We came in about a month ago to treat our lil (big) girl to a cake for her 10th birthday. She demolished it and it was such a joy to see her love it so much. Just after her birthday she was diagnosed with an aggressive melanoma in her mouth. A couple of days ago we brought her in one last time to share a photo of her devouring the cake for the wall in the bakery. We were treating her to all the good stuff because it was her last day of celebrating life so we got her a little lamby muffin (she was having a very hard time eating) and we had mentioned the significance of the day to who we think is the owner maybe? She just gave it to us and told us we weren't paying and sent us on our way. It was so kind and still makes me tear up writing this. We love our little girl so much and it's amazing to have such a wonderful and compassionate bakery dedicated to our babies of the community. She's at peace now but forever lives on the wall here.

Dog loved it. Kids not so much. Lol. They wanted to try it so who was I to stop them.

This is a cute little shop where all the products in there are local small business owners. All kinds of treats, toys, and goodies for your fur baby. Their cakes are so cute and inexpensive. You can order in advance or they have some selections on hand. I've been there twice and found what I needed both times. Friendly staff also.

Highly highly recommend this place if you are looking for a special treat for your pup! I wanted to celebrate my dog's first gotcha day since I adopted him a year ago. I easily place an order for the donut cake online and event got to put in a custom message (not that dogs can read but it looks cute for pics lol) I scheduled the pickup and was able to grab it quickly on a Friday afternoon. The cake looked great! And my dog who typically only likes meat, cheese and peanut butter DEVOURED this cake. Literally ate the entire thing in 5 minutes. It was decent sized too. I think it would probably be too much cake for a dog smaller than 40 lbs. I will definitely order here again for a special occasion.

I first found out about the cake hound at Bexleys farmers market! They have cute little treats for my pup and he loves them! Since then I've ordered two cakes. The first one was a bone cake with a happy birthday, which I failed to take a photo of. Then more recently I got a "gotcha day" cake in the shape of a donut. Just so fun to order and do something a little extra for your favorite fur baby. The ordering is very easy and online. Pick up process was smooth. Everything about them is great :)

This cute shop is perfect for pups! We came here while dog sitting and was able to get her a perfect bite size treat. We liked that the ingredients are fresh and natural. The owner happened to show us a Possom cake she made us for another client -- it was precious! The store also has accessories and fancy dog treats that aren't baked. I'd definately come back again and again if I had a dog of my own.

I absolutely love The Cakehound! My pups have been eating goodies made by Teresa even before she started The Cakehound and we have never been disappointed! Whether it's a holiday themed dinner, a custom cake or cupcakes, we are always pleased with the finished product. Teresa is extremely responsive and will work with you on custom requests. She also very charitable and often donates a portion of her proceeds to local rescues! We wouldn't go anywhere else to get goodies for our dogs.

Oh my gosh. I wish I had a place like this in south Florida. Visited this location and the owner and her dog were amazing and so helpful. We got some dog treats and a personalized dog bone treat. Dogs were thrilled and we were super pleased!

I love, love, LOVE this dog bakery. The owner is awesome and is always so accommodating with orders. They always have the cutest baked goods and themed dinners fit for the time of year or pop culture (ie, choco tacos for cinco de mayo and pup dinner packs for Easter). I've ordered multiple cakes from here for pups birthdays, and countless treats for just because days. The Cakehound never disappoints. Very reasonably priced too!

However my overall experience was disappointing. The staff were not friendly and seemed annoyed when they had to find my cupcake order. After they found my order, they seemed annoyed that I wanted to order a drink. I ordered a matcha latte and it was just okay, but pretty pricey. The cupcakes themselves were severely disappointing. They were extremely tiny for the price. The cake was very dense and off putting. The frosting was also dense. I'm an extreme chocolate lover and did not enjoy the chocolate cupcakes and frosting at all. Everything just tasted very heavy. Their vanilla cake flavor and batter was better. It was slightly less dense and more palatable, but for the price I will not be ordering it again. Due to lack of service and food/drink quality and taste I will not be coming here again. There's better options in Columbus for this price point.

