We are addicted to this place. Their dill pickle fries are a most to try. Love that you can eat right beside the water too.

Amazing! Worth the drive for sure. Had dill pickles fries and a regular poutine. Both were awesome. We will be back.

I know that Mercyhurst has the Culinary Cab, but as far as I know, Ernies is the only truly…read moreconsistent food truck in the Erie, PA scene. Of course, that's a shame, but lets hope that the presence of Ernies leads to more people taking the time to get the permits, figure out the logistics, and take this risk. Located on weekdays during work hours at Perry Square, Ernies is a small, locally-owned food truck that offers up Erie's own Smith hot dogs, Italian sausages, hamburgers, turkey burgers, cheesesteaks, steak wraps, BLTs, pulled pork sandwiches, and more. It's a safe menu, sure, but Ernies makes every meal fresh and made-to-order. This means that it takes a little longer (my Italian sausage with onions and peppers took probably 6-7 minutes), but being so fresh and at an extremely reasonable price of $4, it was well worth the wait - especially considering the guys behind the counter were personable and more than willing to chat with me while they were cooking, as it wasn't too busy. From out of town and need to get a fresh Smith's hot dog (aka the best hot dog on the planet)? Here's your chance. As much as I love Sara's for what it is, I've never liked that their dogs sit on the burners for way too long. Here, you don't have to worry about that. Support these guys. They're local... and if they do well, who knows? We could very well see some more of these pop up downtown (how about an El Canelo taco truck, a place with Lake Erie perch fish tacos, Erie pierogies and pepperoni balls, etc.?).

My family and I ate here for a birthday dinner. There were 8 of us. Most of our food was cold that…read morewe ordered. Especially the wings. The food was also heavily smoked almost too much. That's all you taste is smoke. I am aware that it's bbq and that the food would have been smoky but this is way too much. Even my father who is an avid meat smoker agreed. There were also 5 out of 8 who ended up with food poisoning. 10/10 not a good experience. Based off of the sickness alone I would not go back. My father called and left a detailed message just letting them know that 5 of us got sick. Last I knew he hadn't heard back from them. The item in common that us sick people had was the brisket.

Stopped by for lunch today. Had the 'Treehorn' - local Bello's cajun sausage and pulled pork on a…read moretoasted hoagie roll. It was served with chips and homemade pickle slices. Nice touch of the butcher paper. The sausage had great spice & smoke. The pulled pork was sort of an after thought as the sausage portion was good, the pork could have been a little more abundant. The décor is nice, with a hand-painted mural in the back room that tells the story of the Que/Dude. Several pieces of art/photography on the walls. I expect it to evolve . . . I enjoyed the sandwich enough that I got a pound of pulled pork to go (now in the freezer after a suitable sampling) one thing I like is that the pulled pork is just that. It comes with sauce on the side although. The smoke and flavor of this pork is excellent and did not require any sauce to be thoroughly enjoyed. I will be going back soon as there are sooo many items on their menu that I need to try. Which includes the ice cream!
