Rachael and Rachel were a delight to work with. I found them through a StreetEasy listing, and they showed me the unit I inquired about as well as several other units that also met my criteria. Ultimately I ended up renting the one that I had initially asked about, and the landlord and super have been as responsive as Rachael suggested. The whole process was extremely professional, with very fast and clear communication, all questions and concerns addressed quickly and thoroughly. I had just been ghosted by a shady realtor, so Rachael and Rachel were a breath of fresh air. Once I was ready to move, we went from application to keys in about 3 days. I've been in my new apartment almost a week and love it. Thanks! read more

Emily Ackerman helped me locate the perfect property for me and my kids. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. From our very first meeting, Emily's personal service was on full display and made a great impression. She was very thorough in getting to know the characteristics of my dream property, which I very much appreciated. I felt that Emily's wealth of experience in the neighborhood allowed her to provide tailored advice on what was possible and at what price range. I appreciate that she never tried to push me into things that fit outside of my range of characteristics. Her process made me feel heard. Throughout my search, Emily remained very professional and involved, keeping me informed on new listings and neighborhood trends. Whenever there was an open house or property information I needed, she was very quick to provide answers. She took a lead in addressing concerns effectively so that I didn't have to worry about issues. Emily's responsiveness and clear communication throughout the buying process was truly second to none, and I appreciated her ability to be available whenever possible. Even when she was on vacation, her partners were able to fill in seamlessly. I was pleasantly surprised to see no drop off in service, as her partners also where very professional in how they handled my search. Most important in all of this, Emily provided a stress-free experience. Searching for the perfect property and the subsequent buying process causes great stress and can have many hiccups along the way. She was patient with all the different search changes I initiated, never making me feel rushed. She managed a VERY complex real estate transaction with grace, trying her best to minimize my stress. She did this all with tremendous amount of warmth and care, which very much put me at ease. I felt that Emily and her partners truly cared about helping me find the perfect place for me. I cannot speak highly enough about my experience working with Emily and Cody on my recent home purchase. It's rare to be able to take advantage of the perfect combination of insider insight and knowledge along with the professionalism, patience and sincerity The Catalyst Team offered me. They took the time to really listen and support my decision-making process. Their candor and humor made my transaction a pleasure from the start of my search to closing. I surely won't be the first to recommend the Catalyst Team, but I may be the loudest. read more

Emily and the whole Catalyst Team are incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and overall a delight to work with. Not only did she provide up-to-date education for us, she went above and beyond to get our home in the eyes of the right buyers. Working with Emily and her team is a seamless experience that relieves so many of the pressures of buying/selling. It's such a relief to work with a team who genuinely has your best interests at heart. read more

I cannot recommend Rachel and Rachel from the Catalyst team! Honestly I had like 5 days to find-pack-move into a brand new apartment and this was the smoothest, most professional and supportive experience ever! My journey was amazing! Thursday afternoon I went on an adventure and saw 3 apartments (only had signed up for one tour) and loved the first so applied that night at 9:00pm. Then by the next morning around 11am I found out I got the apartment (legit soooo fast). Then day before move in I was sent an extremely informative email about move in and the rest is history. BEST EXPERIENCE EVER, honestly I couldn't have done it with out them! read more

Piers was a gem of an agent to work with! I originally reached out to him on a weekend since I saw his number on street easy. Usually, I receive no response until the weekdays from agents but he was so quick to respond! Piers is extremely communicative and was genuinely interested in helping me find the right apartment. He was quick to understand my taste in apartments, and the vision I was going for, so had no trouble recommending places for me to tour even if they weren't initially on my list. Apartment hunting with Piers by my side really felt like I was looking for places with a friend - highly, highly recommend! Thanks for everything, Piers! read more

Approximately one year ago, my partner and I started our journey to find our "forever home" with Beth Gittleman and her team. My partner had several "musts" for our new home: southern exposure, walking distance to a park, close proximity to subway & bus and an outdoor space -- all for an unrealistically low price point. Within a few months Beth showed us a co-op on Lenox Ave & 116th Street that miraculously met all of my partner's needs.  From putting in our offer to putting together the board package to the excruciatingly long wait to our closing day, Beth and her team where there for us. There were times when we wanted to pull our hair out (well, not me because I don't have any hair left) with the process, Beth was there for us. She went above and beyond her call of duty. We both cannot recommend Beth and her team enough. If you are looking for a home -- or want to sell your home -- Beth is the person who will make your hunt an absolute pleasure. Five stars isn't enough, we would give her 100 stars (because five doesn't reflect the amount of hard work that she put in to make our dream come true). read more

Piers Portfolio has been such a great agent to work with! Even after he handed me the keys to my new apartment he has been of great help in answering any questions I had post lease signing. It was clear since Day 1 that he had my best interest at heart. Finding a home is no easy feat and I have to say he made a very stressful time for me so much easier. Thank you! read more

