to be a hit but will probably skip it next year. read more

Very fun if you like Christmas lights and such. Everyone was friendly and upbeat. $15 for a carload (including parking) is a great deal for spending a couple hours immersed in blinky lights, holiday tchotchkes , and Christmas music. You can walk along a short path adorned with every Christmas theme imaginable. Some lights are sync'd to music. They have wonderful county fair food such as hot pretzels and french fries and coffee and hot chocolate. There's a massive fire pit with a massive fire. You can also stay in the car and see most of the attractions along the walking paths. At this time the train isn't running. Many stores are open and Santa is there for photos. Cons: When you purchase a ticket, it's assigned a time. Our ticket was assigned 9:30 PM and the facility closed at 10. I should have noticed that before I clicked Purchase but it was on a different part of the screen and it wasn't obvious, in my opinion. We arrived before 9:00 and there was no traffic at all: they let us in without a wait. The walking could be a little muddy and possibly treacherous if you're not paying attention. Parking lots (fields, actually) are essentially unlit. Attractions are well-lit by the bazillion Christmas lights but the footing can be problematic and your eyes may not adapt after staring at high level illumination. read more

I visited with my family on 12/4/20 and was disappointed. Music station they had posted did not work. Muddy, parking is horrible, bathrooms were closed. Only three port-a-pottys on site for hundreds and hundreds of people. Pictures with Santa was overpriced. $25 for a 5x7 ! Couldn't even talk to Santa Not all shops were open. A lot of people not wearing masks. Ranch staff was not enforcing state guidelines. Even ranch workers not wearing masks. What is up with 4-foot tall statues of Santa and reindeer drinking beer while waiting in line for Santa pictures? Google maps takes you to the exit and not the entrance. Don't know if I'll be back. Clifton mills is a better fit for families. read more

*Do your due diligence before going!* I CANNOT recommend it. After pre-paying for admission a day prior, the experience was less than ideal. Pre-paying did not expedite the process. Traffic flowing into the Christmas Ranch is arduous at best, so I would recommend arriving an hour prior to your 'entry time'. Navigating to the Christmas Ranch placed me at the exit, which was not clearly marked. Traffic leading to the entry took over an hour to traverse, which was slightly under a mile. Once arriving at the entrance, pre-paid admission only saves the attendant's time to allow traffic to continue towards the parking lot. Ingress into the Ranch cuts off a dimly lit pedestrian walkway towards one of the main attractions, which is a major oversight. The parking lot is a lawsuit waiting to happen with the complete lack of lighting. Two workers in high-vis vests with flashlights at the entrance to wave along moving vehicles is simply not enough; if it is a family-centric destination, a well-lit parking lot is necessary for a safe environment. The experience at the ranch consisted of a holiday themed train ride, plenty of shops to buy cheap ornaments and toys for tots, and attempts at holiday cheer, but the large bonfire and hot-cocoa are not worth the headache. While the light show connecting the entire ranch is a nice touch, the lack of event planning and care for patron safety is a complete oversight year and year through. read more

Perfect for getting into the Holiday Spirit Went at 5:30 and not crowded at all. The lights were awesome! The bonfire was amazing to sit by and warm up while drinking hot cider. Bought tickets online prior to entering... don't do that! Waited for well over 45 minutes in the entry line despite having prepaid for a specific entry time. Got in and parked, waited in line for the hot chocolate (pre-paid), then immediately went to line for the train ride (again, prepaid). After waiting in the line, the kid who drives it tells everyone that he's closing the ride. Mind you, this is 10 minutes before close. The amount of people still waiting could have filled one train, and the ride is about 5 minutes long. He proceeds to say "I have a life too" as to another unhappy customer told him to explain it to the kids. He also said "I wasn't supposed to even be here tonight." The owner reluctantly refunded the train ride. Personally, I'd offer admission for another night. We are people who will spend a fortune on our kid's experiences and she would've more than made up for it. If you'd like some wonderful places to visit instead Land of Illusion in Middletown has a fantastic Christmas display! Also the Cincinnati Zoo, Columbus Zoo, world famous Clifton Mills, and Woodland Lights. Much better money spent! read more

The giant bonfire was excellent. cute "train ride" that was freezing but the kids liked. BEWARE THE FUNNEL CAKE! So excited for Christmas lights!!!!!! The lights here are very excellent, but, you'd better be ready to shop for Christmas knick knacks, because that is the main attraction here. The entire village is a series of little shops filled with ornaments, etc. There is a little food court with a mix of okay food, I did witness one if the teenagers working the food counter sneeze all over a plate of pizza, then hand it to the woman who ordered it. This encouraging my fiancé and I to wait until we got home to eat dinner. All in all it was a fun Christmas outing, but it was probably a one time trip, next year I think we will find a less expensive, more interactive place to visit! read more

This place is actually pretty big and we enjoyed getting up and walking around looking at the lights at our own pace. We all met up around one of the bonfires and drank hot chocolate...very Christmasy. There were a few shops you could pop in and Santa was available for the children to talk to. The Christmas Ranch has been my favorite place for Christmas lights for years. We always respectively purchase our tickets and make our reservations prior to our arrival. This year however, we arrived at 640 to be on time to our 7 reservation. We did not get into the park until 830. I noticed the 3 cars ahead of us paid at their arrival. Why encourage people to make reservations and purchase tickets ahead of time if it clearly does not matter. It was so crowded we could not enjoy our visit. The lines were SO long for every activity. Such a disappointment to our longtime Christmas tradition. read more

I came with my sister and our good friend, and we had a blast! There were mostly families with younger children with a few couples sprinkled in, so we were the only group of childless twenty-somethings. The ranch is mainly geared towards children, I guess - but there wasn't anything overbearingly childish about it. Like I said, we had a blast, and at only $15/car (or $5/person for us). The staff was exceptionally friendly, the food was actually good, there was some type of pygmie horse and two billy goats, and they had a lovely roaring bonfire. Train/wagon rides are $4/person, and they take you to some outer lights and decorations that you can't really see from the ranch. (BTW: the lights are pretty fantastic.) The shops didn't sell much that I would buy, mostly ornaments and delicate figurines, but they added to the overall Christmas spirit. Would I return? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Here's to being young at heart! Note: The paths are dirt, so make sure you check the weather before coming. It had been raining before we came and the mud got pretty deep in some places. We would have been fine with proper shoes, but our "fancy" suede boots didn't fare so well. read more

We could have gone to a Christmas Store for free to shop. No actual events for kids, only a few sheep in a pen, a large bon-fire and hot cocoa and funnel cakes to purchase. The parking lot was dark and not safe with lots of families and kids about. Taking pictures with Santa was 'free', but to purchase the photo was super expensive. Last time, never again. read more

Went this evening and was aware we would encounter mud. Asked to park out further then the first row and was told no. Other cars ignored the parking attendants and were going out further. When walking through the mud to the stores one of the young men remarked "I don't know why nobody is listening." I told him most likely it's because the mud is slippery and can be dangerous. He told me "lady if you don't like it get in your car and leave." I wished him a merry Christmas and entered the farm with three others and enjoyed the fire. I however was prepared to shop and purchase gifts but left with nothing! I will now be paying a car detailer to clean up my car with the money I normally spend. I did not deserve to be spoke to in that manner! The remainder of your employees were polite and courteous! Hate to say that I won't be back.
