Rachel is amazing! Things can go so wrong so easily when it comes to eyebrows and there is nobody I trust more than Rachel. She does an A+ job of taking your vision of what you want and translating it to your eyebrows. She listens carefully and executes beautifully. I have been going here for over a year and there truly is nobody else on this entire island I would trust threading my eyebrows. (Believe me, I had wonky eyebrows for a couple months before I found Rachel lol) She is friendly, professional, meticulous, and also super accommodating with busy/unpredictable schedules. So grateful for you and your business!!! read more

Rachel is amazing! I've been coming to her for years and every time I see her I leave the salon feeling like a totally new women. Can't recommend her enough. read more

Rachel is awesome. After coming to her for the past year, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eye brows. It all started when I decided that I wanted to learn how to use make up. The scariest part was my brows. I've always been self conscious about them...I felt like they were naturally too short and hair just didn't grow where it should be. However, I wasn't sure how to even begin drawing my brows (I know that theres points on your face that you can use as a reference...but I didn't even know where to start), so I sought out professional help. I turned to Yelp and searched eyebrow threading. HNL Aesthetics came up at the top of the list with great reviews. One simple inquiry via text and I set up my first eyebrow threading appointment. Why thread versus wax? Honestly...threading is more painful than waxing for me but I feel like it provides a more precise lines. Rachel is fantastic at listening to what look you want and making sure your brows are on point. After she threads your brows, she will fill it in, so when I would do my make up, I would try and match what she did. That is until recently...when I got ombre eyebrows...which are like microblading (so it's essentially tattooing my eyebrows). I love my eyebrows. Gone are the days of filling in my eyebrows or being self conscious of my brows. For anyone that is looking for eyebrow services...I highly recommend HNL Aesthetics. read more

I was sooooo grateful to have been able to be squeezed in the day before thanksgiving. Rebecca was amazing and very kind. I love getting my brows threaded because of the preciseness and she did an over all great job. Pro tip: Threading is not for the faint hearted. It hurts and may even leave a small temporary scar. If it hurts too bad during threading say something and after just wipe some aloe or witch hazel on your brows to soothe them. It'll be all good within 48 hours MAX. Honestly in my opinion the pain is worth it ‍ read more

I've been seeing Rachel for my brows for a while now and she has always left such perfect results. I've done brow tinting, threading, and recently ombré brows. Ombré brows are the best decision I've done for my brows. I am always very happy with each service that I have done with her and fully trust her with doing my brows. She does phenomenal work, is very understanding, and very kind! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a quick cleanup for your brows or even a total makeover for a whole new brow transformation. read more

Ever since I moved back to Hawai'i I've been to countless ladies to get my eyebrows threaded from but a lot of the times I didn't like the work, didn't feel comfortable with them or both. But Rachel caters to both of my worries! I always find myself going back to her because she really makes you look and feel your best. I'm very particular about my eyebrows but since the first time Rachel has threaded my brows she's always got them right. I also got my first lash lift from her as well and I love it! No more pinching my eyelids with my eyelash curler I know it's scary and nerve wrecking to trust someone new with your eyebrows but you won't regret it if you go to Rachel!! She's super sweet and makes you feel welcomed. Definitely found a keeper! I highly recommend her read more

I seriously wish I can rate HNL Aesthetics even more than 5 stars! Rachel is my go to girl when it comes to threading eyebrows! I really needed to clean my brows because I grew them out for a long time, so I decided to come to this place. I did my research on the hours and location therefore I contacted by texting and it was Rachel who responded and she is super responsive! To add on, when it came to my first appointment, I got lost finding her shop so i texted her and she messaged me pretty fast so communication wise she is on it. I even texted her one time late at night because I had a question and she replied quick too! Fastforward to my first appointment and let me start off by telling you she is super friendly ^__^ She approached me with a heeeeyyyyyyyy nice to meet you I'm Rachel! and omg she gives out those good friendly vibes! We went to the beauty room and I told he"just do your magic do your thaaaang" when she asked me how I wanted my eyebrows done, and yuppp she did it! My eyebrows were on fleek! When I had my second appointment I was so excited to get my eyebrows did from her, hehe and she did her wonderful magic again ^o^ she also asked if I wanted them shaded in so i said sure why not! I highly recommend HNL Aesthetics. I recently started getting my eyebrows threaded by Rachel after trying a few different places, and I am so happy I found her! I have gotten SO MANY compliments on my eyebrows. She is fast, but still gentle, and does a great job with the shape! The studio is convenient, reasonably priced and appointments have been on time and quick.I have been through many different threaders and waxers and Rachel is the best. read more

