Perhaps timing a super busy Wednesday evening where staff seemed unable to keep up, one Reisling glass my sister got had ice chunks, another friend's French red seemed rotten somehow, the worst tasting expensive drink I've ever had. That includes Three Floyd's stouts which rival sewage. Charcuterie board was fine. Salad a typical strawberry affaire. Chocolate Torte and my Teays River lager the two redeeming qualities. It's a fun space with outdoor seating, a lot of energy and only the tiny wall bar space left for us. Maybe I'll try again but with many better places offering bigger menus, better value, and in tune service like Black Sparrow, Red Seven, and my all time city favorite Town and Gown, I suspect I'll let all the others enjoy the wine here since all I did was whine! read more

We finally made time to stop at Cellar Wine Bistro for Wine Wednesday. It was WONDERFUL. Highly recommend calling ahead to reserve a table on the patio. We had the bread and butter--epic. The butter was whipped honey butter. It was good that we decided to stay and eat dinner. We order the pizza with roasted onion, garlic sauces and bacon with arugula. It was awesome. The wine was great too. The service was on pointe, and we enjoyed our date night looking out the front window and people watching. read more

Came in on a Saturday night with a dead (2 others inside at 7:30p) friend and it was an "eh" experience. We each had 3 glasses of wine, over a 2.5 hours time span and it was $95 (a bit steep for the wines ordered, but not terrible). Pros Selection- The place has a great selection of bottles of wine, pour (single glass options), and Teay's Brewing beers to choose from. Clean- The place was spotless and had a great interior Music- The playlist was great! Everything from Hozier to Taylor Swift to Ben Folds... Cons Service- As noted by others, the service was not the best. Could have been worse, but could have been a lot better. What a glorious Sunday morning I spent at The Cellar Wine Bistro! I was riding solo so I sat at the bar...no reservation and hoping for the best...and was able to sit immediately. Everything beginning to end was absolutely wonderful and relaxing and delicious! Watching the room of guest being served I can tell you with certainty the portions are generous. I went with the Chorizo Tortillas, as I was told by my fantastic bartender/waitress it's an item that rotates on and off the menu. The Poached eggs were not a disappointment. Sometimes when I cut into a "poached" egg it's actually a hard egg. The fresh, delicious warm yolk flow was so satisfying lol. The music...perfect. The volume...perfect. The atmosphere...just what I needed. 100% will be back in two weeks for the next brunch. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to the cellar. The service was fantastic and the wine selection was varied and good IMO. I had the pan seared salmon, which I definitely recommend, and that's from someone that doesn't normally like salmon. I had fun with the wine flight and then settled in with a warm and comforting red wine from Kiona Estates. If you are like me and visiting your BoilerMaker, eventually you may grow tired of tailgate Boiler Gold... don't get me wrong, I love People's Brewing... but sometimes I just want a nice glass of wine.... Finally got to try out their Brunch menu. I got their eggs benedict which was really delicious (and came with three eggs!). The only thing I felt was a bit off was the raw tomato in there... I think it would have enhanced the flavours if they had roasted it. Salmon was on point. Their croque madame was fantastic. Definitely recommend this. My friend got their nutella crepe which was a little too sweet. Probably best sharing this with someone. Mimosa's were yummy and overall, a great experience. I'd definitely go back. I have been Here several times this year and last week was my last time. Every. Single. Time. Some of the staff is super rude. The woman with shoulder length blonde hair is the worst. What a great spot! We stopped by for happy hour, so can't speak to their food, but it was exactly what we were looking for. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to grab a table on a Wednesday evening with only a ~5 minute wait. Since we happily timed our visit on a Wednesday, we were able to take advantage of wine Wednesday deals -- $5 for a seriously generous pour. There were ~5 different options for the special. I opted for a Syrah that I thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely love to come back in the future (and try some food next time!). read more

I headed to The Cellar after a day of hiking and stopping at breweries with my beer loving husband. The space is elegant and intimate. It was early enough that Michelle, one of the owners, had time to chat. The wines by the glass menu is is small but nicely balanced. I didn't check out the full wine list as I knew a bottle was out of the question but two glasses of barbera was a good choice. The $15 cheese tray came with decisions (French, Italian, sweet or savory sides) so I asked Michelle's opinion. We settled on olive tapenade and onion chutney. It came with three cheeses, melba toast, apples, raw almonds and grapes. It was a very generous portion and beautifully presented. The melba was perfect and I would LOVE the chef's recipe. If only the Cellar Wine Bistro wasn't 90 miles from home, I would be a loyal and frequent guest. read more

Their imaginative food offerings were hampered by a few missteps this evening. The Fried Green Tomatoes were crispy, but missing seasoning. The crab cakes were tasty, but overcooked. The Tonkatsu Lettuce Wraps also contained overcooked pork cutlet. I'm sure these can be adjusted for a better next visit. read more
