I tried on a cute zip-up sweatshirt, but something about the fit wasn't quite right. It was the right size, but something about the cut wasn't exactly right for me. The lovely person helping me cheerfully offered to go in the back and get another one of the same size and color to see if it made a difference, and sure enough, this second one was perfect! It fit great and I bought it. (I also picked up some other gifts for others, too). It's so nice when salespeople go the extra mile to help, especially when what you're asking for seems a little illogical (lol!) but it makes all the difference in the world! If you're looking for gifts in York, there are several options of where you could browse... but Beach Dog is where you want to buy. So glad to support a business that provides the kind of customer service that is so hard to find anymore.

I stopped into this boutique during an evening stroll and unfortunately had a really uncomfortable…read moreexperience. I had my baby with me in a carrier, and from the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being closely watched. While I was in the dressing room trying on clothes, I was talking softly to my baby to comfort her. The employee stood right outside the dressing room and was giggling at what I was saying, which made it very clear she was listening and hovering nearby. Instead of feeling like a customer, I felt like I was being monitored, as if there was concern I might steal something. And then as I came out of the fitting room and let her know I didn't find anything and thanked her, she went straight into the room, I have no doubt to make sure I didn't steal anything. As a mom just trying to shop with her baby, this felt really discouraging and unwelcoming. I left feeling uncomfortable and out of place. I hope the boutique can work on creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for all customers.
