COLE IS THE MAN!…read more Cole Thannisch is a musician, singer, song writer who performed the final concert at "Concerts at the Collection" tonight. He was absolutely phenomenal. At 21, this young man has a tremendous stage presence and the talent of someone who has been performing for 30 years or more. When it comes to his music, he would appear to be somewhat of a perfectionist because we watched him spend 50 minutes adjusting his sound system while running back and forth to check the sound in various areas. He made sure that the sound was great from every single area of the venue, (a good sign). Cole has a varied repertoire of songs including some original material. We actually purchased his music prior to leaving because he just kept us engaged throughout his performance. Cole will be performing (with that rich soulful voice), throughout the area for the next month and his schedule can be found via his facebook page. We look forward to seeing him again before summer ends! GREAT SHOW!

The event started with a documenary about Divine Records, a local Gospel recording company. Performances by Elder Jack Ward and Elizabeth King followed. Both artist displayed tremendous range and stamina during their time on stage, with the audiance on their feet during most of the evening. It was a wonderful concert at a great venue. Be sure to see and support these Gospel legends whenever you are able.

All the houses are next to each other all within a block. The houses are all different in their own unique way. Very pretty. Gives you that small up close glimpse at how houses were back in the day.

In addition to some of my favorite service industry professionals, there was one engaging, yet unfamiliar bartender whose personality & cocktails really stood out. Anthony Alexander was an extremely attentive representative working the Memphis Bar Ties table. The members of my group showered him with of our "votes" which per the event protocol garnered you a full size drink of the sample he was offering. I am not sure when I will have a need for private event bartending services. If i ever do, I will look to Memphis Bar Ties. Hopefully, if I am lucky, I will be able to secure Anthony Anderson to work my event. Kudos to the organization for finding such an asset.

My review is strictly based on the Sinners and Saints Ball 2 we attended this past Saturday. I have…read morenever been to Stop 345 but I have heard a lot about this party and how great it was. I have never been to a party thrown by a bar that I truly enjoyed...but after people kept telling me how great it was we gave it a try. This party did not disappoint!! We came early around 9:30 had some BBQ which was excellent and from the pictures posted on facebook they made it themselves great job! There was a room to eat with a smaller bar, then another room were the band played with a dance floor another bar and a jello shot area. They added porta potties outside for the guy. Then there was another room where they had the trailer park, fortune teller and photo trailer...this was so unique I loved it. Everyone came dressed in their best costume so I will have to step up my costume game next year. The crowd is great was a good mix of all ages was not dominated by drunk college kids. We are going back next year for sure. I had such a great time I am looking forward to just trying out this bar one weekend. Everyone who put this on did a great job they never ran out of drinks, staff was always friendly and girls the bathroom line was never that bad....all night long :-0!!

Thanks to the Main Street trolley art thing they hold on the last Friday of every month, I'm going…read moreto go broke. We stopped in the gallery last night, just to check it out. Wouldn't you know, I want one of everything! David Bunk is the photographer's name. He showed us around and was happy to help us find the perfect print. His work is amazing! A little back story: When I first starting dating my hubby, I took him to Clarksdale to the crossroads - 5 times during one trip, because he was convinced it was just a gravel intersection like it is in movies. Since then, it's held a special place in our hearts. We even went as Robert Johnson and the devil for Halloween one year. Guess which one I was?! Now, back to my review: We've looked at several paintings and prints of the crossroads, but none seemed to be what we were looking for. So anyway, David had a few awesome prints and canvases of the crossroads that fit the bill perfectly. We bought a cool 12 x 16 print of the 61 & 49 guitar sign with lightening behind it to hang in our game room. We received a free limited edition 8 x 10 of the new bridge that will probably find a home in the bar. I thought it was a steal for about $55. It was 20% off. I plan to go back for several of the Memphis prints and/or canvases too. I especially like the one with the trolly in front of the Orpheum. This is my kind of art! From looking at his website, he takes unbelievable personal photography in addition to his art. If we ever get family photos made, and for my kids senior pictures, there's no doubt who I'll call. David has God given talent with a camera. Last but not least is his little moo-moo dog! She's adorable. I love walking into any shop that has its own "mascot."

I'm really digging this cool photography studio and am thankful to have met Dave (photographer) and…read morehis wife. It all started when I requested transportation via their golf cart service from my downtown hotel to Beale St. They surprisingly picked me and my children up just minutes after my call to request taxi service and gave us a private tour of downtown and it's landmarks. During our tour, we had the opportunity to switch our golf cart to the larger one with larger tires to go by the bridge and see the light show. While switching carts, I was offered a tour of the studio and fell in love with the amazing photography and canvas works of art that Dave had created. Since I'm an art lover, I seen some huge canvas pictures that I loved, and asked Dave if he could possibly make the same exact prints on a canvas but at a much smaller size. Surprisingly, Dave said of course and that he would have them custom made and he would personally deliver them to my room the next morning at 9am as I was checking out early and headed to another state. Sure enough, Dave kept his word and delivered the amazing pieces of art and personally signed them with a caring message to me and my family. He even brought some complimentary art pieces for my daughters. Dave is truly passionate about his photography and he has a very kind and awesome personality. I'd like to return to Memphis to visit and I'd definitely buy more artwork from Reel2Reel.
