TL;DR/The Short Version: Used to be a Lowe's now a RONA+…read more Good for hardware and home improvement stuff. The plants in their garden centre aren't in the best shape :( The Long Version: I don't know the full history, but once upon a time, Lowe's, RONA and Home Depot were the big box home improvement stores in Canada. Then Lowe's bought RONA and converted some RONA stores into Lowe's stores, then Lowe's decided to pull out of Canada and sold its Canadian stores to a firm called Sycamore Partners so some Lowe's locations in Canada became RONA+ stores and the rest closed down. So there are still RONA stores around, but the ownership is different from the RONA of days past. This RONA location used to be a Lowe's. Home improvement/hardware stores are not my favourite types of stores, but my husband and father love these types of stores. However, I recently got into houseplants, so whenever my husband and I go to these types of stores to look for home improvement stuff, I go to the garden centre to check out the plants. When I went in March, the plant selection was small and they had some small succulents that were in really rough shape. All etiolated and some leaves were yellowing/browning really bad :( They had some larger succulents in better shape and some cacti that seemed to be doing well. Selection was small in general and in general the plants were in poorer shape here than at other big box stores. The rest of the store looked fine and my husband found what he was looking for. So overall I would say this location is good for home improvement stuff, but not indoor plants from my experience. Lots of free parking. Review #87 (2025)

The only issue has been our experience with our Kitchen Aid induction cooktop. Thinking of buying one...? Please don't! Our 3-year old cooktop started beeping and shutting down. The Extended Warranty covered the part and after two tries the service contractor called Whirlpool (the granddaddy of all appliance companies!). They said the "part was no longer available!" They meant the Induction top board not the ubiquitous control board. As a result our Induction top/ stove is no longer reparable and is basically junkable! So we are looking to replace a 3 yo stove! So UA gets 5 stars, but Kitchen Aid gets 0! How to compute the review?

The appliance was delivered at 5.30am by a very intimidating man who refused to unpack it or lift it onto the kitchen counter. I am a 60+ year old woman and was alone in the house. His parting comment was thar he expected a positive review of the service. Universal Appliance was totally disinterested in my experience. 5.30am was dark (it was Winter), obviously, I was still in bed, clearly not expecting a delivery. I struggled to lift the appliance and had to ask a neighbour for help. Universal Appliance had said that instillation was covered by the additional cost but were dismissive of my experience. The experience was, quite frankly both disturbing and threatening. I have bought an Aga stove and the Sharp multi function microwave from this company. I will never patronize them again.

After which there is no sales pitch or information provided, just waiting to get your money. I got emails and calls confirming Tuesday delivery date, took time off from work and no delivery. When I called to find out they lie and say we left a voicemail to inform you your delivery is Thursday. I say it was already scheduled and I got emails and calls confirming , so it would be better to apologise for missing the delivery rather than just informing me of a delivery date. It doesn't end there. The washer dryer arrive. The crew do not fit the vent kit saying they cannot do it. I call the Cyrville location and they say the delivery guys cannot fit the vent kit as it needs a licensed plumber. In actual fact the vent took all of 5 mins to connect. When I tried to return the vent kit which was not required and an oversell on their part, they blamed me for not giving it back to the delivery guys and that after 7 days they do not accept returns. When I ask do what do I do with this since it's your fault that I have a useless vent kit, the Manager says you are free to just leave it here and go.!!! No wonder the staff provide sub standard service - they have a fine example of customer service in their Manager. They say that they do not charge interest and give you 36 installments , but then add on a $200 service charge. Who are they fooling. This is false advertising. Don't buy from the Brick.
