Just got back from our first visit to the Celtic Knot. The food is very good. The scotch eggs alone are worth going for. Absolutely delicious. The shepherds pie could have been done better and a little larger portion with a little less cheese and more meat would have done it up perfect. The sliders with corned beef were deemed delicious. The other two of us had burgers, One was seared with Irish beer and one with Irish Whiskey. Both of us loved the burgers. The onion rings were terrific fresh and freshly fried, no old grease taste. The sweet potato fries were delicious the regular fries were just that. The black and tan wasn't as good as Sullivans in Oxford, But the Irish whiskey was deemed wonderful as was the bottle beer had by one of us. I would like to see more Irish foods, Lamb, Heavy Irish cheeses. An all Irish plate offering of Irish Sausage and Cheese would be wonderful. The colcannon was delicious. We met the Chef, the son of the Owner. He is very good and adventuresome so I expect the menu will grow. This building was the old Lakeville Inn. It has been redone beautifully. The tables and chairs are lovely, Its bright, clean, and very welcoming. Our waitress Melissa was very good. All in all a great evening. Will be back for the scotch eggs alone! I am expecting even greater things from the Celtic Knot as it is open longer. They have a lovely outside deck to eat or drink on with great views of Lakeville lake and the surrounding area. read more

My "go to" place for a drink or a meal. Located in Lakeville just north of Rochester. The atmosphere is fabulous and the staff is attentive. Try the upper deck for a great view of the lake. A great place to stop and a day of hiking or leaf peeping. read more

We love this little bar! The foods not outstanding honestly, but the service and the summer nights in the deck are amazing. The foods just a little heavy or oily. But we do enjoy ourselves every time. Great beer life. So friendly! read more

I used to eat lunch here all the time when it was the Lakeville Inn and I liked it then... Since it has changed hands and been remodeled and the menu updated, it is even better than before! The food is very good and there is a great beer selection. The rooftop patio is great during the summer. They offer music on the weekends with an Open Mic Night every other Saturday - which is great fun! Both the staff and patrons are warm and welcoming - glad to strike up a conversation, banter a bit, whatever fits the mood! We keep finding ourselves drawn back and it is again becomming one of our go-to places! Definitely worth the drive! read more

Food was cold not much room in the place to walk in between tables since a lot of tables were on top of one another. There was a good beer and liquor selection that they carried read more

Just had dinner at the Celtic Knot and will definitely be back!!!!! Shepard's Pie, Cheeseburger/Fries and Wings with Guinness BBQ Sauce...ALL very good!!! Jacqueline (bartender) made our visit so much better, very quick witted and fun!!! Thanks Jacqueline, we will be back!!!! read more

Good food, good waitstaff, great atmosphere, but a little dark inside. Upper deck outside is a big bonus. So close to 5 stars!

I love the atmosphere and the food is getting better since new ownership. I love the Bloody Marys and they have a good selection of beers. The location is wonderful especially in the spring and summer because of it's proximity to Lakeville Lake. My only wish: a dress code for the wait staff. I feel the best restaurants I've been to have a more cohesively dressed wait staff. The waitresses tend to wear whatever they want and it's a little sloppy. Over all I would recommend this place to all of my friends. read more

Server didn't even get our whole tables drink order. We have been here about an hour. No food. Haven't seen the server for another round. Went to bar to get drinks for my table. Chicken under cooked. Chewy and disgusting. read more

Save your money and time! Stopped here on a nice Sunday evening for a bite to eat. Signs asked for our patience due to low staffing. Understood! We ordered a plate of 12 sliders and side of fries. 45 min later we received our order - but only 6 sliders which were tasteless little hockey pucks, and a basket of cold, saltless fries. After dropping off the food, the waitress went over to another table where she sat and talked to a table for 20 minutes - never stopping back for a check in, water, or the napkin we requested. I had to tear my napkin in 1/2 to share with my husband. The table next to us was fuming as well and actually went up to the chatty waitress and politely asked her to attend to her tables. Their food finally arrived - delivered by another waitress, cold and without silverware. Grabbed our bill and vowed never to return. What a bummer. This place has a great location. I can empathize with the lack of employees and slower service, but not poor service. It's wait staff 101. read more

The building was comfortable. The service was pleasant. We sat near a window and had two floor vents blowing cold air out on a cold Feb evening. My husband's food had a hair in it. He also asked for no set up for his burger and there was some. My daughter's wings were dry and burnt. The garnish on our plates looked wilted and unpleasant. Not a good 1st visit. read more

Disappointing visit. This is just bar food not traditional Irish food. Ordered the $11 shepherd's pie and it was tiny. Went way too crazy with the dried herbs. That is all I could taste. And it was more of a stew with cheese on top. Burger was good (again, bar food). Inconsistent with pizza too - we ordered pizza one week apart and the same pizza looked completely different. Not worth returning in my opinion. read more

