As a kitchen and housewares nerd I've always loved swinging through here to browse their wares. They've got some nice kitchen gear. Pots, pans, serving ware, pretty dishes, cookie cutters, gadgets, etc. They've also got a nice selection of dips, spreads, jams, and mixes for baked goods, soups, sauces, etc. We stopped in this past weekend after a few years away and I was happy to see they've now added a small cooler section in the back with some great picnic items and snacks like cheeses, spreads, charcuterie, even miniature butter packets--perfect for a nice little baguette when you're visiting and don't want to commit to an entire package of butter just to have a nice snack on the beach! Things are a little pricier here but it's a boutique store in a vacation town so it's to be expected. But their offerings are good quality so there isn't a ton of sticker shock! The cookies. We did not expect fresh baked cookies, but there they were. And we inhaled them. Pricing for kitchen gadgets and foodstuffs were reasonable and the store has a good selection. But the cookies, you must try the cookies. Staff were friendly, and expertly steered us to the back to the cookies. Cookies. Very cute store, kind of like a Crate & Barrel, almost. I've walked past here many times but never went in, we were lured in by the fresh cookies sign yesterday. I ended up buying some Sanders treats (their milk chocolate salted caramel, which is my favorite, plus cherry caramels, since I had never had those before) and one of my friends got a cookie from the cookie area in the back. Another friend bought a tea accessory for her daughter. They also have a decent wine bottle selection - I noticed a few Fenn Valley bottles, which is a local brand - and the wines are reasonably priced, too. I'd stop here again when in town. read more

Loaded with unique dishes, ergonomic utensils, awesome cookie cutters, and a ton of yummy jams, dips, mixes, spices, coffees and teas. You could get lost in here and when I do, I don't mind one bit! I love kitchen stores. You can always find unique items and things you were not even looking for. We stopped at The Butler Pantry last weekend and had a nice time looking at all their items, smelling the delicious cookies (darn we had dinner reservations within the hour), and ended up purchasing a few items. I LOVE this little shop and you will too if you like using helpful gadgets in the kitchen. I spent a lot of time in this shop during my last trip to Saugatuck.....real easy for me to do too since my friends and I had rented out the loft, that was over the shop, for the weekend. Along with all of the neat gadgets that this shop offers are tastings of various dips and coffees. I got some yummy dill mustard that I can't wait to try on a ham sandwich. I also got a bunch of fun gadgets that are too numerous to mention. In the back of the shop you will find a couple pots of coffee along with little tasting cups and larger cups that are available for purchase. Also available are fresh baked cookies and biscotti. All in all this is a real fun shop to visit and it will probably become one of my must dos the next time I'm in the area. read more

Cookies were delicious. Service was awful. We had family that had their cookies before and raved about them. The lady that waited on us was so rude. I said thank you and she gave no response. Slammed cash register door, gave a loud huff at customer asking for help. Just so unexpected in such a nice little town. Will not return or recommend. read more

Firstly, let me say if you have a kitchen, make or eat food, or are considering any of those, this is the place for you! Lots of great merchandise, well priced, quality...and good wines and food (some local, some imported). Just stop by to see what they have and eat a cookie from Cookies On Call if nothing else! Secongly, better than the merchandise are the people! We had a group of ladies in Saugatuck for our yearly trip and I wanted to have a "dinner event" for the ladies while in town. I talked to John J, the owner, and he was not only excited about what I proposed but he was immediately on it! We worked out a great event that included private shopping, a dinner demo that included items sold in the store AND the ladies had to help make the food! Our hosts for the evening, Jimmy and Jim, were great! Patience of saints, good sports, knowledgable about their products, and ready to have fun! Our group loved them. They even included a "food related" game and provided prizes. I was so impressed with the dinner menu, the kitchen, the merchandise, and how well our hosts related to our group. The ladies are still talking about what a blast they had. Highly recommend you stop in or, if you are looking to host an event, give them a call. We'll absolutely be back! read more

