After visiting this place for the second time this weekend (both times for breakfast) I can safely say that the food here is delicious. Opting for eggs benedict and my fella, the smashed avocado on toast, both dishes were great. Perfectly poached eggs and fresh, local produce.
The place has a nice feel inside and the farrow and ball colours give it a relaxing vibe which is perfect for what we were after.
The pricing was also reasonable, with 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees coming in at under £20.
However, the staff are what really let's this place down. The first girl, although sweet, was quite dormant and obviously not trained properly (my latte came out looking like a 70's cappuccino - with a foam resembling a white Marge Simpson's hair do) and the most recent waitress made no effort to even smile. She actually threw my card onto the table after taking the receipt, and walked away without so much as a goodbye. I'm not expecting trumpets and a red carpet but am I so old fashioned as to expect a thank you?
With the fierce competitors in Chorlton, everything has to be on point, and unfortunately something as simple as a welcoming smile has lost The Chorlton Green another customer. read more
