I should have read the reviews on the Cyrville store. You have to look high and low for a sales agent. After which there is no sales pitch or information provided, just waiting to get your money. I got emails and calls confirming Tuesday delivery date, took time off from work and no delivery. When I called to find out they lie and say we left a voicemail to inform you your delivery is Thursday. I say it was already scheduled and I got emails and calls confirming , so it would be better to apologise for missing the delivery rather than just informing me of a delivery date. It doesn't end there. The washer dryer arrive. The crew do not fit the vent kit saying they cannot do it. I call the Cyrville location and they say the delivery guys cannot fit the vent kit as it needs a licensed plumber. In actual fact the vent took all of 5 mins to connect. When I tried to return the vent kit which was not required and an oversell on their part, they blamed me for not giving it back to the delivery guys and that after 7 days they do not accept returns. When I ask do what do I do with this since it's your fault that I have a useless vent kit, the Manager says you are free to just leave it here and go.!!! No wonder the staff provide sub standard service - they have a fine example of customer service in their Manager. They say that they do not charge interest and give you 36 installments , but then add on a $200 service charge. Who are they fooling. This is false advertising. Don't buy from the Brick. read more

Unfortunately and without further contact from the Brick the delivery window passed by almost an hour... no truck. When I called they told us that nothing was shipped from Toronto warehouse and it would be four days before we had any part of our order, also told there was nothing they could or would do to help us. We went to Mattress Mart near us and bought a better mattress and bed for less money which was delivered next day, so one uncomfortable night only. When my wife went in the next day to get a refund from The Brick the manager denied her saying we made a commitment and was quite belligerent towards her! Had to contact their HO to complain and finally two days later we had to drive back to the store again to get the refund. Based on what I see online this type of scenario occurs often, we will never shop there again after being lied to, treated like criminals and idiots! read more

We picked up a 75 inch Hisense TV on July 18 from The Brick on Cyrville Road in Ottawa. When we opened the box the next morning, and plugged the TV, vertical lines appeared on the screen and we could not proceed with the set-up. We immediately contacted the Brick and were advised to contact the Manufacturer Hisense, since they warranty the product for the first year. This was our next call. Hisense informed us that since this was physical damage to the TV, therefore it was not covered under warrant. Since the TV was obviously damaged prior to us picking it up, we asked to escalate this issue since it was defective out of the box. We have been in contact with Hisense for over 2.5 weeks to try to get resolution on this issue. We even contacted our The Brick salesperson (John C) , who once again informed us that we needed to deal with Hisense directly. Hisense always promised to get back to us within 24 to 48 hours, they never did. We were the ones initiating all contacts. We have been given the run around from both Hisense and The Brick. On August 8, We returned to the store and were informed by the sales manager that the brick has a 48 hour return policy, which we were never advised of this policy by our salesperson nor is this policy on our sales receipt. Policy should be clearly indicated on the invoices, Sales person have to be more transparent with their clients. They gladly took our money but will not help in any way. The after sale customer service is horrible and The Brick will never get our business again. THANK YOU THE BRICK, WE ARE NOW STUCK WITH A 75 INCH TV THAT YOU WILL NOT EVEN TAKE BACK FOR DISPOSAL. Wish I could give a zero. Service sucks. We purchased a fridge last week and told ready for pickup on Wednesday the 3rd of January. Arrived to pick it up now told not ready and they have a delivery being made Friday should be on that one. We asked for a refund and my husband lost his bank card when wallet stolen. They will not refund us on the bank card replacement and now will have to wait 10 to 15 days for a refund cheque. Best Buy has a fridge in stock now can't get it as no refund from them. We can't wait as now have no fridge and no way to get one. Wow you guys really suck. read more

I purchased bedroom dressers and night tables. They were beautiful but expensive. They refused to offer free delivery. Their sister store Leons offers free delivery. If you want your purchase to be set up your are looking at at minimum of 100. and a different date other than the delivery date. I explained I was a senior and on a limited income and they didn't care one iota. This is not a customer friendly store to shop. If you are a senior don't bother shopping at the Brick. read more