I was introduced to Emily through a mutual friend. She immediately helped me feel comfortable! Through a series of questions she helped me narrow down what I was really looking for in an apartment. I then had the good fortune of working with Piers! He was incredible. Right off the bat, he was so sweet and took the pressure off the situation! He immediately went to work. Every apartment he presented to me were in budget, in my ideal neighborhoods and absolutely gorgeous! It was clear that he had paid attention to detail while listening to what I was looking for - I seriously loved them all. I cannot recommend these two more! They were kind, efficient and responsive. You are in good hands with this group! read more

Emily and her team did an outstanding job to help me sell my apartment at a much higher price than I originally expected. Emily and her team were very creative, sensitive to my needs and also super fun to work with. I highly recommend the Catalyst Team! They are the best in town! read more

I had a fantastic experience with them as a first time buyer. I could not have achieved home ownership without the gift of TIME they gave me--time spent explaining concepts, time helping with the very length co-op application. And time spent being 1000% on top of available listings that suited my needs. They're also just lovely people--super nice, but able to be tough, relentless advocates when the situation calls for that. They are not the first brokers I worked with. I have found in NYC that many brokers have a battle-weary negativity and enter the process primed to tell you that you can't get what you want, you better reduce expectations and feel lucky for whatever you can get. That's just a miserable way to work and the Catalyst team showed me it doesn't have to be this way. They were realistic, but also positive. And we found a great place! read more

We cannot sing the praises of Beth Gittleman and her staff highly enough. We sold two apartments with her and then bought a third and we have never had such a positive real estate experience. Not only is Beth affable and a delight to spend time with, but she possesses experience beyond her years, can translate reams of big data into clear points, is a brilliant strategist when it comes to negotiations, and has a deep understanding of general market trends but also the specifics of each neighborhood in the city--even every corner it seems. If you're selling, she can get you over the list price. If you're buying, she helps you at every step of the way, from putting in an offer to getting your package through the co-op board. Don't waste your time with other agents. Beth is frank, funny, level-headed, informed, honest, and a tactical genius. read more

Cannot recommend them enough. My agent was Rachael Braunstein. She was really supportive and intentional with what she showed me. She showed me apartments that targeted what I was looking for, but she also showed me various options that she thought I'd also be happy with. I ended up signing the lease of an apartment I LOVE that checks the boxes of all of my needs and more. All of the correspondence is super speedy and and efficient. Rachel Policar Marrandino was so professional and friendly in her coordination with Rachael. Thank you! read more

Max Rhyser was an incredibly patient and wise agent as my husband and I searched for our first NYC coop. This was a huge learning process for us, since our financials limited our options and we were new to the NYC market and process, but Max was there every step of the way, sharing his expert advice and consulting others at his firm when it was useful. After a few months of searching, Max found a beautiful place that was not yet listed, so we were able to make an early offer which was accepted. We are very happy with the price we paid and the apartment itself! All to Max's credit. Highly recommended. --Charles, NYC read more

We had a great experience working with Emily Ackerman and Daoud Heidami at Bohemia Realty. Daoud and Emily make a great team and helped us navigate the entire process of purchasing a new home. A few things stood out. First, they are very responsive. I could reach them by email or phone any time I needed help and they would quickly respond. If they did not have an immediate answer, they would let us know that they were working on it. We had significant time constraints early in the house hunting process and they set up appointments efficient blocks that worked for us. They were very organized and even set up an excel sheet to help keep track of everything. Second, they took the time to learn about what we were looking for and help narrow our search to a very specific neighborhood and type of apartment. Part of that process was learning about what we wanted and they patiently helped us evaluate the pros and cons of different options. Over time, we went from vague plans to concrete and confident criteria. Third, they were very helpful when we needed advice or recommendations about related services that they did not provide themselves, such as an appraiser or loan officer. And when they gave recommendations, they followed up to see whether those people worked out. When one of their recommendations was merely average instead of excellent, they took our feedback into account and updated their list of contacts. We are using a contractor they recommended for renovations and, so far, he's been great. Fourth, buying a home (especially for the first time, as we were) is a challenging and complicated process and I felt that Daoud and Emily were 100% on our side. When there were problems with a place that we had seen, they pointed them out. They also were proactive about negotiations with the seller and creative about making things work for us. I would definitely recommend Emily and Daoud to a friend. (Did I mention that they are super friendly and have a sense of humor, which makes the whole thing seem like an adventure?) read more