We came on a visit from the city and did a little research before exploring. The Butler Pantry seemed right up our alley - my mom and I are cookers/bakers and COLLECT utensils. So we were excited. It's actually a really cute store with a little Julia Child kitchen set up at the back. The building is cool too! Really old with the original elevator mechanism hanging out with the kitchen stuff. Super cute. That being said it's just a normal kitchen store with things you can get in your own town - actually less. We were looking for Le Creuset, but they didn't have that. My mom and I are picky and we know it. So our bad on that one. If you're looking for a nice stop while you stroll on Butler St. definitely stop in to The Butler Pantry. Die hard kitchen cooks/bakers be warned - keep an open mind that it's a nice tourist stop and not a place to get all your kitchen needs. read more

We discovered this place after searching for a cookie shop that had closed down. We found out from one of their other locations that the Butler Pantry sold them. Nice sized store with a few wines and snacks, dips and kitchen stuff. The owner waited on us and was just the nicest guy. He was friendly with everyone that walked into his store. If I could give ten stars, I would gladly. John, both Jims and Bruce [sic] are as helpful as any customer could ask. The selections are most varied and of great quality. The store has something for the food gourmand in all of us with very reasonable prices. Being a gourmet home cook, I really like this place. We come up every summer and this is on my list of go-to shops. More often than not, I've found an item I wanted or needed and couldn't find at my local retail store. It's similar to Williams-Sonoma but the prices are better. I've purchased: Pasta bowl set, Wok, Mushroom brush, lemon covers, coasters, escargot dishes, lobster crackers, nut picks, delish dips, and many more items. In fact, I've purchased enough items over the yrs. that I didn't this yr.! They have relocated into the 'old hardware' down the street, which is a better location due to parking issues at the original. They now have their own parking lot. I found that 1/2 the store is kitchen items & 1/2 is gourmet sauces, salsas, dips & etc. --give them a try if you like being in your kitchen or want a great gift for someone who does! read more

Awesome 8 oz burgers which are somehow spoiled because they are served with a side of ruffles potato chips. Rings and French Fries are available but extra $$. Waitstaff was super friendly and you can't beat the location and the view. I'd say go for the burgers and splurge for a side of rings and you'll be happy you went. read more

Earth & Vine Papaya Chipotle Pineapple Sauce 12oz $7.99 Dr. Pete's Bacon Herb Dressing 12.7oz $7.50 Stonewall Roasted Onion & Garlic Jam 13oz $7.50 - *They recommended I add this on a burger! YESSSSSSS! *(Insert O face here.) You really can't go wrong with any of the dressings, marinades, etc. Plus, the price is affordable. 5 Stars for these items. I don't go there for anything else. The staff is helpful and friendly, and they have yummy samples to try while there; this is dangerous though because you will find many more things you have to buy. read more

I realize that driving 2 hours to stop at this one store, pick up amazing wine, and turn around and come home - is potentially wacko. But the Butler Pantry is one of my favorite stores ever! Kind of like a Williams-Sonoma on a smaller scale, the Butler Pantry Kitchen Shop offers a wide array of everything you could want in a kitchen, from small gadgets to electronics to unique spices and ready-to-make food mixes. Prices were better than Williams-Sonoma, perhaps comparable to Crate and Barrel's kitchenware section. This place even has a small section of already-chilled bottles of wine and blocks of cheese. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, whether you are looking to browse or are searching for something specific. read more

This is a great little place to get your Sur La Table/Williams Sonoma style fix - they have all kinds of kitchen and cooking gadgets, as well as a wide array of spices, jams, and the like. They even have their own brand of products, which are pretty darn good too, and could make for good souvenirs and gifts. They also always set out little samples of their products, and the people that work there are really nice. One of my stops on the Saugatuck circuit! read more

Very reminiscent of Willams-Sonoma or Sur La Table, but with a nice, small shop feel. Came here this past Wednesday & there were a few people in the shop milling about on their own. Unlike the most of the shops on Butler, I really didn't feel welcome. I passed by the only employee around. He was unpacking stuff behind the counter. He looked up, I smiled in greeting as we made eye contact & he just glared at me & looked away, chewing whatever the hell he was eating. I left shortly after. Hopefully, the cold shoulder isn't the norm. It could have been an off day or I interrupted his snack. Who knows. It is a nice shop with lots of cooking gadgets under one roof. This is especially helpful if you don't have something like a Williams-Sonoma, Sur La Table, or The Chopping Block near you. They also carry some picnic items in case you want to have an impromptu picnic at Wicks Park or Oval Beach. read more
