In short, Camelot isn't about providing the customer with a good experience; rather, it is about emptying the customer's pockets as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. Whether or not the customer enjoys their experience at this establishment is of no concern to Camelot. Dishonest, unclean, and possibly criminal place with unattractive girls and rude staff. I went here a few times over the years, sometimes with friends. This place sucks. As soon as you go in, you will be endlessly harassed by the dancers and/or waitresses to let them sit with you and order a drink. If you finally cave in, they'll order something that is served in a thimble-sized glass but costs $20. Or maybe they'll get two drinks, so that's $40. There are no listed prices; you have no idea what you are paying for, which means they can charge whatever they want. Once they get a drink out of you, they'll probably leave and go harass someone else. The girls aren't attractive. They do stuff like upside down splits on the ceiling while hanging from the stripper pole. But I'm not here to see gymnastics, and doing that requires very big thigh muscles. Do you want to see girls who look like the Kardashians and weight 170+? I don't think so. But they are all "thick" here. Many of them have tattoos too. The place isn't clean. They don't even wipe the tables when someone leaves; they just pick up the used napkins. I got sick like 3 times in a row after going here. I started only ordering bottles of beer and wiping them down. So don't get anything served in a glass - it probably hasn't been washed in months. I don't want to even think about how contaminated the food must be. The black bouncer is really rude. He checked my ID and then didn't even move away from the door to let me in; I had to squeeze past him. Another time he was entering as I was leaving but instead of letting me pass in the narrow doorway, he just pushed past me. Apparently making way for a paying customer challenges his fragile manhood too much. I strongly suspect this place of stealing my credit card number. I foolishly thought it was ok to use a credit card here (it shows up on your statement as "Rah's of DC"). But my number was stolen like 4 times over 3 years. I switched to using cash and my card hasn't been stolen since. I can't prove it was this place that did it, but I think it probably was. Strip clubs are scummy places. There probably isn't a way to avoid it, other than being upfront about the high prices, and trying to keep things safe. But this place is just sleazy. I challenge them to put up an itemized drink price list like any other bar. But they're too dishonest here for that, I'm sure. My advice: go to a nearby bar instead. I thought I had made reservations on their website for 8:00 PM for five people. When we got to the establishment, the bouncer out front greeted us and I told him we had a reservation for 8:00 as I pulled out my ID. He asked who we were there to see, a question that took me aback as I we were just there to see the dancers. I told him as much and he replied that they didn't do reservations - which absolutely took me completely by surprise as I distinctly remember making reservations on the website just before 6 PM that evening. No problem, he said, we can get you a table. Until he looked at my friend's ID. It was an Under 21 ID but she was 24 and her ID was valid until 2025. Because of the orientation of her ID, the bouncer told us it was an invalid ID and that it was a $15,000 fine if he were to let her in. He then told her to go away. My friend immediately became confused as she is a bar manager in Northern Virginia and had been allowed into multiple over 21 establishments in the D.C. are with that ID. The bouncer promptly mistook her confusion and requests for clarification as belligerence and immediately became hostile toward us. He finally got frustrated with her questions and told his partner: "you've got this" before going inside in a huff. Turns out, this was a Metro DC cop who was working this job for extra money. The bouncer who replaced him agreed with my friend that it was a valid ID and he would have let us in if it would have been him instead of the off duty cop. But the decision had already been made and he informed us that there was nothing more he could do for her. I can't begin to express how rude the off duty cop turned bouncer was to my friend. Not even being allowed to get in the front door, thanks to the overzealous Metro PD cop, is why I'm giving this establishment a one star rating - which is a pity because I hear such good things. So close to being a 5-star review, except for the rude, melodramatic, incompetent server. Pros: The girls are generally VERY hot! I had no problem getting a front row seat (you obviously need to give each dancer at least a couple of dollars when seated in front of stage. Otherwise there is bar seating or table seating if you want to eat there). They know how to dance, and it's a full nude club which puts them ahead of some others in DC that are not. Cons: The server I had was terrible! First bad sign was when I asked for a beer and singles, and she failed to bring back my singles. I had to remind her I wanted change. Then you are required to constantly have a drink in front of you, which they don't tell you ahead of time. The beers are $15!!!! That's excessive even for a strip club. I was the #1 person throwing dollars at strippers that night, but they still wouldn't let me take a break from drinking after 3 beers. Also, the server straight up walked past me 3-4 times when I was trying to get her attention and get another round, despite it being only moderately crowded. So I went to the bar instead to order a drink. Next thing I know, she was yelling at me that I can't do that, this is her section. Well then maybe attend to your section, honey! Then she got the manager, who also demanded I have a 4th beer and get out, to which I chose the later. I spent a lot here, and it wasn't appreciated. Last Saturday night my friends and I left the 930 club around 1:30am and made our way to Camelot to meet up with some other friends so that we could spend the last hour or so of our night there since according to their website, their Saturday hours are 1pm - 3am. We arrived at 2 but were denied entrance. The bouncer at the door told us the the club was closed and that our party of 7 could not enter the venue. When I told him their business hours advertised on their website say they're open until 3, he told us that no one is allowed in after 2.. I looked at my watch and it was 2:03. Funny thing is we were actually there before 2, but were waiting on our friend to finish smoking his cig. We clearly had no way of knowing about this totally random policy. I thought it was really strange that a business establishment didn't want business during their hours of operation. I really didn't care about seeing strippers strip, I was more annoyed that we left the show at 930 club early to go there only because they were open late... And they actually were... But weren't at the same time. Granted, papadosio was playing a pretty weak show... Buttt we all would've obviously much preferred seeing music over nothing. The bouncer who looks just like Joseph Addai (RB for the Colts) let us in. It gave me a sense of security. I felt like I could out run him if it came down to it. There's a tacky bronze statue of a knight in the entrance way. I guarantee he's the only Knight in Shining Armor in this place. I say let's be more honest and replace the Knight with a Mirror. I'd like to see the sleezy look on my face as I walk in. It might bring some shame to me, or I might just stop and fix my hair a little. Now the story to be told-- The tag along in our group has an elitist personality. We joke that if he eats anything under $10 for lunch, he always says he feels sick. Our waitress who refers to herself as Golden Vagina had a pretty good sense of humor. She apparently woke up one morning and said to herself "I'm going to treat my clientele like what they are, douche bags". So she quickly assigned the Elitist in our group the nickname Cunt Nugget. Now I don't know what a Cunt Nuggent is, but he didn't enjoy the name much. So what are friends for right? Did we step in and put Golden Vagina in her place? Fuck NO! We paid all the other dancers in the club to refer to him as Cunt Nugget the entire night. It brought tears to my eyes. "I will not be treated like this by some wenches, I demand you bring me another cup of tea!" ~ Exaggeration I expected more out of the girls. I heard a lot of good things about this place but it turned out to be just OK. Under the heavy black lighting you can see the white residue from upper lip waxing some of them had in the morning. Each dancer dances to two songs and picks it from a jukebox (lame, I love strip club djs and their pony tails). Dance one is usually topless and dance two is bottomless (not that they put their tops back on and then take off their bottoms, look you in the eye and claim you never saw them fully naked). It depresses me to see guys tipping during song #1. Rookies. I don't classify this place as Classy, or even Dirty... They need to either slut it up or clean it up. Give it some identity. I'm also now suggesting that all strip clubs implement a new rule... Instead of banning cell phone use (c'mon man, i'm just checking the scores), there should be a 30 second hand in pocket rule. You got 30 seconds to pull out more money or keep your fucking hands out of your pocket.