I can't believe I found a threading place in Waimea! Rachel was great! She was super welcoming, easy to talk to, and takes great care with eyebrow threading. She really listens to her clients to make sure she understands what they want. It was definitely pricier than I'm used to paying for on the mainland but I was so grateful to find someone who does threading on the Big Island and she does an amazing job! read more

Rachel is amazing -- I have been getting my brows and lip threaded by her for the past few months. To start, she is very easy to talk to and responded quickly when I wanted to set up my initial appointment. She pays attention to detail and I've always been more than satisfied after every appt. Within the past few sessions, shes helped my brow hair grow back in certain areas, which really help with the shape/arch. Even during busy months, she will try her best to fit everyones schedules. I've never had a time or waiting issue with Rachel. She does a great job and definitely recommend her. Rachel sells gift cards for treatments and am going to have my sister get her brows done by her! read more

The Star is for the ease of making an appointment, starting appointment on time( I was early), and friendly greeting by desk staff. I only had one service - brow and lip threading - so I can't speak to the other services provided. Both eyebrows were so heavily tweezed after the threading that my eyebrows (and lip) were scabbed for days. Won't return. Not worth giving them a second chance. Will be spending my money elsewhere. read more

So excited threading has finally made it to Waimea! Rachel is so sweet and does an amazing job. Thankful to have threading back in my life, and can't wait to explore some other services as well! read more

Rachel is absolutely amazing. So professional and you feel like you're in good hands. I came to her after having such a terrible experience at another salon in town that completely messed up my brows and she got me back on track. Been going to her for about 6 months now and I'll never go anywhere else in Honolulu! The atmosphere is really calming and her studio space is clean, the music is on point, and I always leave feeling great. I consistently get compliments right after leaving the place. Definitely check out HNL Aesthetics if you're looking for a solid experience. read more

Fantastic experience! Rachel Moananu is such a talented brow artist - - I HIGHLY recommend her!!! Sweet and polite, very professional and exceptionally skilled, Rachel goes out of her way to make her clients comfortable during the appointment and satisfied with the results. I received the ombre powdered brows semi-permanent makeup procedure and had such a great experience. The results speak for themselves but what the photos don't show you is Rachel's knack for making the client enjoy the process too. She is so knowledgeable and can answer any question or concern regarding the services she offers. If you are considering ANY brow treatment, I can attest to the fact that Rachel is the professional to see!!! I just went to my first appointment with Rachel for eyebrow shaping and a lash lift! Before, it had been over a year since I went to get my eyebrows done due to distrusting previous estheticians for over-plucking and leaving my eyebrows rounded and shapeless. Getting tired of my grown-out brows, I turned to Yelp for help. I'm so glad I came across HNL Aesthetics and listened to all the reviews for Rachel! Rachel is amazing, she's so kind, and absolutely talented at what she does. She made sure I was comfortable the whole duration of our appointment, and answered any questions that I had. The lash lift was something I decided to do at the last minute, and Rachel was able to accommodate me. She was also able to shape my eyebrows like no one has ever been able to do, while still leaving my eyebrows full. When getting my eyebrows plucked at other places, my eyes always watered for how rough they were, but with Rachel, she was so quick and I didn't feel anything! Being a college student, money definitely matters, and Rachel's prices are very reasonable. I'm so happy to have found someone I trust to do my brows :) I will definitely be back for her services. read more

Love the owner. Super professional. Very clean environment and following appropriate protocol for covid!

