I hadn't eaten at Cafe Mediterranean in Power Plant in a long time, so coming back felt nostalgic. We started with the hummus and pita, which was still creamy and comforting. My daughter had the chicken gyro, wrapped in warm pita like a little Mediterranean burrito, plus the chicken plate where I swapped the usual pita base for biryani rice. The flavors were exactly how I remembered them, still very good, but the portions definitely felt smaller now which I'm guessing is just the times catching up.
Service was attentive and the space kept that relaxed, Greek-inspired feel that works well for a casual meal.
A friend of mine reminded me of other dishes worth trying here and it made me think of past visits , the kebabs, especially the chicken and mixed meat platters, are always solid. The dip sampler with hummus, moutabal, and labneh is a good starter, and the gyro plate with sides gives you more variety than the wrap alone. If you're in the mood for something different, people also like their Mediterranean or kebab pizzas, and the baklava or panna cotta if you want dessert.
Overall, the taste is still there, the ambiance is still pleasant, and it remains a reliable spot for Mediterranean cravings, even if the portions aren't as generous as before. read more
