Update : I came back today to get my measurements in and ordered my dress through the Bustle! Peyton picked up the phone and shared they had some time for me to come in the same day when I called this morning and the whole process was very easy - some quick measurements for height, chest area and hip area. Similar to the bridal dress appointment, You will have to take off your bra for the fitting measurements as well but they provide privacy (see picture) and definitely make you feel at ease! They had an option for payment plan if needed, and went through the legal policies of ordering through them (final sell). They also gave a very cute shoe bag with some information on local wedding partners, and an informational guide on what to expect next and timeline for when to expect the dress to arrive. While my initial stylist Brook was not working today I did want to give a shout-out to her and the whole team for making me feel totally taken care of. Of all the bridal stores I went to (3 total) I felt the most at-ease here and felt like Brook really worked hard to make sure I tried on as many dresses possible within my budget. I have been to 7 different bridal shops from San Diego to LA and The Bustle (& my stylist, Paytin) is truly THE BEST in Southern California. This was the third shop I came to and literally every single dress I put on was gorgeous. I came here mostly to see some Berta gowns and they were all to die for. I couldn't decide yet if I really wanted to spend that much on a dress and what style I wanted to go with (a-line vs fitted) so I kept looking around but nothing compared to The Bustle. After one truly horrible experience at another shop in the area, I realized I needed to just come back to The Bustle and know that I'm getting what I'm paying for if I choose a dress there. There was one dress in particular that had never left my mind and of course that's the one I felt the most amazing in the second time trying it on. Highly recommend the Bustle. I got my wedding dress there and have been with 2 other brides who had an amazing experience. The experience of shopping there was wonderful, I walked in and they were ready with a bunch of dresses for me, and then continued to pull new ones as I reacted. The dress that ended up being the one was actually something that I didn't love on the hanger - but they told me to trust them and were 100% right. One other thing that I really appreciated was how they were about my body. They really stayed away from body comments, and instead talked about how I was "glowing" or "stunning." As someone with a past history of an eating disorder, the way the entire staff seemed to be great with not making body comments (positive or negative) really stood out. I also texted them prior to my fitting, which can be really triggering for any woman (because let's be honest, body dysmorphia is extremely common), to give them a heads up about my past history and ask that they pass it along to the seamstress - everyone at the Bustle and the seamstress did an amazing job making me feel comfortable and beautiful. I hope other women who have had struggles with body image, eating disorders, or just have had plain bad experiences with tailored dresses read this review. Updating this review. I went ahead and chose to do my alterations with The Bustle since it's my wedding, I didn't want to have any headaches about a botched alteration. Well, much to my surprise it happened here. I went in for many fittings and the seamstress was very nice (this is not about her personally). However, the actual alterations were done poorly. The zipper popped off while I was on there trying the dress, which she replaced. The belt that was sewn in came undone before my wedding day, I went back and they re- did it. Great! Now fast forward a week, day of my wedding! The sleeves she made came undone as I was doing my "getting ready pictures". Ok, fixed with a pin by my photographer! From then on I couldn't raise my arms which made the whole ceremony kind of uncomfy but whatever, I tried to be positive! Then, the belt came undone before the party even started. All my pictures from then out, which is MANY, have a dangling belt. It felt like a Cinderella dress, coming apart before a time! Honestly very upsetting that such a high end boutique would have a seamstress as such. I'd save your money and take the alterations somewhere else. For the amount I paid for alterations (it was $1000 just to be transparent) I expected better. I reached out to The Bustle before updating this review, basically nothing can be done other than "sorry this happened". So I'm just trying to warn off any future brides of having a Cinderella dress on their wedding day! *This review had nothing to do with my experience buying the dress, just so it's clear. read more

I had a rough morning right before my appointment and honestly came in really stressed and frazzled. Kennedy was so empathic and kind. She took the time to listen to my rant and gave me some champagne to calm my nerves. She was amazing! Each time, a wonderful experience! By appointment only, you have a dedicated suite for you to pick and try on dresses. As you arrive, there is a sign welcoming the Bride to be. Greeted by your own personal attendant, they have chocolates, mints, cupcakes and chilled champagne ready for you! Our attendant... Was amazing! Dung must've tried on at least a dozen dresses and she was fast! In and out of each dress in minutes! They let you take pictures of the dress as you try them on which is awesome! I took 200 photos!!! The Bustle was an absolute dream come true!! I had already been to a variety of bridal shops before finally making an appointment at The Bustle. The online appointment system was easy to navigate and when I accidentally made an appointment for the wrong day, I called and they easily rescheduled me. I really liked the online lookbook -it was perfect for previewing dresses and liking the ones that fit what I was looking for. The day of, I went with my mom and 2 bridesmaids and they had champagne and treats waiting for us in a private room. (I think the store is 2 private rooms linked together?) The sign outside with your name on it is such a nice personal touch. Paytin was amazing- she gave us an overview of everything, asked me some questions, and