Jen Heitel is amazing! As a first-time home buyer in New York City, we were nervous. Meeting Jen not only put us at ease, but made the process enjoyable even during a pandemic that struck in the middle of our process (yikes!). She is knowledgeable, solution-oriented, nice, funny and very easy-going... and most of all, knows the market, players and industry well. No question is too small for Jen, even if you ask it 3X over the course of the process because you forget. And, she is quick to respond to texts and emails. She navigated us through a bidding war, a pandemic and entertained our crazy questions along the way while we juggled two little kids and dogs - and we definitely had some curve balls thrown our way! We will absolutely use Jen again when the time comes. She is a gem in the real estate industry! 5 gold stars for helping us find and close on our co-op, we are so thankful! read more

I am so pleased to have dealt with the Catalyst team when looking/ obtaining our newest apartment! Hands down just a great overall experience. Piers and Cody were both very attentive and informative... I truly felt like we were in such great hands. We conversed with them both digitally due to COVID and I couldn't have asked for a more prompt and efficient process. Finding an apartment in Manhattan comes with a lot of obstacles and the amount of stress and worry that was avoided was unbelievable. I will most certainly be referring them to friends in the future! read more

Beth is the absolute BEST!!! We randomly met Beth when my wife and I went to look at an apartment that she was showing. While we did not end up purchasing that apartment, my wife and I both looked at each other afterward and said "I want this lady to be our agent!" From the jump, Beth made us feel heard and supported in our quest to buy our first apartment in NYC. She was gentle where she needed to be, assertive only when it benefited us. She took what seemed like an endless amount of time with us, getting to know us, asking relevant questions and ultimately helped us find a home that we absolutely love!!! We can honestly say that without Beth and the whole Catalyst Team, we would not be living where we are today. If integrity and class are two of the most important factors in a real estate agent for you, look no further than Beth Gittleman and The Catalyst Team at Compass! read more

We definitely had a pleasant experience working with Rachel, and also Rachael! They were clear and quick in their communication, and really went to bat for us. While we didn't end up renting with them, I would recommend this team for anyone! We felt safe, wearing masks and signing Covid waivers, and generally had a good time while viewing apartments. Information was exchanged quickly, and it felt very informative and upfront. Loved the honesty, and willingness to consider various options. Thank you to the Catalyst Team! read more

We used the services of Emily and Beth to sell our 1-bedroom apartment to upgrade to a 2-3 bedroom. We met with a few brokers before and felt immediately comfortable with them, on our first meeting they came fully prepared with a full analysis of the market in our neighborhood, comparable listings, etc. We decided to work with them, and if I could give them more than 5 stars I definitely would. Everything was perfect: they were very always available, extremely responsive to our emails/texts. They also did not try to push us into buying something we were hesitant with (they were not trying to get the commission as fast as possible, but were genuinely looking for our forever home). They also pushed us outside of our comfort zone, showing us apartments which were outside of our criteria sometimes (but always checking with us first if we wanted to see those, so we don't lose time). They assisted us in everything with the offers, the bank, etc. They were great advisors on all aspects, they were great negotiators. And we found a place we would have never dreamt of! And on a personal note, they are really fun to work with. I very very highly recommend them, there is nothing they could have done differently (and I'm usually the kind of person being very critical!) read more

I couldn't have been luckier than to stumble into the Bohemia Real Estate office on a blustery February afternoon with only a hint of an idea to buy a Harlem condo and to be given Emily as my guide on this adventure. She and Daoud made condo hunting into a fun adventure. They were there for us whenever we needed them, and helped us to negotiate some tricky appraisals. They were definitely there for us as the buyer, and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Emily Ackerman is passionate about what she does, and it shows in her honesty, frankness, integrity, gentle persistence, sense of humor, and her understanding of how important it is to find the RIGHT home for you. I would recommend her to everyone. She will be your champion. She will listen to and hear what you need. I am so happy with my first home purchase, and Emily Ackerman had A LOT to do with that. She is the best. Period. read more

Daoud Heidami and Emily Ackerman are both terrific. They are insightful and knowledgable about the market. Buying a home is nerve-wracking, and both Emily and Daoud were instrumental in guiding me through the process and possible outcomes. They are very quick to return calls, completely on the ball. And there is nothing hard sell about them. They are all about their clients, honest without being pushy. Plus they both pretty delightful people! I think when you work with a realtor, you want someone who is completely on your side, who doesn't make you feel like a number. Emily and Daoud fit the bill. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

It was a blessing running into Emily in the elevator after I lost my dear uncle in NY who lived in the same building that Emily does. Her compassion, professionalism, knowledge of the NYC real Estate and absolute commitment to help me and my family was what made me list both my uncles' properties with the team of Emily and Daoud. They are a great duo who helped facilitating the complex maze of will probate and selling of the real estate under a very difficult and emotional status. I might add that I live in California and we had to do everything remotely and via phone and text. Thank you both for being there and doing such an amazing job, thank you for all the follow up and going out of your way so many times with helping with little things that I needed help with. They also help with recommending a contractor who did a great job doing the cleanup, fixes and paintings in preparation for listing the properties. Thank you again for everything, I am forever grateful to you. read more
