We even called and nobody would pick up. If he had only helped us after the first message we couldve got some food. Not the way to treat someone as old as me. They have a unique presentation, giving you a one of a kind experience- not the typical ho-hum event one may have become accustomed to from other caterers in the area. The chefs on staff are immensely talented, educated, and have years of experience working from areas across the county: Sundance, the Cape, Montreal, and NYC (working with bands such as U2). The servers now on staff are also quite experienced and very personable. I have had several wonderful interactions with servers, chefs, the staff manager as well as the owner- Jay Crucio. They actually cut strawberries into quarters. The 2 dishes was chicken ,lettuce , pasta, and ground sausage all cheap food that was not even hot and the church had a full kitchen that we paid for seperately.Everything was served on extra small paper plates and plastic utensils.I later called Alice and asked for at least a return of our INSIDENTAL fee of $1800 and was told NO.She would not tell me what exactlty what insidentals were and got no response. This company has no buisness calling themselves a caterer, I wouldn,t hire them for a chiids party never mind a meal for adults. My family and relatives could not beleive we paid what we did for that so called catered event , we were embarrased . We told them what we paid because we didn't want them to feel we tried to do this cheaply. I can tell you any reviews above a (1) must have been given there relatves. Great Circle did not disappoint and treated us to simply amazing food and hospitality. The staff was extremely professional and almost invisible(in a good way) during the reception on September 1st at the Portsmouth Elks Club. As expected, the raw bar was top notch, and the tenderloin popovers, cheddar bites, bacon wrapped scallops, and deviled eggs were so tasty I barely had room left for the main course because I couldn't stop taking more! Our entree selections were similarly satisfying with a delicious chicken dish, glazed rainbow baby carrots, and their clam chowder being notable standouts. The sirloin carving station was a real hit, particularly with their fig and wilted arugula accomplishments, and Chef Ned's bright and engaging personality made this event really stand out with a friendly greeting and engaging conversation for all, both young and old. The whole team was exceedingly friendly and engaged, not cool and aloof like some service staff can be. I'd particularly like to give a shout-out to Jen who not only guided us through all of the planning steps leading up to the big day, but also was kind enough to go to the store after her set up was done and pick up more ice for us for our self-furnished beverage station. Many caterers would have treated this as a "not my problem"situation since we weren't paying them to provide beverages, but she went above and beyond to help ensure our event was a success. Victoria is amazing to work with, and you can tell she loves her job and will do anything to make sure her couples' special day is perfect. Mezzanine has an expansive menu of handcrafted delectable options. We wanted a taco bar for dinner from day one, and Mezzanine offered an elevated taco bar that was wedding appropriate, and allowed us to make customizations along the way. Booking almost 2 years in advance, we also knew their traditional menu options were perfect if we changed our minds for a plated dinner. Their pricing is also very fair and allowed us to stay within our budget while also having an impressive spread. They are flexible and easy to work with and when COVID downsized our venue and list to the backyard, they didn't miss a beat. On the day of, the appetizers and taco bar were all delicious and the guests all raved about the food! The bartender service was great and kept drinks going all night. Their staff was friendly and service was top notch - they brought our wedding food dreams to life! I highly recommend Mezzanine to anyone who is looking for catering (and if I ever have an event in the future, I'm calling them). I contacted Dan through email, he was prompt and polite. I came up with a menu to host 25 people at my home. Dan delivered the food hot and ready for serving. We had Penne with Mama Rosa marinara, Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, turkey wraps, roasted veggie wraps, garlic bread and salad. All excellent! The food was outstanding and there was so much of it. We were lucky enough to have plenty of leftovers for the weekend for our out of town guests. I can not rave enough about the food, service and delivery.
