2 Stars I hate…read moregiving anyone a two-star review, especially for breakfast--my favorite meal of the day--but unfortunately, this one just missed the mark for us. The biggest issue was the quality of the food. If you're going to charge around $15 for a breakfast, put a good-quality sausage patty on the grill. It doesn't take much to make a flavorful sausage gravy from scratch either, but this gravy tasted like it came straight from a bag or can and had almost no flavor. The biscuits themselves were actually pretty good, but pouring margarine over the top completely changed the taste. The sausage patties weren't very good and seemed like they'd been left on the grill too long. The fried potatoes were decent, and so was the sourdough toast. The staff was nice and working hard--they were extremely busy. There were a lot of people in line, so clearly plenty of people enjoy the breakfast here, and the place itself has an interesting atmosphere. The price didn't help. $4 for a Sprite is overkill. We had one breakfast with an egg, sausage, toast and home fries, one waffle, half an order of biscuits and gravy, and drinks, and the bill was over $40. At that price point, I simply expect better-quality breakfast ingredients. This is just our experience and opinion. The staff was friendly, and considering how busy they were, I give them credit for that. Maybe we'll give it another shot next year, but this time around, the quality just didn't match the price.

We ordered the firecracker shrimp, drunken shrimp and KFC wings with no extra sesame seeds. The KFC wings were delicious, one of my favorite appetizers. Both of the shrimp appetizers were delicious too, love the sauce on the firecracker shrimp. Once again, we had great service, delicious food, and amazing drinks!

After hearing about their breakfast special, Adam's Breakfast Bowl, my wife decided to order that with crispy house potatoes, crispy bacon and scrambled eggs with gravy on the side ($15). She also ordered a side of toasted wheat toast ($2). I ordered the Adam's Two and Two with scrambled eggs, bacon and house potatoes ($13). We each ordered coffee ($8) and water to go with our meals. My wife liked her dish but thought the potatoes weren't crispy. My breakfast was fine, although I thought the scrambled eggs lacked the fluffiness that I've come to expect for an elevated breakfast experience. Lately, I've been judging breakfast joints by how fluffy their scrambled eggs are...and this didn't quite make the mark. It was an OK breakfast. The highlight of our meal was the friendly and efficient server. Breakfast for 2 with tip came out to just over $48.

Even with the steamy Florida heat, the patio was well-shaded and comfortable, and the restaurant was spotless throughout. ​Service started on rocky footing. Things were taking quite a while and our waitress seemed off-kilter, but she soon came over to sincerely apologize and explained she was dealing with a sudden family emergency while trying to finish out her tables. We told her to go take care of business--we completely understood, and family always comes first. ​Things picked up once the drinks arrived. I ordered the signature Florida Sunset--essentially a boozy adult Snoopy snow cone packed with different liquors--and it hit the spot enough that I gladly ordered a second round. ​From there, the food was a tale of two meals: ​Grouper Nuggets: We were brought the wrong appetizer initially. Once the right plate arrived, the nuggets were decent, but fairly underwhelming for fresh coastal catch. ​Hogfish Imperial: This was supposed to be the highlight of the night. Instead of high-end snapper perfection, this "imperial" was a court jester--paper-thin, barely recognizable fish buried under a watery goo passing for lump crab. The sides didn't fare much better: the russet mash tasted straight out of a bad school cafeteria, and the "crispy" Brussels sprouts could have been swapped for rocks with how tough they were. ​Acknowledging the rough start and the entrée miss, management comped the Hogfish and replaced it with the Blackened Grouper, coconut rice, and French fries. This plate was a night-and-day improvement: the coconut rice was packed with flavor, the fries were hot and crispy, and while the grouper was a touch heavy on seasoning, their signature lime tartar sauce cut through it nicely. ​Between the genuine apologies and applying a friends-and-family discount to the bill, the staff proved they actually care about their guests walking away happy. An extra star for great hospitality and turning a rough start around.

It's new to the area, but apparently is the same folks who owned a Mexican restaurant in Southern Illinois. Awesome. We had Iberian beef tacos, which was a special. We did not try the Pastor tacos but they looked great too. And of course we had chips and salsa. The tacos were flawless. Tremendous flavor. And the salsa was great too and was obviously freshly prepared. I go to Cozumel Mexico a couple times each year and love to eat authentic Mexican dishes when I am there. This place is as good as anything I eat in Mexico. This place is just getting rolling in Daytona. It won't take long. Don't let the name fool you, it's top notch Mexican food.