When you want your brows to be on point and feel like you're in good hands, Rachel is your woman! She's great at both threading and waxing. What I appreciate most is her attention to detail and how warm and non-judgmental she is. The first time I went to see her my brows were a hot mess but she made me feel comfortable and took the time to talk to me about my vision for my brows. I have a scar in one of my brows and she does a great job of working around it. She's also a great listener and supportive. Today I mentioned to her how I wanted to be more consistent with my brows this year and she offered to book my next appointment right then and there. Makes it so much easier for me to follow through. #2018selfcaregoals I always look forward to my time with her and walk out feeling like a million bucks. read more

I've been seeing Rachel for a couple years now. She is the absolute best! I refuse to see anyone else because she does such an incredible job. She always makes me feel so comfortable and does a great job making my waxing/threading as painless as can be. I've been to other waxing places all over the mainland and Rachel far exceeds anyone I've ever seen, by far the best customer service I've ever had. If you haven't seen Rachel for your needs, you're missing out!! Parking is super easy by the way. She validates and it's good for 3 hours. Rachel is always super fast with her services so it's nice to know I can walk around and grab a bite to eat if I want. Her room is absolutely adorable, clean, and comfortable- which makes my time with her that much more relaxing. Her prices are SO reasonable! With the quality and service, it's definitely super affordable. I've had my brows done at other places before, but they always take too much hair off and it ended up looking worse than before, but Rachel has completely fixed my brows and they look SO good now! I am so thankful I found Rachel!! read more

Rachel is incredible! She's a sweetheart and really takes the time and care to listen to what you are looking for and what you need. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. HNL Aesthetics is my one and only waxing/ threading location. Rachel has been my go to for leg, Brazilian, upper lip, and OF COURSE brow waxing/ threading for years now. She is professional yet so friendly. I look forward to all my appointments with Rachel, knowing that everything she does will be properly done and come out better then expected. I was looking around on Yelp for another person to do my eyebrows, as the person who I went to previously always made me wait for a while because she took walk-ins (even when I had an appointment scheduled). I was searching and came across HNL Aesthetics with super great reviews about Rachel. Rachel was very accommodating, as I texted her on Monday and I was able to get an appointment Tuesday morning as she had an opening. It was very easy to schedule an appointment with her. Rachel was super personable asking me about how I would like my brows done and how I went about my everyday life with it before she started to thread. During the entire process, she made sure I was comfortable and asked me if I liked it and if there was anything that I wanted to do more. She was so easy to talk to and you could tell she really was knowledgeable when it came to all things about brows. She was very quick and made it as painless as possible for me. We were even able to have a friendly conversation as she was doing my brows! She was so skilled! Since I didnt wear makeup going in, she was still able to fill in my eyebrows lightly with brow powder and I absolutely loved how they looked after! The salon was very cool and very nicely decorated and the room she took me to was so clean! Parking is very easy, I was able to park in the Kakaako Waterfront parking lot and she validates as well! I finally found my go-to person for everything about brows! Thank you so much, Rachel :) read more

A M A Z I N G = RACHEL'S WORK! I moved to Seattle a year ago and went through 4 different aestheticians before finding Rachel. She is detailed, clean and cares about my likes and dislikes. I've been searching for a few years for someone who could maintain my brows just they way I wanted. Along with my searches I found ppl who wanted to do then their way and I was never happy. Eventually I found my way to Rachel . Thank god my for my lash lady recommending her!! I finally found someone who talks to me about what I want and how I want them to ultimately look like. THATS RARE!!! I shoot her my concerns and comments and she most definitely takes them into consideration when she's thread my brows. Yup, I said it....threading. Someone on island who knows exactly what she's doing and she does it well!! This isn't my first time trying threading. The other time I was never happy and promised myself I would stick to wax. I took a chance and gambled and won! She threads and then cleans up what hair that might be missed. Since we are reshaping and we all know about having to let the brows grow in order to get them to how you want them. She fills in the brows with a pencil (that she also has available on hand- no need to go to the store). So when you leave, you look totally complete! For so many reasons I found someone who takes my ideas and blends them with her talents and provides the best out come and the best conversations!!!!!! For that she's found herself a forever client. Thank you so much Rachel. Let it be noted...she has so many other services that I'll be trying. #waxeverything #hairfree #browgorgeous #fianllyifoundone #thankful read more

