I frequently stop in to see if I can pick up some artificial, but beautiful realistic looking, florals. Every now and then I get super lucky and they are having a sale, like the 75% off sale they had today, on outrageously wonderful merchandise! I bought three pearl and crystal tree ornaments that were practically free, as well as silky soft pajamas, and a bodacious dressy purse ("Bau dacious" was actually the name of the purse). I am going to have to search for a formal event to attend to show off this purse! I have other formal purses that are too small to even include a phone, and this is the perfect size, as well as a unique work of art! At 75% off, this was splurging without breaking the bank.

For years I have occasionally shopped for clothing at Anthropologie. I think that the styles are creative and that the clothing is well-made. As other reviewers have noted, the prices are higher than what some other stores charge, but the quality is high, and the store has a sale section that most people could afford. During my most recent visit, I browsed around the store for minutes, and then an employee asked me if I needed any assistance--while very obviously looking me up-down. Eek! My household income is in the top 1%, but I was wearing middle-class attire such as HOKA (which Anthropologie sells!) and The North Face. I think that her verbal communication was fine but that her nonverbal communication could improve. I saw a dress and shirt that I liked, but I did not buy them. I was a returning cash customer who purchased a supplement only to find the contents had been tampered with and replaced with Sweet Tart candies. After several phone calls and a return visit to the store I was not only refused a replacement or money back, I myself was accused of the tampering. Their resolve was to offer a minimal discount on a future purchase. Unfortunately this inferior quality of customer service does not warrant any additional purchases from myself at this place of business. It is pathetic that a simple transaction has had to escalate to not only a poor review but also further investigation.
