My pregnancy and postpartum experience with Willow was far from supportive. The model of seeing a new midwife each appointment left the care disjointed, and I found myself at my 36 week appointment explaining my previous pregnancy condition with yet another new midwife. The midwife on call when I went into labor I'd never met. Granted , COVID changed everything, but they cut most in person prenatal visits completely. Phone calls aren't the same. Care felt rushed and reactive, not guiding and proactive like my first pregnancy at another birth center. The huge bill I received was a big surprise too-- one I could/ would have avoided had I known there would be an $8000 outpatient facility fee. That was in addition to the other ~$7000 of planned and expected charges. Sure wish that information was made available to me BEFORE the birth. Postpartum care was nonexistent. Was told ' sorry we let you down" but essentially you're on your own. Not thrilled, and won't be recommending this birth center.

My experience was wonderful. Due to severe pre-eclampsia I found out at my 37w apt that I need to be induced asap. Brieana was called and she dropped everything and I mean everything to drive to the naval hospital at Camp Pendleton. My husband was deployed during this entire time and I was in desperate need of a guiding light. Brieana knew my wishes to have an unmedicated/natural birth and helped me overcome the pain so I had the birth I wanted. brieana stayed the during the entire process, even notifying me when a new nurse had uped my pitocin by several levels without telling me !!! She was by my side to give me a massage, breathe me past pitocin surges and she made every person that came into my room read my birth plan! This woman even was calm when my waters broke on her ! Brieana is amazing. She helped me to have my baby latch immediately, also one thing I'll never forget.... she said to me " im not leaving here until you tell me you feel safe " That is a big deal, something I needed to hear. She also checked in on my baby before she left ( my girl was in a SIU for an evening). Following birth, Brieana checked on me almost daily ! She took my placenta home to encapsulate and she delivered them to me the very day I was home from the hospital. She typed out a beautiful birth memoir for my daughter and shaped a part of her cord into a heart for her baby book I feel Incredibly blessed to have had Brieana as my doula. She is very caring, knowledgeable and dependable. I mean, she even had me laughing during some of my most painful surges ! Should I ever be pregnant again, I would want Brieana by my side.

I have had nothing but good experiences here with the staff and nurses. No issues with making appointments, and lab tests have all been handled timely and easily. I'm a tough stick for blood draws and haven't had issues with lab techs not being able to draw blood. I ADORE my OB at this practice, Dr. Margaret Enadeghe. She is the first OB I've had who's taken the time to listen and respond to every single one of my and my partner's questions. Even when I nervously ask the same question multiple times over several visits! We are never rushed, however long she needs to spend with us to make us feel comfortable and informed, she does. She's a lovely person and a new mom herself, and happy to share her experiences tackling motherhood, which I've really appreciated as I'm becoming a first-time mom as well. Also, for folks who have ED/body dysmorphia issues, Dr. Enadeghe is incredibly sympathetic. I have disordered eating and was really worried I'd be tempted to restrict calories because of pregnancy weight gain. Thankfully, Dr. Enadeghe told me there was no need for me to even LOOK at the scale when they weighed me. She said she would inform me if anything was out of the ordinary, and assured me that the number on the scale wasn't a concern. This approach really helped me and made me much less anxious about my body's changes during pregnancy. I also really like the policies put in place by the clinic. I think they try to stay on top of current academic research and are consistently changing their protocols, instead of just sticking with antiquated methods. Quick example: I'm a research junkie and learned there's relatively new data that states it can be beneficial to the newborn to delay cord cutting after birth. This helps with hemoglobin levels and a bunch of other stuff. I asked Dr. Enadeghe about this and she said it was standard policy for the clinic to delay cord cutting.

Example: Visit is for 1 topic, when I got to weight loss, how my pee poops skipped over to promote a daily drink no one had read the ingredients .. was is gluten free. Honest staff and physician just not revealing potential useful information. There are people with a lot of common sense they haven't heard of .. like PBS Judith Wrightman.. not sure I got the last name spelling right. Dr. Amen about brain health are just 2. No mention of how grief support or being prepared is important. Was told he would make an area more male friendly then that didn't happen. He has males that at least accompany the females coming. I was hospitalized, went well, it could've gone better and was not given any reports, clinic notes to make any future hospital experience less upsetting and more pleasant. Having a PCP not mentioned and some of what was promoted there clashed with the common sense at a primary physician visit. There is potential at this clinic to be awesome yet they might forego it for what's easiest and safest financially. What they don't realize is a few tweeks would achieve concerns, be cheaper, turn them into an exceptional, very needed service provider niche.

We hired Justine for our second pregnancy because I was high-risk, on Lovenox, and managing gestational diabetes, and an unmedicated birth felt right for us. With my first pregnancy, I had no complications and chose an epidural, so my husband was very skeptical about needing a doula this time, especially since our first delivery went so smoothly. What ultimately made us move forward was knowing that my husband, being a very logical person, wouldn't be able to give me the emotional support I'd need during labor. After meeting Justine on a video call, everything instantly felt right. She was warm, supportive, and confident from the start, and she was the only doula who genuinely believed I could have an unmedicated birth--especially considering how quickly my first labor progressed with an epidural. She also reassured my husband that her support was just as much for him as it was for me. Throughout the pregnancy, Justine and her team answered every question and helped me navigate every curveball. No matter what came up, she was there with guidance, resources, and a listening ear. On delivery day, I delivered our baby girl in under an hour--completely unmedicated, just as we hoped. Even though there were moments when I wanted to give up, Justine's calm presence and steady, encouraging voice helped me push through. It ended up being the most magical birth experience I've ever had, and I still can't believe I did it. Hiring her was truly one of the best decisions we made. TL;DR: We were unsure about hiring a doula, but Justine completely changed our minds. Despite a high-risk pregnancy, she supported us from day one, reassured my skeptical husband, and helped me have a fast, completely unmedicated birth. Her calm, steady presence made it the most magical delivery experience--we're so glad we chose her.