The Celtic Knot - Shepherd's Pie...tiny and terribly seasoned - Irish Near Me - Leonard, Michigan

Not sure if they're under new management, but none of the staff looked familiar and service was VERY slow - not like it usually is. The server forgot to bring the garlic toast that went with the meal my wife ordered. Food was good, just not the usual good, prompt service. read more

Took forever to get our drinks and food. We ordered entrees and the waitress comes back 20+ minutes later to say they don't even have the ingredients to make one of the dishes. Ordered their specialty Bloody Mary and learned they don't have the mix to make it. Don't complain to management, they'll just blame the untrained waitstaff and give you attitude while they do it. Too bad. They have a great location in a nice lake community. Won't EVER go back. read more

Bar food nothing special. However, if you sit on the rooftop it was a nice view of the lake. Not a bad spot to go and have a few cold brews on a warm summer night read more

What's with the awful rundown condition of the property. Weeds galore, tall grass, old rusty sign on the lawn all render a very unappealing experience at this restaurant. No curb appeal at all. Down right scary - how can you expect customers to want to come inside. Clean up your act! read more

I have always had great food here. I love the patio in the summer and the friendly waitresses. We live close, so it's our go to place to dine. read more

I tried there ruben sandwich being a irish themed bar restaurant i thought they would know how to make a corned beef sandwich, WRONG the meat was thick sliced over 1/4 thick chunks of meat. looked like left over's, Menu said thin sliced and it was like chewing rubber bands. If you want a good corned beef sandwich don't go here. My wife had the club and that look good and a cup of soup an 2 cokes. Grand total 32.00 wow over priced should have went to arby's. on the bright side. the restaurant is beautiful inside. The waitress was nice read more

I seriously love this place!! Everything about it is wonderful! The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and they give great service!! read more

Truly one of the worst meals I have ever had!! To start the experience, the hostess was beyond rude and extremely upset she had to move two tables together to accommodate my party (5 people mind you) . We ordered fish and chips, nessies feast, a bowl of chicken dumpling, appetizer platter and shepards pie. Fish and chips we're edible. Nessies was two pieces of cold pieces of perch that we're soggy and downright gross with a few pieces of frozen "bang bang" shrimp where im not sure where the name came about cause there was nothing "bang bang" about them. Shepards pie was tiny with no ground beef and 97% cheese with days old mashed potatoes with two pieces of burnt toast Chicken and dumplings has a horrible funk to it with raw frozen dumplings Appetizer was a bunch of frozen junk, with grey chicken bites. Cole slaw was hot and had to be spit out cause of the horrible horrible spoiled taste Our server was not to be seen through out the whole meal and had to go to the bar to order a drink. I highly suggest if your thinking about going here DONT! Keep on going! Minus stars. read more

They have an unusual menu. The prices are a bit on the high side. But I have been there 4 or 5 times. I liked THE CAULDRON which is a chicken stew with dumplings. Their burgers are always good, The fish and chips are fine. My wife loves the perch. They have a weird $11.00 fried boiled egg that I want to try next. read more

Aside from the fact we think they mistakenly hit our credit card twice (will call tomorrow to straighten that out), decent place. Friendly, clean, nice, massive improvement over the nasty owner of the Lakeville Inn. Good bar food but VERY disappointed there were so few Irish/Scottish menu offerings. How about Irish cheeses served in fruit & cheese platter, hearty Irish stew with a side of brown bread or even corned beef & cabbage? read more

Just read all reviews, staff is not professional, rude, customer is always wrong, it took 1 1/2 from start to finish with nothing good in between but excuses from the staff. Missing good, cold food. Manager was juvenile, didn't know how to handle the situation, it's just sad that these days their is no true customer service anymore. Would not recommend, our waitress was terrible, all around not good! read more

Finally a well ran restaurant in Lakeville. This is my local enjoyment place to be. The food is really good with an authentic Irish menu mixed with an upscale bar and grill menu. The staff including the managers and owners are all amazing with welcome arms and comical conversations. They make the extra jump to ensure your experience there is one to make you come back again. Different beer selections as well as food specials brings change when it's needed. Highly recommended for summer harley rides or an evening out with family and friends. Great outdoor patio overlooking the lake and live entertainment to keep the night life rocking. read more

The staff was outstanding. We had a large group with multiple bills and the waitress kept everything straight. Food was good and it came quick. There was no concern with us bringing a cake in. Thanks for everything. read more

Celtic Knot, when first opened, was a foodie dream. The owners were both in & out of kitchen; making sure everything was top knot. The service was efficient, effectively taking orders & paying careful attention to each customer. The meals were excellent, but it seems as though quality of service & good meal items have drastically changed, and for the worse; going downhill & the two owners are no where to be seen. Very disappointed. read more

