I'm sharing this because I believe customers should know what can happen behind the scenes of a business they choose to support. I was scheduled only 2-3 days a week for about 4-5 hours per shift. Much of my training consisted of tests through an app that I only had the opportunity to complete a few times. I was ultimately let go because I hadn't learned the difference between UVA and UVB rays quickly enough. I understand the importance of knowing the information required for the job, but I don't feel I was given enough opportunity to practice, review, or improve before being judged on how quickly I learned it. I was putting effort into my job, showing up for my shifts and completing the work I was asked to do, including cleaning the tanning beds and other physical duties. I was also upfront that I personally did not want to use UV tanning beds and preferred spray tanning and red-light therapy. I can't say whether that influenced my termination, but it did make me question whether I was given a fair opportunity. What bothered me most was the lack of consideration and professionalism. My father had just been diagnosed with kidney cancer, and management knew because I was crying at work after finding out and spoke with one of the managers. I still stayed and finished my shift that day. Despite knowing what I was dealing with, I never felt anyone checked in or considered whether something outside of work was affecting me. I was ultimately let go while my father was undergoing surgery to remove his cancerous kidney, and I was terminated in the front of the store in front of other employees rather than being spoken to privately. I found the way this was handled extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. I'm not reviewing this because I want my job back or disagree with businesses having standards. I'm reviewing it because how a business treats its employees matters, and customers deserve to know what is happening behind the scenes of the businesses they support. For a business that has been around for years, I expected a much higher level of professionalism, communication, training, and respect toward employees. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

If you're a newbie, make sure to get the instructions from her on the do's and don't's. After that she'll walk you through the process, which she makes super simple and comfortable. The color is always right, looks natural, and even when it starts to fade (for me after a solid 7-10 days, or if you're really good you can stretch it to 14 days), it still looks pretty good. The beds and rooms are very clean, and the lobby and restroom are organized and spotless. I can tell they care a great deal about cleanliness, which is a huge plus in my book. I have form of psoriasis, so I'd rather tan than take medication. Tanning is my personal choice, but always seek professional medical advice from a licensed physician before you tan if you take any medications. Another reason I use indoor tanning is to help with my overall mood making me feel more positive, and I don't have the opportunity to be outdoors in natural sunlight as often as I'd like, so indoor tanning has and will continue to be part of my life. I was looking for a clean, reasonably priced salon, and I found one. I purchased the unlimited monthly package, and you truly receive a generous amount of services for your money. Unlimited tanning in any bed for 30 days and three Versa Spa Pro sunless spray sessions. You can choose from 3 levels of color with the option of clear or tinted solution. You also get the pre-sunless and post-sunless spray treatments included. I know Sun Tan City charges extra for the post-sunless treatment, so that was a plus for me. (The post-sunless treatment makes your spray tan last longer.) I like the option of the Versa sunless spray because it gives an extra boost of color for a special occasion. Again, three are included in the unlimited monthly. Oh, and I almost forgot the best part: you don't have to sign up for a monthly ETF membership. That means you don't have to give them your bank account information to commit to a membership. It's simply pay once for the month and you get unlimited tanning in any bed with all the other bonuses I mentioned above included. Don't forget to use a good indoor tanning lotion, too. Your skin needs to stay hydrated while you are tanning, and there are different lotions available to use for indoor tanning, with or without bronzers. Overall, I highly recommend this salon.
