If they open both front doors they can hold up to 150 standing. This is a great little venue for a micro wedding or a birthday party or anniversary party, or perhaps a small reunion or retirement event. The owners are very sweet, and the manager of the venue was possibly even sweeter. The decor was done by the previous owner of the location when it was a couture dress shop. There are lots of mirrors which make for interesting photographs, and a nice contrast between dark and light in the decor. The space has good flow for a party and plenty of dance space for a DJ! Definitely add this venue to your list of ones to look at.

The GPS was a little misleading, but Avon Acres is located on Summer Ave BEHIND Central BBQ. The venue is clean and very spacious, with an outdoor area, interior prior to entering, and very ample space for the event of your choosing. It was catered, but there was an area she had for creating beverages, so I imagine there's an area in the back for food preparation. To be honest, I am not sure of the cost, but I'd definitely consider this venue if you're planning for a very large crowd.

Holy moly! That view!…read more I attended the Special Olympics dinner here a year or two ago and was completely blown away by the view (especially at night...all those pretty lights!)...and yesterday (during the day) was no different (GORGEOUS!). I've heard rumors for awhile now that they a happy hour and it has been on my short list of things I want to try it. Well, yesterday I had a meeting in the bar area at 4 and decided to ring up a few friends after it was over to fully experience their happy hour. And honey, I'm so glad I did. Their house by the glass is only $4 and well liquor is $3. Tower Center, I think we're going to get along just fine (especially since my office is literally next door). But what really impressed me (besides that view), was the food! I am super picky about my cheese plates and not only was it pretty to look at, but it was yummy to eat (kinda important). And the chicken wings? Yes, please! They were so cute and tiny and delicious! I've actually never seen pretty chicken wings but somehow they managed to do it (no seriously, check out my photo). I also stole some bites of my dining partner's french fries and they were indeed just like I like 'em. And the pizza? Phenomenal! You've got to check out my food porn pics! They also rent out the venue space so take a peek around!

It's a great environment and a good place to grab a drink after work or just because. One might think that would constitute 5 stars, but time after time I've been here, the service continues to be subpar. It is not difficult to be pleasant. Try harder. I always feel like I'm inconveniencing the gentleman bartender who works many of the nights. I'm sorry you have to do your job; mine sucks sometimes too, but I manage a smile and a polite demeanor. But my wife wanted to visit the Memphis Botanic Garden for her birthday, and somehow this place turned me into a calm, peaceful woodland citizen for a few hours. First off, the weather was absolutely perfect, which already gives nature a huge advantage. Then you walk the grounds and realize this place is legitimately beautiful. Ducks casually living their best lives, koi fish gliding through the water like they pay property taxes there, birds chirping, flowers everywhere, waterfalls and water features--it's like stress gets checked at the front gate with your $12 admission fee. And let's not overlook the fact that there were food trucks... and one of them was selling cocktails. Suddenly being outside didn't seem so unreasonable anymore. What surprised me most was how peaceful the entire experience felt. It genuinely pulls you away from the noise of everyday life and drops you into this quiet little zen mode you didn't know you needed. Also, if you're planning a wedding or outdoor event, this place is loaded with gorgeous spots that look like they came straight out of a magazine. Seriously, every few steps felt like another "this would be an amazing wedding photo" moment. When the weather cooperates, this place is hard to beat as a happy place. Even for people like me who normally consider "the outdoors" a temporary inconvenience.