Horrible customer service. The lady in the office area who rang up my bill behind the desk didn't even glance my way, just took my money and passed me the receipt. No hello, no eye contact. I felt like I was bothering her. The salesman was condescending -- he kept calling me "young lady" as if I were too young to be buying a couch. I'm 21 with my own money. I don't need someone talking down to me. They look down on you if you're a woman and prefer to speak with male customers. We bought a couch 5 months ago that reclines with a button. The couch overheated and zapped out! It took forever to get a technician to come over, and then when he did, he said it would take him weeks to get the part in to fix the couch. Good thing I bought a 5 year warranty, but a couch that is 5 months old shouldn't malfunction! Terrible store, terrible employees. I'd rather sit on the floor than buy anything else from here. I am being told that they can take my chaise and refund me but part of my couch will be missing. there had also been no answers on the cushions that will no longer stay zipped up and when I mention them they never respond. if I try to make a claim I lose the warranty money I paid cause once you make a claim you don't get that money back after the warranty period ends. so even if I were to agree to return the chaise I still lose as I made a claim. Bought a mattress from the Brick and just had it delivered. wow I'm still in shock at what a terrible experience that was. they didn't come prepared, had no idea what was going on and in the end didn't leave with my old mattress and box spring that they were supposed to pick up. they literally just drove off as we were talking to them...really? it's their job...I won't shop at the brick again just because of their delivery service. read more

Then when we received it, all items we received had a scratch on it or something wrong with it.. We decided to exchange the 2 night tables because they were really bad. Bought an appliance a month ago, was assured by the salesperson that it would arrive there to be delivered two weeks ago, received my receipt with 0$ owing. Was called by them to arrange for delivery, told the appliance was in, and that they were just waiting for a day I could receive. When I called back to arrange delivery, the appliance had disappeared. I was also told that I still owed money for it, I was told that I didn't owe money for it. I was told that it both was and wasn't in stock. I was told it should be "a few more days". All of these different answers came within a 15 minute phone call where I was passed around to assorted people, even though I requested to be talking to the original salesperson. I don't believe that I was ever talking to the original salesperson, as nobody ever identified themselves. Was told that I'd receive an update a week later, never got a call. Have been trying to call them routinely, they don't seem to ever answer any messages left or pick up the phones before 5pm, even though they open at 10am. Ordered a dishwasher online on the 21May. It was going to be in-stock around the end of June. This is fine, so my dishwasher arrives June 25. I go to pick it up and it doesn't fit in my SUV, I go to the customer service to arrange for delivery. The customer service rep sets the delivery up for July 7. ( $100.00- ouch) Now here's the kicker, I get a message from The Brick informing me my dishwasher is on manufacturer back order and will not be in until the end of July. I call back and left them a message to contact me, informing them my dishwasher was in-stock. Missed their call and called back in and the customer service rep tells me again that my dishwasher is on backorder. I told her my story and told her to find it. I was on a long hold and she comes back and tells me it is in the store and sets up a new delivery time. read more

This company is the worst. Not only did they charge me a $150 delivery fee because I live outside their delivery area (I live about 200 metres outside the area), but when their idiot drivers arrived in my town with the mattress I ordered, they encountered a less-than-five-minute delay because of a lane reduction. (I know; I went through just before they crapped out. I had to wait through two turns, and it only delayed me a minute or two.) Did they wait the few minutes and deliver the mattress. No. These idiots took a picture of the cars lined up, emailed it to HQ, wrote that there was an "obstruction" and turned around. When I phoned to complain, I got some halfwit who told me they wouldn't deliver until I could guarantee no delays (like I control the local rad works). The only thing that exceeds their stupidity is their arrogance. If I could give them no stars I would. Avoid these scumbags like the plague they are, under no circumstances buy anything online from them, and never pay for delivery, which is a scam to squeeze more money out of their marks. read more

I ordered a sofabed. it was about 6 weeks late. but then when they delivered it, they broke the doorbell. I sent an email right away and heard nothing. so I followed up and they had not delivered it to Fleet delivery. Customer service told me it was not their problem. I called the manager several times who was never available and never called me back. an operations manager called me to say it was denied. Interestingly, the email address of the person who denied it was not at Fleet but was at the brick. She told me they did not break it, it was old, and she agreed. She just stonewalled me. she said you can contact central office on their website and, and the contact I had on the website said I could not. I wanted to shop Canadian instead of the US or Sweden, and this is what I got. Bad service and a broken doorbell. read more

Wow - I am someone who pretty much only writes positive reviews, but the customer service I have received is so terrible I am forced to write how terrible they are! Not once but twice did I have mix ups and waited for the products. The delivery guy who was training the other guy behaved like an aggressive and condescending jerk! On top of it, he lied to my face telling me a plumber was on his way when there is no plumber coming. This is the second time the delivery guys have damaged property and this time they chipped my countertops! Absolute baffoon! Then when I called they were obnoxious and rude and unhelpful. My wife and I have been buying products from the Brick for over thirty years. In November of 2022 we bought a relatively high end LG dishwasher off of this store. Machine failed completely (motor replacement and leaking) one month later. We been updating the store constantly every time we have an issue (it has been unusable since that first week of December) and asking questions about refund and return policy. Today (24th of January) I went to the store to ask that they at least refund our extended warranty while we deal with LG. I'll be brief: I was treated like dirt. The person identifying themselves as a "manager" at customer service would not eve stand up and come to the counter. They basically lectured be from across the room about how their "store policy" dictates that the client has 30 days to request a refund on the warranty. I have never been treated this poorly by a self-identified manager in over thirty years as a consumer. Go to this store if you want to be treated like dirt and left unsupported when something they sell you fails. read more

