They have a balcony area (hence the name!) but it's only inside and is a small little space. It's good for medium to large parties. The kitchen is a decent size and the sinks work. There are some downsides, but to me they didn't detract too much from the place. There are only two stalls in the restroom with a light in the largest one (which is good considering one of the overhead lights had gone out). The tables are a bit wobbly though, so make sure not to put anything crazy heavy on them. The parking lot is tiny and it's easy to get trapped here. Also, when it rains, it gets cold by the windows so bring a jacket. All in all, I always enjoy coming to this place. I think it's very pretty compared to most of the venues I see.

If I could give negative stars I would. First off the gate outside is all bent up, My god daughter…read morehad her wedding and reception there. As I walked the first thing I smelled, that's right smelled, was old fryer oil. I walked into one of the foulest kitchens I have ever had the misfortune of walking into. I cant say anything good about the kitchen. in fact I cant say anything good about the entire building. The owner Shari (I'm not sure how to spell her name) is rude and unwilling to get off her butt and drive down the street to assist. I spoke with her twice on the phone and she was extremely rude, unprofessional, and combative to say the least. She was more worried about bringing up what little items she didn't charge for as if these gave her the right to not come down and address honest concerns. Here is a list of items I found wrong doing a walk through. Kitchen FILTHY!!! bathrooms dirty changing rooms dirty railing of the balcony loose and dangerous walls and floors filthy paint chipping pillars crap service sets, (food warmers) tarnished and dirty tables wobbly eating utensils tarnished and dirty plates and glasses unmatched lighting sucks dusty I can honestly go on and on but I may run out of room. I would not serve slop there or hold an execution there.

I'm partially biased, b/c I work for Angela these days (part time)...but- I was with Memphis Event…read moreDesign and the Peabody prior to joining the SEP team, so I worked with her as a vendor in the past (and always had a great experience). Angela is like a wedding genie. She is REALLY good at matching the right vendors with the right brides based on their budgets and their personality. I know, because she totally nailed it when I needed a photographer and florist for my New Orleans wedding in 2011 (prior to my employment there). For anyone considering a planner, especially for a wedding- look no further. SEP is a one stop shop for decor, floral, coordination, invitations, and vendor recommendations. Their rates are extremely fair and competitive. Check the reviews on Wedding Wire, the Knot and many other sources. SEP has been around for over twenty years and their experience shows in everything they do.

I am unsure why the other reviews are so bad - Angela was amazing and we loved working with her…read more We hired Angela because we live in California and were planning a wedding in Memphis. We DID NOT want to be involved in every single detail and wanted to delegate as much as possible to Angela. She helped with contracts, design, vendor selection, and with my sanity. Angela took care of every detail and was extremely organized. Angela organized things so well that we only made a single trip to Memphis during the planning process for a weekend filled with meeting DJs, musicians, tasting caterer menus, and visiting venues. Most importantly, Angela took the time to understand the vision we had for our wedding and was very creative and meticulous in executing it. She had great vendor recommendations, but didn't mind working with new vendors we had heard good things about. She worked her contacts to help us find a band composed of local church musicians, and mined flea markets for months looking for decorations - she really went above and beyond. Our wedding was as unique and beautiful as we had hoped for and we owe it all to Angela. I would recommend Southern Event Planners to anyone looking for a unique and wonderful wedding.

It's a great environment and a good place to grab a drink after work or just because. One might think that would constitute 5 stars, but time after time I've been here, the service continues to be subpar. It is not difficult to be pleasant. Try harder. I always feel like I'm inconveniencing the gentleman bartender who works many of the nights. I'm sorry you have to do your job; mine sucks sometimes too, but I manage a smile and a polite demeanor. But seriously, go. It's worth it.

Holy moly! That view!…read more I attended the Special Olympics dinner here a year or two ago and was completely blown away by the view (especially at night...all those pretty lights!)...and yesterday (during the day) was no different (GORGEOUS!). I've heard rumors for awhile now that they a happy hour and it has been on my short list of things I want to try it. Well, yesterday I had a meeting in the bar area at 4 and decided to ring up a few friends after it was over to fully experience their happy hour. And honey, I'm so glad I did. Their house by the glass is only $4 and well liquor is $3. Tower Center, I think we're going to get along just fine (especially since my office is literally next door). But what really impressed me (besides that view), was the food! I am super picky about my cheese plates and not only was it pretty to look at, but it was yummy to eat (kinda important). And the chicken wings? Yes, please! They were so cute and tiny and delicious! I've actually never seen pretty chicken wings but somehow they managed to do it (no seriously, check out my photo). I also stole some bites of my dining partner's french fries and they were indeed just like I like 'em. And the pizza? Phenomenal! You've got to check out my food porn pics! They also rent out the venue space so take a peek around!
