I walk in, it's not the shiniest place, but hey, it's a barber shop, not a salon catering to the stay-at-home trophy wives who shop at Publix in the middle of the day. Sarah was a fresh dose of genuine personality, and she hooked me up with a dangerously excellent "hipster fade." I looked and felt like a million bucks walking out, and it only cost me $18 + tip (and you better be tipping these people) Now, the SECOND time was TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Let me tell you how. Today I was cut by Jared, and 1. He is a man 2. He has an awesome beard and 3. He has a naturally occurring hair color. Other than that, my experience was equally awesome. I had to wait a little longer than the first time, but they have live webcams that allow you to scope out how busy the place is beforehand, or you can call ahead. But like all things of awesome quality, my cut was well worth a little waiting for. White Oak Barber Shop is not the Amazon Prime 2-Day Free Shipping to the Masses kind of operation. They are the Ekornes Stressless Custom-Made Lounge Chair from Norway kind of operation. Do not give an establishment 1 star because you weren't smart enough to call ahead, recognize this place is busy & people are waiting BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME. Do not give this place 1 star because they're too busy turning average Joes into superheros with fantastic haircuts to drop what they're doing and offering you tea and cookies along with your ego massage. Go get your neck beard groomed at PetCo and come back when your uterus isn't hurting so badly. If you want high-quality, razor sharp haircuts, a hot lather neck shave that's borderline Sweeney Todd close, White Oak is for you. If you want robotic scripted customer service and a 12-minute turnaround time, Great Clips is right down the street.

I have never been Sport Clip nor have I allowed someone else aside my regular barber [who was out of town for the holidays] work on my head. For my first experience at Sport Clip, I will say the waiting time was none existant. When I got in and signed in, the stylist I had chosen called me in. The MVP haircut experience includes, the haircut. Once that is completed, they take you to a another room where you get your hair shampooed and while they are washing your hair, you will have a warm, essential oil coated towel on your face AND the chair is a massage chair. After all that is done, they top it off with shoulder and neck massage. My all experience was quite relaxing and I was not expecting to receive that kind of MVP haircut experience. My stylist Erika was great. She definitely pays attention to details and goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are well taken care of. I would definitely recommend her. I could see myself returning in other emergency situations. For now, thank you for the special treatment and it's great to now have a backup barbershop I trust.

That's ridiculous in itself. But today when he came home, he was FUMING. He was next in line and all of a sudden it said 57 minutes. So he asked about the wait, and one of the hair stylist was leaving which put him waiting another hour. So the lady came back and cut my dad's hair. And you can tell it was done by someone who was in a hurry and only cared about getting out of there! It looks terrible and he will be back tomorrow to complain! They shouldn't have let him leave like that!