Had a very bad experience recently where the wrong fridge was ordered by our sales rep... phone number for the store in Ottawa now not working... tried contacting other stores and nobody can help us in exchanging what is clearly not what we had ordered... very disappointed in this poor quality service... have been leaving multiple messages with our sales rep with no return... would not recommend and would not go back... also still waiting for our dryer which we ordered in May... for a store this big very poor service... once they have your money nobody cares... read more

EDIT: Thanks to Chris Evans, a salesman at this location, who encouraged me to get this situation sorted out! Once the right people at the Brick heard this story, they came and picked up the mattress at my convenience for free, so kudos to the Brick staff!! I guess the lesson learned is when dealing with the Brick, be persistent and keep talking to members of management until you find the right one! Overall this is a store that wants to see happy returning customers! Awful experience! Sales people are very poorly trained and when you want to fix the matter at hand the management team is extremely disinterested and unhelpful! I had not dealt with the Brick in over ten years because of poor customer service and made the mistake of going back.... I encourage everyone, before buying at the Brick to look up more customer reviews like this one.... it's quite shocking just how many there are! Now I am stuck with an old mattress because no one thought to point out they would refuse to pick it up upon delivery of the new one and the only solution is another inconvenience and my time and money.... the last mattress I bought from another store picked up the old one without a second thought! Horrible experience. Ordered a floor model dresser and night stand. On the day set up for delivery (which I had to take a day off for), no one delivered. I called and was informed that the dresser was being shipped from Toronto, even though we bought the floor model... had to reschedule delivery twice since they then wanted to deliver only the night table and I wasn't going to take two extra days off for two different delivery dates... when they finally delivered the furniture one of the drawer and two brackets to hold two other drawers were broken... That was the recent experience. On a previous experience a few years back, they delivered a white fridge and a stainless steel oven (because people usually order appliances of two different colors to put in their kitchen, obviously!) read more

I have a bit of a mixed opinion about this store. Let me tell you my story... My boyfriend and I just bought a house so, obviously, we need new furniture. We planned on hitting 6 stores in the city on the weekend. We started with the Brick. Walked in, were initially greeted by an employee who was not at all pushy. Just wanted to know if we were looking for anything specific and to let him know if we needed a hand. Typically commission based speel. We walk around and find a dining set we love that is in the as-is section. Missing chairs and missing the leaves. The chairs we weren't worried about but the leaves were a big deal. What's the point of buying an extending table if you don't have the leaves to extend it? An employee comes by and we ask him if the leaves come with the table. He says he doesn't know but will check. Acceptable answer. 5 minutes later, he comes back. Same answer. He is unsure but assumes that because they aren't currently with it that they don't come with the table. We ask if we can buy them separately. Again, no answer. He says he'll go check. 10 minutes later he hasn't returned. So we decide to leave. We stop by the computer where he is working to let him know we're not interested anymore and ask him a few other questions about the table. His last words to us "It's rubberwood." I ask him, what is that? ... He had to ask his manager exactly what rubberwood was ... final straw, I was gone. We hit the other stores in the city and did not find anything that even came close to comparing to the dining set we loved at the Brick. I did my research on the Brick website and started trying to figure out cost of buying the same table new. On a whim, we decided to go back to the Brick and look at the table. Keep in mind, this is now 4-5 hours into furniture shopping so we're both getting tired and frustrated. We walk into the store and begin looking at couches again. There was a set of Bonded Leather sofas that we loved. We just needed to know if the bonded leather would stand up to the kids as much as real leather would. We walk around and are greeted by a different salesman, Eddy. Eddy was AMAZING. He had EVERY answer in the world for us. Explained bonded leather to us, talked to us about warranties, gave us every detail of how to protect our furniture. He was great. Then, he says to us "Our President's Sale was yesterday. Let me see if the code is still active. It would let you buy one, get the second at 75% off." MAGIC. I understand that this is yet another sales technique BUT the fact of the matter is, we were never offered this deal the first time we came into the store. So, Eddy comes back to us and says he can get us the deal. AMAZING. We tell him we're also looking for a dining room table. He asks us to show him which one. We do - he excuses himself and goes to the computer. Minutes later, he comes back and asks us to follow him. He shows us the price breakdown. We ended up buying the sofa, loveseat, dining room table with 6 chairs (he got us the chairs for 50 each - they are 200 dollars chairs), an extended warranty worth 329.99 all for 2900$. It should have cost us well over 4000. An incredible easy experience. As we're leaving, Eddy tells us that should we want the extra two chairs, he'll work out a deal for us (which he wrote down on the receipt as proof). Long story short, we go back the next day and buy 2 more dining chairs, an accent chair, 4 accent pillows and a warranty ... all for 850$. Again, it should have cost us well over 1000. Oh - and best part of all this, instead of waiting the 2 weeks delivery as is typical of furniture stores ... all of it is getting delivered today. We ordered it all last weekend. Less than a week turn around time ... MIND BLOWING. My SECOND experience at the Brick was AMAZING and SIMPLE. If you get the right person, you're flying. So, find that sales associate that you like and stick with him. I won't buy furniture from the Brick without speaking to Eddy. read more

