One local described the Castle Inn to me as a traditional country inn. I hate to disappoint you, this is not the countryside, it's still the burbs. However, that takes nothing away from the country inn feel once inside the pub and the cosy country decor and smell of woodsmoke feel natural and comforting unlike the many pubs who strive for this effect.
Lunch was pretty standard pub fare, nothing exciting, nothing awful and the selection of beers was good as was the service. Returning in the evening for a drink, the welcome was warm and it had a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
This is a well-run and welcoming place for a drink or meal, while the food is perfectly acceptable and enjoyable, if they could up the quality of the choices and cooking it could easily make my must-go-to list for that Brit pub experience when in the area. read more