pulled some dresses for me based on my preferences. OMG. The first dress was it. I'm not kidding. I tried on about 6 dresses and honestly I could have easily been happy with most of them. I would consider myself a plus-size bride and I never felt uncomfortable or like they didn't have enough of a selection for me. Paytin was an absolute professional and SO kind and helpful. I'm sure the other stylists are also amazing but if you have the chance to request her, do it! The last dress I tried on was totally different from what I had thought I'd want (Paytin was so sweet to pull it based on my mom's preferences) and I loved that one too. I asked if it could be made in another color and she was nice enough to check with the designer and follow-up with me after the appointment. I can't say enough amazing things about The Bustle! I was visiting 3 different bridal shops back to back and The Bustle was my second stop. From the moment I walked in, I had a feeling that I wasn't going to want to go anywhere else. And I was right - I ended up getting my dress from them! From the little details (like having your name on a sign outside), to the immaculately decorated suites, they truly think of everything. Paytin was the stylist helping me out, and I genuinely want to be best friends with her. Her energy was amazing, and I really appreciated that she was very communicative about what to expect throughout the process. She asked really thoughtful questions to get to know me and my style, and I could tell that she truly wanted me to have an amazing experience - it seems she genuinely loves her job as well. I'm not a "wedding girlie" by any means (like, would rather wear a jumpsuit than a big floofy dress), and I told her that, and Paytin still managed to emulate my style and desires (or lack thereof) flawlessly. Paytin picked out ~6 gowns for me, and she prefaced with the first one that "this was probably it"... And, well, WOW, she was absolutely right. I fell in love with it immediately, and while I did also adore the other dresses she picked for me as well, I ended up going with the first one! She also gave me some very thoughtful options in term of accessories and veils, and I ended up going with the most incredible veil that really tied the whole look together - and, most importantly, it all felt 100% ME. I loved the experience I got when I went to Bustle to pick out my dress with my closest family and friends. The two sales associates that helped me were wonderful and I walked out feeling really good about my decision. I'm giving them three stars instead of five because when I went to pick up my dress it was ordered 3 or 4 sizes too big, which meant there need to be a lot of alterations done (my weight did not fluctuate between buying my dress and when we received it). I went with the tailor they recommended for my alterations because she had just recently done alterations on my same dress for someone else. Because of the extent of alterations and the delicate mesh that my dress had on it, I felt like we lost some of the integrity of the original look and feel of the dress compared to when I tried it on for the first time. On top of that, the alterations cost me almost as much as my dress did. Because of this experience, I was not excited to wear my dress and didn't like how it looked. I'm not sure why they ordered the size they did when I originally purchased the dress, but that ultimately led to my overall experience and dissatisfaction. read more

Growing up in San Diego, we would always drive by The Bustle and I would admire the dresses in the window, or peek into the store while picking up food at Double Happiness, and I would think to myself, "one day." Well, now I can officially say I am a "Bustle Bride." My mom, sister, and I came in on Saturday to find my dream dress and my consultant, Brooke, did just that and more. The Bustle shows its care for each client the moment you approach the store front and see a sign welcoming you as their "bride-to-be." We were welcomed by Brooke and Paytin who offered us some bubbly and water (and the bubbly was very much appreciated). Brooke sat down with me and asked me questions about my fiancé, where we are getting married, and my vision for a wedding dress including things I like and do not like in dresses. She patiently listened and took notes while I shared my thoughts and talked about other dresses I have tried on. Even though I had selected some dresses on their appointment portal before coming in, they also allowed my mom, sister, and I to look over the racks and see if anything stood out to us. Brooke directed us to the right area to look that was in our budget. The first dress I tried on was beautiful, but the second dress took my breath away (and ended up being my dress). Brooke recommended some other dresses to try on just so I could make sure I was set on my decision. Besides finding my dress, Brooke was the standout moment from The Bustle. She got me in and out of dresses, and back into and out of dresses that I liked. She was supportive but not pushy and I really was able to feel that she was just there to help me feel happy and beautiful. She was always ready to grab a veil, headpiece, or belt if we asked and she is an EXPERT dress train fluffer. She also patiently endured all the staring at myself in the mirror that I did while I tried to imagine myself in each dress at my wedding. When it came down to two dresses, I never felt pushed into a decision; Brooke just asked me questions about how I felt, so it was very much my decision in the end. She patiently stood next to me holding the other dress I was considering while I looked in the mirror and made my decision. She was so, so kind. Overall, it was such a warm, happy moment and I am so glad that I found my dress at The Bustle because it has been my dream since I was a little girl. The dress was also well under my budget! I'm planning a wedding on a bit of a time crunch and Paytin was able to help me find a dress that was available in our time frame and budget (and looked amazing of course). Shout out to Paytin's excellent clipping skills! She really knows her dresses, and was even able to find the dress I thought wasn't available in store just from a picture. The appointment was good vibes all around despite the rainy weather.
