I don't know her name but she was but she was pregnant, she EFFED my sons hair up! It's not even even, the only reason I took him there is because of the high rating and I can't believe how she's butchered his hair. He's 8 and I'm so glad it happened while he out of school. Funny thing is my husband went to the same place and she's effed up his hair too, and we had not even discussed that it was the same place I was taking him. Just walked in for the first time today, and only have one question: what took me so long? Merritt got my 4 month old beard in check, and sent me home with some beard oil to soften it up. I would highly recommend, and I will be back. Make sure you sign in when you walk in, because that's not overly obvious. I've shopped around all the standard chop-shops (Great/Mediocre Clips and Super/not-so-super Cuts) and haven't found a place that delivered anything more than your basic get 'em in and get 'em out and hope for the best. This was my second visit and it was even better than the first which was great. I had two different barbers and each one did a great job. They take their time, listen, and don't rush you through the process. The barbers were professional and didn't chit-chat too much which I liked. In the world of barber shops this is a great one and they do great work. However, I did not see a white oak. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS BARBERSHOP! I have to schedule another hair appointment the same day with my wife's salon because my hair was completely jacked up. The guy who cut my hair showed up late for work, and was bragging about how he woke up on his friends roof the night prior after partying all night. I randomly happened upon this diamond in the rough through sheer coincidence, and it is the greatest thing to have ever happened to my life. The first time I went, I had zero expectations. I walk in, it's not the shiniest place, but hey, it's a barber shop, not a salon catering to the stay-at-home trophy wives who shop at Publix in the middle of the day. Sarah was a fresh dose of genuine personality, and she hooked me up with a dangerously excellent "hipster fade." I looked and felt like a million bucks walking out, and it only cost me $18 + tip (and you better be tipping these people) Now, the SECOND time was TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Let me tell you how. Today I was cut by Jared, and 1. He is a man 2. He has an awesome beard and 3. He has a naturally occurring hair color. Other than that, my experience was equally awesome. I had to wait a little longer than the first time, but they have live webcams that allow you to scope out how busy the place is beforehand, or you can call ahead. But like all things of awesome quality, my cut was well worth a little waiting for. White Oak Barber Shop is not the Amazon Prime 2-Day Free Shipping to the Masses kind of operation. They are the Ekornes Stressless Custom-Made Lounge Chair from Norway kind of operation. Do not give an establishment 1 star because you weren't smart enough to call ahead, recognize this place is busy & people are waiting BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME. Do not give this place 1 star because they're too busy turning average Joes into superheros with fantastic haircuts to drop what they're doing and offering you tea and cookies along with your ego massage. Go get your neck beard groomed at PetCo and come back when your uterus isn't hurting so badly. If you want high-quality, razor sharp haircuts, a hot lather neck shave that's borderline Sweeney Todd close, White Oak is for you. Rude service!! They didn't even say hi or anything just pointed to the computer for check in. When it locked up and would not accept my phone number the girl that wasn't doing anything anyways groaned and had me come over to her computer so she should check me in. No manners at all. No normal question like what bring you in today or nice day or nothing. She says "number?", "name?". No Hi how you doin... no smile, nothing but a scowl. So I said do you have someone who can trim my beard? She rudely says "we all do beards." Like I am an idiot for even asking. So I said that I was looking for a place that offers customer service and apparently I need to keep looking and I walked out. No attempt was made to stop me or apologize. I will certainly pass this on to my coworkers here in Chattanooga. Don't waste your time here. read more

I walked in for the first time and made eye contact with two barbers and neither mentioned signing anything. They have a computer based system which is very nice but it would have been nice for someone to mention it or have a sign for their high tech system in a barber shop not a salon. I highly recommend their services and will be coming back. read more

Ive gone to many Barber Shops in my past 3 years, and this quite simply is the most unorganized barber shop I've given multiple chances. Countless times they feel the need to rush my haircut because they don't have a booking system and simply want to empty out the waiting area. The cost of a simple haircut is ridiculous considering 9 times out of 10, it gets rushed AND it is more expensive than any other established barber shop I've been to in my time. If you simply want your head completely shaved off this is the place to go. They don't know how to style hair properly because every time I go back to GA after getting my hair cut here my barber asks how I lost a fight with a pair of scissors. read more

Horrible experience. Went in and checked in. No problems at that point. We requested Clinton, who was only male stylist there and looked like he knew what he was doing. We quickly noticed that he spent more time watching TV and blowing air than he did cutting hair. Then when he consigned with his current client, he went to the computer and looked to see who was next. Had to see that he had been requested and instead of telling anyone he was leaving, left the building and never came back. The other people cutting hair didn't even know where he went. Finally after us waiting an additional 42 minutes, we decided to leave. This is the second time we have tried to get a haircut at this location. First time we walked in, they said an hour wait and we walked back out. Will not return to this location. read more
