We chose the moving out cleaning because I am currently unable to due any serious cleaning due to a herniated disc in my back. We had a 1560 Sq ft 3bd 2ba apartment and Phoebe did an amazing job! The bedrooms were spotless, the bathrooms were sparkling, the fridge was super clean, and the stove (especially the oven) just like new. Phoebe even cleaned the doors along with the window sills too. I used this service for over a year. Originally I dealt solely with Shawn and he was good about responding and handling any issues. Then over the past couple of months there was always a little issue with my cleaning. Corners not swept etc. The last "cleaning" I was billed for was a joke. I think they vacuumed the one room with carpet and that is it. My hardwood floors still had visible dirt my sinks were obviously not cleaned. When I contacted the service (via text as I always have) I was told to call before 5pm. My response was that I would not be able to call before 5. I let Lisa know I couldn't. She said I would need to contact her by phone before 5 during the week. This isn't possible with my work schedule. My schedule is the whole reason I use a service. I did not end up going with this service because when I spoke with Lisa on the phone 2 weeks ago, she said it would be $360 for the initial cleaning (4 bedrooms 2 1/2 bathrooms) and $135 for a biweekly cleaning. I called her back to book today and she said because she didn't put the $135 for biweekly service in the email quote to me and only put the $360, she can't honor the $135 for biweekly. I am a business owner myself and I stick by my word. If someone received a quote from me whether verbally or in written form, I will honor it. This company is highly unprofessional and I would warn against doing business with them. I started using The Chore Experts a few years ago on a bi-weekly basis to clean my personal residence. I was familiar with my cleaning crew but recently new people have been coming to clean my home because his regular staff was quitting. People I do not know. When I asked if they still do background checks I was told I should find a new cleaning service. The owner told me he was personally insulted that I would ask if they do background checks. I thought it was a pretty fair question. Big red flag!! I was also told that I'm "mean" when I follow up after a cleaning when something was not done properly; That I shouldn't expect everything to be perfect every time; That I only talk to the lady I know and not the new people I don't know (they're working - not sure what they needed me to talk to them about); That when they give an arrival window and then arrive outside of it that's my problem, and so on. I also know that I was charged extra if I missed a previous appointment (a rare occurrence over the years) but they do not charge other customers extra. Maybe I am hard to please, this could be possible. The expectation level was set at the initial consultation appointment so that's what I expected. I was usually the one standing up for them when my husband consistently found reasons to find a new cleaning service, and he has a pretty reasonable level of expectation. If it weren't for the one cleaning lady I really liked (who quit because she could no longer take working for the owners) I would have fired this company a long time ago. -------- In response to Shawn's comments regarding my negative review, I find it quite interesting that the accusations he is making about me were the exact accusations his staff used to make about working for them. They felt under appreciated and I was shocked at how little they got paid compared to what I was writing checks for. The ladies were always so grateful for the tips and cash bonuses I gave after each cleaning. I had a great relationship with the cleaning ladies which is the only reason I didn't leave sooner.