Rachel is the best! It was sort of hard getting the initial brow appointment. But Rachel really goes far and beyond to make things work for me. She is amazing at her craft. I told I wanted the natural look with my brows. She not only made them look natural she made them clean. I love going every month. And I am absolutely happy to find such an amazing threader. Last monthmy eyebrows were too thin for my liking. The next appointment I had I told her I liked my eyebrows more full. She was nice enough to accommodate my needs. I love Rachel and I will go to her for my threading needs. Also she is very friendly and very easy to talk to. read more

I moved to Oahu a few months ago and was searching for a place to do eyebrow threading for quite some time (I'm super picky when it comes to my brows). LOVED getting my brows threaded by Rachel. I finally found my go-to brow gal! I've never had them threaded before, but Rachel did such an amazing job and definitely knows what she's doing. Rachel has a very warm, easygoing personality that makes you feel comfortable from the first meeting. She is proficient in shaping and threading eyebrows and I would recommend others to try her. However, I would recommend researching micro blading options if you are thinking of trying this service. Just a tip and suggestion: the parking at the Waterfront Plaza, aka, Restaurant Row is very expensive despite having validation . Currently, payment of parking fees are paid only through credit card . Hopefully in the near future, management will reconsider their fees for the parking as this is a real turn off for the consumer and hurts the businesses that already pay a high rent there. read more

Rachel is my one stop shop for waxing my brows, threading my lip, and waxing any other part of me. I have been going to Rachel for over 5 years now and she is the only one I trust with brows and waxing needs . Do not hesitate to tell her what your vision is .. she will make it a reality! read more

I'm so happy I was referred to see Racheal for ombré brows! I had microblading previously, but Racheal recommended ombré and I'm so happy she did . ombré looks natural and effortlessly stunning. It also stayed on a lot longer then microblading. Racheal's color match, brow shape, technique, is perfect . You can just trust her, you will get the very best outcome. Racheal improved my look by recommending lash lift which was a bonus. You get a natural lash extension look without the maintenance or having to adapt to routines and getting use to fake lashes. I feel so pretty and now always looking girly without having to do much . Thank you HNL aesthetics for having such great beauty leaders like Racheal. So appreciative I found Rachel on Yelp! Excellent threading and can't wait to do more with my brows (ie microblading).

I moved to Oahu back in Dec. 2017 from CA. It was hard for me to transition over to a new lady as I had been going to my previous lady for the last 5 years.. after some research and finally deciding to give it a try. Rachel made that transition VERY easy. Although my previous eyebrow lady was good, Rachel does exceed that. She is very welcoming, she talks to you and makes you feel very comfortable. She asks you HOW you like your eyebrows done (thick, thin, high arch, no arch etc.) and really treats that as an art. She is very real about the whole process and any questions I had.. such as even getting a bikini which I have never done before but trust her enough to get it done by her and her only. I would recommend booking in advance if possible only because she is quite popular and has appointments booked for up to a month. read more

Rachel is seriously the best at what she does. Not only is she extremely skilled and passionate about what she does, but she's also SO FRIENDLY AND CARING! This was my very first eyebrow threading experience, for fear of my eyebrows being messed up and way too thin (I am that girl) and I was not disappointed. She took amazing care of me, made me feel so at ease and like I could trust her. I'm putting my tweezing days behind me and seeing her for all of my threading needs! read more

I've religiously followed Rachel for all my waxing needs over the years. (7-8 years or so?!) HNL aesthetics is a clean, modern spot with super easy parking and centrally located. Rachel is so kind, professional and makes the process as painless (waxing part) as it can be. It can be a stressful experience, but she answers all your questions and puts you at ease. All her services are top notch and current with the trends (threading, micro blading, lash/brow tinting, etc) but above all, she is such a professional who knows her trade. Thanks Rachel! read more
