Who knew that furniture disassembly and reassembly was a thing? I certainly didn't until I treated…read moremyself to an extra cozy Boston Interiors sectional and the sofa portion wouldn't fit up my front or back staircase. Whoops! I had already been waiting two months for delivery, so to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Then the panic kicked in. Since it was a custom sectional, I would get majorly dinged if I returned it. But what other options were there? That's where Melo and Sons came in. The delivery guy put me on the phone with his manager to talk it over. Yes, returning the sectional was an option, as was taking out my dining room window to bring the sofa portion in that way (hell no!) Or... I could have some pros disassemble it at their warehouse then reassemble it in my living room. Of my three options, the third was the winner by a longshot. As I was the first delivery of the day, I patiently waited until Melo and Sons opened then gave them a ring. Joanne immediately answered and put my nerves at ease. It was obvious I wasn't the first numpty to purchase a too big piece of furniture that needed saving by them. After providing her all the requested information, I had a delivery date for about three weeks out. By the time my Boston Interiors salesperson called to discuss the failed delivery, everything was already tucked and tied with Melo and Sons. When the big day finally arrived, Mike and George showed up right on time and quickly got to work. They laid down moving blankets to protect the floor then brought up the disassembled sofa in several carefully wrapped pieces. Aside from being the consummate professionals, they were funny to boot. It took them less than two hours to reassemble the sofa and at long last reunite it with its other half. That evening, after three long months, I finally got to relax on and enjoy my sectional in its full glory. All thanks to Melo and Sons and their niche specialty.

The team was able to take it apart in Ipswich, bring the pieces to my new apartment in Beverly, and rebuild it in my living room. Very Happy with RWB. When some appliance delivery/installers from the Big Box retailer in the area…read moredamaged my grandmother's hutch I was distraught with the damage inflicted. I called Restorers without Borders and they explained to me the process. They will come to the house, do the estimate and take the piece. There's a charge for this of course and I understood this. This charge is applied towards any work you do, and I knew I was going to get this piece repaired so I accepted this. They came to the house and described exactly what they could do and offered me several options on fixing the other flaws in the piece. While I was arguing with the delivery company on coverage, RWB held my piece for several weeks in their shop. I gave them the go ahead to do the work after a few weeks, and I have to say, good things come to those who wait. They delivered my piece yesterday and I have to say, it looks better than ever, and they even fixed a bunch of other issues with the table free of charge! They exceeded my expectations. They did a fantastic job, I honestly cannot even believe how they matched the finish and wood inlays of a piece of furniture that is 80+ years old. They aren't the cheapest, but for things that carry enormous sentimental value, who cares. If you have furniture you really care about, these are the guys you should use. They have been very honest and up front from the beginning. The guys that actually do the work come out to look at your furniture and they are the ones delivering it. So they really care on how careful they are with the delivery and handling of your furniture. I'm sure they aren't the cheapest, and they are probably aren't the fastest. But if being done right and quality are the most important to you, then these are the guys to use. Period end. Thank you again RWB, my grandmother would be thrilled. Now I need to yell at the kids to keep their hands off that nice table I just had fixed!

But I'll try for both of these areas. **Knowledge: I needed a handyman with creative problem solving skills as well as basic plumbing and electrical. Hard to find that combo. Many handyman said I would have to hire three people. Hired Arthur last week to remodel two bathrooms and help with other general issues before new tenants moved into my Cambridge condo. He first helped my father and I remove toilets, vanities, cabinets, and lights from the bathrooms. He was great at working alongside my father and I and teaching us as he went, since we could do basic removal of items. We bought new items for the bathroom and he installed them quickly, giving us options for installation as he went along. He hooked up the plumbing and even made adjustments quickly when it conflicted with my new cabinets. He hooked up new lighting and moved the outlet to a new location. He helped me fit a flat lighting kit into a tough corner space by bringing his own piece of stained wood and cutting it to fit, and moved the outlet box, perfectly. I also had him install a track lighting kit, fix my kitchen sink, apply caulking to the shower, and look at my fan. He knows his stuff. He even would swing by Home Depot on the way to my condo and pick extra things up to help the job. He also had a full set of tools and allowed my father and I to use them so we could all be working at the same time. **Professional: It's very hard to find both a skilled and professional/communicative handyman. I had read that Arthur used to be a financial analyst so I knew he would be organized and responsive, and indeed he was. He emailed and called and texted with updates - very helpful. He even came back a few days later when I needed help, and didn't charge me for the full amount. Very trustworthy. I'll be using him again!
