I think it's time I said something about the Carpetman. I am a designer who has ordered hundreds of rugs, remnants, and wall-to-walls from them and over the years and have not only been impressed by their selection but by the consistent service from both the front of the house and the installers themselves. I have also installed quite a lot of homes with their window/shade services and have never been let down. Like a well-oiled machine these guys remove the worst part of my job and that is a problem on installation day. I wish the rest of my vendors could be this reliable. The guys are most courteous and handle all kinds of interior situations whether it be kids and dogs on hand on install-day or a room full of expensive furniture that needs to moved.If there is a problem( v. rare and that would only be from the mfg's end) Robert, the owner, always takes care of it immediately and tries to resolve it to my and my client's satisfaction. I have access through Trade resources to a lot floor coverings, rugs, etc but have found this saves me a trip to the city for sourcing on local jobs and even city jobs. They have a great selection and know their market well. Take it from a pro who relies on consistent service and quality and give these guys a visit. Ask for Veronica if you can, who will go above and beyond to help you with your needs whether its a remnant or 5000 sf of wall-to-wall. read more

Felt overwhelmingly compelled to write this review which is huge for me because I have never written a review before, even though I have had great customer service in the past, my experience with Susan at the Carpet Man was so above and beyond that it would be wrong of me to not commend her in my highest regard. Although I have not done my floor renovations yet, I have been shopping around aimlessly trying to find exactly what I wanted. I met Susan and not only did she spend thorough time with me explain ideas and options in detail but she was so personable it felt as if I was out shopping with my close friend. Through her input and unique styling ideas I have completely decided (finally) what is going to make my house complete bc my flooring has actually put a hold on my renovations because nothing was grabbing me, until I found my perfect fit at the Carper Man only due to Susan and her help, ideas, genuine caring, mindfulness and overall expertise. I recently visited The Carpet Man, on County Rd. 39, in Southampton. The staff made buying carpet for my Master bedroom and loft apartment a pleasure! The showroom is spacious and very appealing. The options for floor covering ideas seemed endless. They offered various price ranges, well known brand names, and even special sale carpets. Installers came to my home to measure the rooms when it was convenient for my schedule. The estimate was quick and complimentary. Throughout the various departments, the staff was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I highly recommend The Carpet Man for all of your floor covering needs. Shopping for carpet could have easily been my worst nightmare. Being an uneducated buyer left me feeling insecure about making this blind purchase, however shopping at the Carpetman has proven to be not only extremely informative but actually an enjoyable experience. The sales staff were all so friendly and welcoming. I found them to be very knowledgeable and have an exceptional eye for color and design. Once I finally made my selection, which I love by the way..my salesperson Veronica was so overly accommodating and was able to work around my busy schedule . I had recently purchased a new area rug for my living room and decided to purchase from this store due to some recommendations from friends. I was delighted to work with Susan and Ron in picking out and facilitating my delivery of my new rug. Susan was very helpful in giving me insight on what rugs and colors would work for my home. Once my purchase was complete a delivery date was made and my rug came on time. Delivery man named Clemente and crew completed the delivery and didn't leave until I was completely satisfied with the location and clean up was done very professionally. I recently had several carpets in my home cleaned by the Carpetman. My husband and I wanted to try someone local, as the last experience we had with a national chain was dreadful. The Carpetman did an excellent job at a reasonable rate. The gentleman sent to do the work could not have been more pleasant or helpful. He moved the furniture, and spent extra time drying the carpets, as we were a few days away from Thanksgiving, and he knew we were having a houseful. Both the area rugs and the wall-to-wall carpets came out great - all the stains were gone, and they looked brand new. Would highly recommend their carpet cleaning service. read more

I want to commend The Carpet Man for its outstanding customer service and support. We ordered a rug which was customized beautifully but the weave was going in the wrong direction. The Carpet Man checked in on the delivery and when we presented a photo of the rug, which was paid for and delivered, they agreed it was sewn incorrectly and replaced it with a new one in two days. We recently purchased a house in Sag Harbor and used the Carpet man for our Area Rugs and Window treatments. Robert the owner is an honest hard working man who absolutely did what he said was to be done. They were on time and the quality of the work and subsequent follow up was very good.