Poor delivery and horrible customer service!!!!!! I ordered a sofa and mattress last saturday. My delivery date was today between 08:15-11:15am. At 12pm I called for having the updated of my late delivery the customer service informed me that the team was on the way and confirmed that in 1 hour I should received it. At 1:30pm their team called me and said that the driver was sick and they will be delayed for approxiametly one hour. At 3:30pm I called back the team and they informed me that they could not deliver my furniture today!!! And I've paid 90cad for this poor delivery and waste for nothing all my saturday. This time I called the customer service and said what happened but the lady became rude and answered that this kind of unexpected issues can arrive and they could not have the control. I purchased a 42" Plasma TV at this location and in a few weeks it didn't work properly. I called and I had to wait for an appointment with their service department (Trans Global). The service man came and told me that I need a replacement TV. I had to wait for the new one to be delivered. The 2nd TV came and in 1 week the TV turned to black and white and screeching for sound. I called and then the run around became. The Brick told me to call Trans Global because they need a requisition. I called Trans Global and they told me to call The Brick. No lie, this went on all afternoon, for hours. Trans Global was great but The Brick was awful. The customer service there does not exist. You can't receive anyone and nobody is willing to take any responsibility. I was suppose to get a replacement TV if the TV failed in the first month and the two TV's went in the first month. The Brick is responsible to get me a replacement 42" Plasma TV or LCD. I have a few messages in with Toronto and no call back yet. Also, the couch I purchased the same day is crooked but I didn't want to deal with that until they did something with the TV. I purchased a washer & dryer and 3 1/2 months later they don't have the washer. I don't want just the dryer and then get the washer, they may not match. I have sent emails and The Brick makes it very hard to get a hold of anybody. Don't buy anything there. They are horrible. read more