I needed some cupcakes for a gathering, and I saw the reviews so I thought I'd give them a try. I got up early to be there when they opened so I could have a good selection. I was pretty disappointed when I got there and there weren't that many options. I was also surprised at how small they were. The decorative topping is very simple. Then, when they said they were $4 a cupcake, I was even more surprised. If I hadn't made all the trouble to get here and if I didn't really need the cupcakes, I would have gone someplace else. I thought to myself, these better taste amazing. I bought a dozen cupcakes and made sure I got at least one of each flavor. Once I got home, I dug into one, just to see how they were. Once again, I'm disappointed. They don't even taste fresh. WTH?! Now I'm regretting serving the rest of them, because what if they aren't good as well? So disappointed. I got feedback from those at my event and the consensus is these aren't good. All of the cupcakes were dry, crumbled and fell apart when you tried to eat them. What makes matters worse, the owners don't care.

We were gifted tickets for the German Village picnic Giftory experience which gave us two macarons of our choosing and two vanilla shortbread cookies for free. We chose the raspberry chambord and pistachio macarons while also ordering two pistachio cloud matchas. All of the desserts were excellent. The raspberry macaron was very fruit forward while the pistachio was more subdued, but still had a spot on flavor. Even with sugar coating the shortbread cookies, the touch of vanilla made them taste light. I could easily see myself eating far too many of those. The star of the show was the matcha. 10/10! I've never had a pistachio flavored drink, so I was a little hesitant, but wow, I'm glad I ordered it! The matcha base wasn't overly sweet nor was the pistachio foam overly salty. Perfect mix of sweet and savory. Even thought the line was out the door, it moved at a decent pace and our drinks didn't take too long to receive. I'd like to try the strawberry matcha next time, but I'm not sure if I can pass up the pistachio Highly recommend!

I think the issue is with the chocolate they use for the mocha but it had such an odd flavor that I couldn't bring myself to finish it. The croissant was fine and not memorable and I won't say too much on the macaron because I think I just realized I'm not really a macaron person so I can't fairly judge them there. The cafe is itty bitty and there is absolutely no seating inside so it's more of a grab and go situation. There are a few seats outside so hopefully you can snag a seat when the weather is nicer. Overall, I think there are a lot of other good coffee shops in Columbus that I don't see myself going out of my way to come back.

That's how I ended up at Kennedy's Kakes. The name was already familiar -- I'd seen them at other events as a caterer and liked what they offered -- but I had no idea they were so close to downtown. Once I realized that, I made a quick stop during a coffee-and-sweets run. And let's just say the "quick stop" turned into a sampler situation. Once inside, I saw the lineup and decided to build a box so the beau could taste-test with me later. Into the box went: * **Love Bites** * **Milk Chocolate Millionaire Bar** * **White Chocolate Millionaire Bar** * **Persian Love Cake** (the rose petals pulled me right in) * **Two rum cakes** -- because Caribbean heritage loyalty runs deep All of these were destined for our weekend sweets day, cut in half and shared like a proper tasting. For the immediate moment, I grabbed an oat milk latte and a cinnamon roll. Solid pairing, no complaints. The space itself was welcoming and the folks working there were genuinely lovely -- always a plus when you're trying a place for the first time. Later that weekend when we split the sampler box, everything held up exactly the way you want a bakery spread to. Mission accomplished: Kennedy's Kakes is officially on my list of potential bakers. YE Gurl says: If you're downtown and looking for a strong combo of pastries, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee, this is an easy stop to add to your rotation. They have a little store just inside the entrance and behind that is their boarding area which is in front of the daycare parks and next to the grooming station. You cannot beat the prices and service here. I was going on a last minute out of town trip and needed boarding services and they allowed me to bring Dozer in before they opened. They were so gracious to work with me. I loved watching him on the cameras. He had a blast playing with new friends and running around. Their outdoor area is awesome! It's turf so Dozer's grass allergies weren't agitated. I learned that they clean it regularly and that it has a draining system. Very cool! I was so comfortable leaving my little man there and I know he had a great time! Their grooming is awesome too! Their prices are so good and they really took care of my nervous guy.
