Janet was our teacher and she moved us through the stations and helped us make delicious dumplings from all over the world. The class took about 2 1/2 hours which included a small break in between where we could go and sit outside in the lovely backyard and then eating time this was a lovely way to spend our Pride Sunday. Really nice way to meet new people and talk food.

Macarons are exceedingly and exceptionally difficult to get to absolute perfection. If this were a…read moreplace with two or three Michelin stars, I might be a little tougher. However, for a neighborhood dessert shop, these were as close to macaron perfection as can reasonably be expected. What I'm referring to is the crust/shell. If I'm correct, a textbook-perfect macaron shell is firm yet as delicate as a frozen soap bubble, with a much softer dough underneath. With these, I felt as though a hair (and I'm not exaggerating) of the firmness transferred from the shell to the dough. Again, I grant grace due to the inherent difficulty of perfecting this delicate pastry. Where these macarons truly shine, and do so more than any I've had previously, is their filling. I was able to try a salted caramel and a coffee. Both of these had very distinct flavors, not simply a generic sweetness with hints of something. I could have immediately identified these flavors, even if you hadn't told me what they were. While it was later in the evening and not busy, I still want to give points to the friendly and personable individual working behind the counter. Thus, while perhaps not a cross-town destination, Andersonville's Macaron Bar delivers products that can perfectly satisfy a sweet craving.

I've taken other baking and cooking classes at other places in the city and GMSS does it BEST. Always clean and enough materials or tools to share. The size of the class is good and not crowded. Also, the best part they email you the recipe which are very precise and detailed information. All the classes have produced DELICIOUS FOOD. Great for parties or events or something to do together with friends. I can't wait for the new calendar that comes out every month.

The class was structured well, and I feel like I could try making macarons again after this class! You get sent home with the how-to packet, as well as emailed a troubleshooting packet, and instructions on how to make the buttercream filling. It was the right mix of explanation and hands on experience. Overall both of us really enjoyed this class! At the end you get to fill some macarons for you to take home and enjoy later. My husband also loved them! Fun fact: if you go to 4 classes you get your fifth one free. Also if you have 5 people you can do a private class which sounds so fun! Can't wait to come back again.

Four friends and I signed up on a whim, and it turned into one of the most memorable evenings we've had together in ages. The highlight was learning how to make fresh fettuccine from scratch--yes, from scratch--and somehow the instructor Jason made the whole process feel both totally doable and ridiculously fun. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and buzzing with good energy. Jason was patient, hilarious, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through every step without ever making it feel intimidating. Before long, we were kneading dough, rolling it out like pros, and cheering each other on as our pasta strands got longer and more impressive. And the best part? Sitting down together at the end to enjoy the meal we created. The pasta was unbelievably fresh--silky, tender, and honestly better than many restaurant dishes I've had. Charles is patient and highly knowledgeable. He helps make the meal and gives tips along the way for cutting vegetables, storing food, and seasoning. At both drop-off and pickup, they greet you with smiles and take the time to share thoughtful updates about your child's day. And one detail that still amazes me: they do your child's laundry on-site. Game. Changer. I couldn't believe this when I heard it. The food at RMS is great, and we received frequent updates throughout the day, which made it so reassuring (and fun) to see how much our son was enjoying himself. He truly thrived at RMS. We would have happily stayed at RMS for years, but we ultimately moved our son to a preschool where his sister attends so we could have one dropoff/pickup. That said, RMS set an incredibly high bar--it will be hard, if not impossible, to match. For any RMS staff reading this - thank you, you are amazing and the impact you have on families is enormous. Being at RMS has helped shape my daughter into an amazing little person. She has grown close friendships, learned to be patient, tackled practical life skills, and picked up academics with great speed. RMS also has an amazing community of families. The school actively nurtures connection between the parents by throwing multiple amazing events each year, like a huge pizza and ice cream party each summer and an annual Halloween party. I strongly recommend the school!
