This is for the for the Queens Secret Theatre 10-10,44 Av,LIC 11101…read more November 8-2025 ,I saw the event on this great location, I must say ,nice and receptive people. By what I researched , it was created to give opportunities for artists ,which is great and also for the ones who are already in the industry to show and expanding their talent . From time to time this place comes with this wonderful Shortplay Festival . It is so exciting and so promising for the actors, directors and writers .However the competition ,turns in disappointment to see excellent work of the participants overlooked. The voting system is led from family members and friends. This current method is unfair to talented actors, writers ,and directors who give their best, but unfortunately the results depend on personal connections instead of artistic merit. A system led by qualified judges would make the festival stronger, fairer, and more true to its mission of supporting learning and creativity. Please reconsider it , to be an excellent place with fair judgments for all artists . If it continues like this ,I don't see the point of artist go through it.Thank you.

They are the true definition of a community theatre and one that keeps the arts scene alive in the borough. Does it seem like they have a better setup than previously? I seem to think so. While the venue is still incredibly small, it is a little less stuffy their than previous digs and a lot more modern. The waiting area feels like someone's living room, complete with seasonal decor and chairs / stools that feel like they were donated. Now known as the The Secret Academy, they've got a whole arsenal of classes aimed toward developing the next generation of actors. They aim to teach young folks everything from dance to drama to singing and have many current students involved in big time productions. They teach kids as young as 6 and work with high schoolers to prepare them for their next big thing. They host a number of shows throughout the year and I hope that during one of my next trips back that I can stop by and see their latest play. Here's hoping they'll be able to remain here for a very long time.

Kids enjoy the days dancing, they love coming here…read more The kids LOVE the teachers, and the pricing for the classes are pretty good compared to other places around that charge an unruly price for what you get. The months that gets you is November and March? November to buy the costumes for the recital ($70 Each) So if you have a child doing multiple classes, like mine. It will run you a lot. and March, because you need to buy the tickets to go to the recital in June ($25 each) If you have a big family.....well.....I hope you have some money saved for it. All hobbies are expensive, and this is no different. My advice, is if you have a hectic schedule, DO NOT put your child in Competition Team. It takes a lot of time, sacrifice, money, and love for dancing. All I'm saying is that it is a good school. It's family owned and maintained on a daily basis. But just be ready, if you want your child to just do the basics, without missing out on anything, be willing to spend around $3,000 to $5,000 on all you need.

I have an anxiety disorder which at the time I was there was not being treated but y'all really stabbed me in the back. If your kid has anxiety issues don't come here. I went to dance to escape from my stress and relax but was put in a class of 8 year olds when I was at least 14 because I refused to do competitions of which THE IDEA GAVE ME PANIC ATTACKS. They only saw me as potential asset to the company team but basically gave me a big middle finger to the face because I wouldn't compete. I trusted y'all but you gave up on me because I could bring in the awards or money. This shit put me through so much when I was going though one of the toughest times in my childhood yet I am thankful for this shitty experience for helping me grow into a better person. TLDR: this place is a shit stain in my memory but hey Without this shitty experience i wouldnt have become who I am today. I learned a lot and now I'm a cosplayer who competes in sewing and craftsmanship divisions with costumes and actually makes commission off of custom pieces and patterns.

This is not the type of teacher you should hire who steal your students. This review is for the voice teacher Elena Diaz. She promised me and my husband a recital when we first started. Initially my husband was a piano student of Alejandra at Juliet Music and she took him under her wing as her private voice student making him leave Juliet Music. I myself was a student of Juliet music and left to study privately under Elena because she said it would be better for me. She stole me from lessons at Juliet Music. She promised us a recital and other concerts to perform in but from 2013-2018 since we were with her nothing happened. She kept teaching us the same songs and our skills never got better. My husband went to her to study countertenor and tenor. She can't teach him the right way let alone going back and forth on two types of voices. This was really unfair. She forces us to sing karaoke songs from YouTube as our lessons. She had workshops which were all about money and not learning. She doesn't know how to teach the music and harmony. She personally has something against my husband because he was the only one who questioned her. We continued to sing the same songs over again. She didn't know how to drive so many times she had me drive her around for free. Places like from her house to Juliet Music which is ironic since I was a student of Juliet Music, to a wedding we're not invited to where she made us sing without practice, and the college recital of one of her other students which she always describes as "hot". She calls him the Prince of India who at the time was a high school student . The most offensive thing was how she talked about her boyfriend and their sex life during lessons. One time she talked about how she likes the beast and Rolf because they are hairy like the men she likes. She also talks about getting pregnant with her boyfriend during group practices in front of others. This is sexual harassment. She said this in front of young girls and should not be tolerated. She is too friendly with her students and it's as if she's crossing the line. When I first came to her she said I was a soprano so I thought that she would train me. After 5 years with her I never had a performance or recital. Neither did my husband. And I never learned how to sing soprano. In the end my husband did not learn any of the right skills to improve I don't think she ever had an intention of giving us success. My husband and I sing in church where we are well experienced and she had the nerve to teach us songs we've been singing all our lives. Many times my husband and I want to do duets. She can't even figure out the harmonies. She also forced us to watched the recital of her favorite student who has nothing to do with us. Also a wedding in the city who we don't know at all. She wants us to do what she wants because we're "friends" and she wants me to drive her. I was being used for my kindness. She's takes advantage of people especially through her lessons. I really feel that Elena Diaz is not a good teacher and should be terminated.

Parking is convenient. Flexible scheduling for make up classes. Cons: facilities are old and outdated. The rooms need a paint job and cleaning. There is weird household trash in the practice rooms. From the large ball pit and motion-sensor projector game down to the small toys for other sorts of play, it is a great option for all ages. The slides are so cute! Safety protocols will apply and sanitization seems to be "on the ball" for this place. I appreciate the extra care and attention that the workers put into this place for everyone's health and well being. There are snacks and other items on sale. It is all very well set up. The workers are also experienced that if the child does not want to leave, they have ways to coax them to listening to the parents. (huge plus because most of the time, children will want to stay.) Seems like private parties are at a very good cost with different options to choose from. The overall presentation with the party decor and details looked extremely fabulous.