We've eaten here a number of times over the last 2 years. Usually, food and service are more than acceptable. I'm noting today's visit was different. Server was ok, not the best personality. Caeser salad with steak was so poor. Head lettuce doesn't belong in a caeser. Dressing should be mixed in the salad. Very disappointed. And the fried fish was dripping in grease. Hoping this was a one off, we'll try again in a few months. read more

Breakfast was good. I really liked the corn beef hash. Someone needs to update the site that comes up on Google because it shows they do not open until noon on Sunday. read more

I had never eaten at the former Celtic Knot. I understand it just reopened under new ownership. So this is not to compare with what was there before. There weren't enough parking spots for the size of the establishment. Normally, that would be a good sign of popularity for good reasons. While the atmosphere was pleasant enough, I found the food to be, at best, average. If you're going to pay $16+ for just an entree (the Nellie's Feast), it ought to be tasty and fresh. I thought the fried clams were overcooked, the fried shrimp a little limp, and the pan fried perch just ok. It was unseasoned and also a little limp and uninspired. Sometimes when food is served in this manner, it is more a timing thing than preparation thing - like it had been sitting around a while before being served. My friend had the salmon and also thought it a bit overcooked - on the dry side. Another friend, on the other hand, had the filet mignon and thought it cooked and seasoned perfectly. I'm going to take a guess that the chef is a bit more adept at cooking beef than seafood. It is not easy being superior at both. Anyway, I would probably not go back since it is a bit out of the way for me and if I'm going to go out of my way for a $60 meal for two, it had better be impressive. read more

great stop for lunch/dinner/drinks. Food is always great, staff are absolutely wonderful. Don't hesitate to stop by if your in the area, you won't be disappointed! read more

Decided to give this place a try. It was a nice Sunday evening, and I wanted to go somewhere with a patio. We sat outside and it was the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful day. The service was fantastic and our waiter was very attentive. I ordered the traverse city salad, and it was one of the best I've ever had. I'm a picky eater but the combination of the candied walnuts, cherries, blue cheese, and greens was delicious. My boyfriend got the Caribbean jerk chicken wings, and he devoured them no problem. I would recommend this place to my friends looking for a nice place to enjoy good food and an enjoyable atmosphere. read more

I have had numerous hamburgers from this restaurant, and to be honest the food is good. However, I ordered a carryout , and I had a special request on my order, I did not receive the burger as I ordered it. In all honesty, I should take some responsibility as I should of checked it before leaving the restaurant. I called the "Manager Jacqulin", and she acted like it was not a big deal, she offered to remake it , she took the order personally, and they burnt the hamburger, the entire burger was black and falling apart. When I called back, she said she didnt know what else she could do for me. She was rude, and obviously has no clue on how to manage a restaurant, her people skills need improvement. It is sad that they will loose my business. read more

Cool local joint. Been quite a few concepts, some good, some no so good, going back to at least 1989 when I moved to the area. Friendly (but not the most polished) staff but no worries, food and drinks come eventually and most items are pretty good. French Onion soup, not too salty like many places, comes in a small cast iron crock that keeps it warm till the end. Sandwiches are competently executed, pizza passable. Never had an "entree" so can't comment on those. Overall a great place for locals like us but we don't bite strangers who visit, too. read more

Great food! I've been here a few times over the years(under other names). The Celtic Knot is by far the best. The Scotch Eggs are a must have! read more

Very nice quality food, owners who really care a great portions. The inside is very cool and is a local hangout. Most everything on the menu is very good. Parking is easy (So long as you can find a spot) and the prices are reasonable. Well worth a visit. read more

If you can handle regular pub/bar food fare then come here on a nice day and nab a spot on the patio facing the lake. Nice view and decent food. read more

Went for Mother's Day. It was cold in the side room. We mentioned to the waiter how cold it was, but he never did anything about it, wore our coats the whole time. They serve breakfast till 2:00, but were out of hashbrowns at noon. Substituted with roasted potatoes that were burnt. The white toast that came with the Irish breakfast smelled. It had that smell of old white bread that you smell when you open a bag of white bread and not sure if it's moldy yet. No butter on the toast. Got some butter, took one bite, and it was gross. Free carnations for Moms. Was given a few of the the teeny little carnations that you get that grow on the side of the main carnation. Wow, how cheesy. Will not go back. read more

Excellent food!!! Gone three times and everything was impressive. The service is always pleasant. They have good chef. The restaurant itself is interesting too and we love the porch. Will be coming back for sure. One of the better Irish selections. Many other Irish pubs barely have half of these options on their menu. Yum yum! read more

This place is OK. The food is decent, and the establishment is awesome and warm. The only thing that is not cool, is the water and ice smell and taste like well water. I go there when I plan to drink diet soda without ice. Otherwise, it's beer... Eh. 3 stars. read more

Great food and great service! The fish and chip were phenomenal and Payton (our server) made us feel right at home. There is a great view from the upper deck patio. We will be back again. read more