(5 days without a fridge.) May 18, 2014: freezer is no longer freezing new items placed in freezer. Called The Brick, was transferred to Trans Global. May 21, 2014: technician visit #1: will need to order a part; said he would return Friday, May 23. Technician did not return Friday; Trans Global has no follow up on record from technician. New appointment set for Saturday, May 24. May 24: technician visit #2: part replaced. Gas extracted and new gas added. May 25 to June 4: noticed water on floor at times; initially unsure of its source and finally determined it was from the refrigerator. June 4, 2014: called Trans Global. Appointment set for June 10. June 10, 2014: technician visit # 3; technician released surplus gas. July 22, 2014: fridge is no longer cooling. Called Trans Global. Work order issued (2771932). Service appointment scheduled for July 31! July 24, 2014: freezer is no longer freezing. Called Trans Global; service appointment moved to July 25. July 25, 2014: technician visit #4: there is no gas left in fridge; the fan is not working. Technician said he will return Monday, July 28 to replace the fan. (What about the gas leak?...) I asked about getting a new replacement fridge. Trans Global says I only have 2 service calls on record (2 work orders) despite having 4 service calls and a fridge that is still not working. July 28, 2014: Technician did not return Monday; no contact from tech, and no response to phone message left on his cell. Called Trans Global. No report back from tech. Asked that my file be updated. July 29, 2014: still no response from tech. Called Trans Global. Representative said a message will be sent to "dispatch". I asked for copies of the work orders and was told "dispatch" handles these requests. Still unsuccessful at speaking with management at The Brick. July 30, 2014: 8 days without a fridge. Prepared this list. Contacted Trans Global again today; representative said he will put a rush request for follow up. Still no update on record from Monday's call to Trans Global. July 30, 2014. Called Samsung, 18007267864. Spoke to a rep from the service department. They are awaiting report from the tech that will recommend replacement of the unit. Samsung will need to confirm that this is the way to go. July 30 , 2014. Voice mail from Trans Global. A part has been ordered and is expected in by August 5. Trans Global will call when the part is in and I can then schedule an appointment for the technician visit. (That will be 14 days without a working fridge; the fridge has no gas - gas leak somewhere - and a fan that is not working. I wonder what part was ordered!) August 1, 2014. Called Samsung 9:15 a.m. Ticket # 4125-268-456. There is no record of the report from the technician recommending replacement. Rep added that it may not have come in through service. Also said that because a part has already been ordered, I should let them do the repairs. I closed by saying - for the recording - that the fridge has already been repaired 3 times without success and that at August 5, I will have been without a fridge for 14 days with a fridge that hasn't worked properly since May... My wife and I purchased a floor model sectional couch from the Brick on Cyrville Road. For the reason it was a floor model it had no warranty.We purchased this in good faith and after only 6 months to a year one of the cushions started to sink. I called the Brick ant they had asked me to take pictures.I took a bunch of pictures and flipped the couch over only to realize that the material had been previously opened prior to us purchasing the unit. The material where the cushion had sunk had been glue sticked back together. We opened the material and found a cluster of speaker wire , mechanics wire and a small piece of pressed wood under the defective cushion. After several calls to the Brick they have completely washed their hands of the situation. No one mentioned when I had purchased the couch it was repaired previously. I should have known better at my age of 53 not to purchase a floor model couch with no warranty or without at least giving it 110% inspection . I am very disappointed in this purchase and will never buy a floor model couch again. I will pay the extra money and shop for quality. read more

Horrible customer service! When We walked into the store we saw 3 salespersons just standing around, no greeting, didn't ask if we needed help. Just looked at us like we're unwanted visitors. I had to chase a salesman around just to get my order. They then entered the wrong code for my order, tried to blame me for their mistakes, when they finally corrected the error, another misunderstanding occurred with the delivery men(who didn't even bother to check what they're supposed to be delivering and just left when we informed them there could be a mistake, didn't wait for explanation whatsoever-just left)I called the store, once again blamed me. Asked me to call them back, when I finally got someone They told me they'd call me back within 30 minutes. I waited about an hour and a half, when I tried to call them back in case they forgot, they wouldn't answer my calls. Just horrible experience! After spending thousands of dollars at this place and the treatment I received, never again. read more

People in this store (Ottawa East) do not care about the customers. The supervisor is rude. She isn't fit to be the supervisor of any company. they do not help the customers resolve their issues. read more

The Brick had a three hour sale on a Saturday. Upon entering the store the sales people were helpful. Especially Rima who was very friendly quick and efficient. That is where the good service started and ended. After our purchase the customer service plummeted. We purchased a floor model TV which they started packing while we paid. When we went to go pick it up it took an additional 30 minutes to pack into a box because the gentleman was doing multiple things at once while we were the only customers waiting. We got the TV home and unpacked it but there was no power cable. I had gone in to address the issue at the customer service desk. I was standing at the desk for 10 minutes without ANY acknowledgement from the employees working. The reason for the delay, two employee were discussing a delivery mix up for a client that was not present at the store. As the employees had their conversation I was ignored. Which is ironic as right above where I was standing there was a sticker say 'our customers come first'. I was so frustrated that I went to the front of the store to ask a sales person for help because they were ignoring me. None of the 4 standing there took charge of the situation they sent me back to the help desk. They were so unhelpful that my husband returned the following day and asked to speak with the manager so that we could get a power cable. The manager had four people looking for it and he left the store 20 minutes later with the cable. I work in a customer service industry and my company prides itself on providing excellent customer service and doing everything we can to turn negative situations around. The way the Brick handled the situation is disgusting. We spent $4,000 there and were hung out to dry once the transaction was processed. Accountability, responsibility and attentiveness go hand in hand with customer service but not with this business. I will not be returning. I would rather pay a little more to receive the appropriate customer service than to waste my money on a company that is hypocritical. read more

i wont get into a big speech but wowww man. one happy customer. i bought a few things including a sofa and loveseat and they said i would receive it the following wednesday which i did and the back of the loveseat had a bit of a scrape to it and when i called they said take a picture on your cell phone and come in to see us. well i did just that and they took care of me. the brick on cyrville road, thank you !!!! like arnold said in terminator '' i,ll be back'' read more
