They had the model in stock and were able to deliver it in 5 days! They gave us a very good price on the stove and the delivery. The truck came when promised, the men installed our new stove and took away the old one. They did everything smoothly, no scratches anywhere, took away all the garbage, even the stickers. They were very friendly and professional. I would recommend them for any type of appliance.

But the Lakes region isn't the kind of place where you can run over to Sears or Home Depot, pick out an appliance for delivery, and be done with it. We were struggling with how to replace that 1970s behemoth as we strolled around Port Carling when at the top of the hill rose Brown's Appliances. Brown's is a throwback to the small town Maytag store, family-owned and operated. Our sales associate, Jennifer, was extremely helpful throughout the entire process of selecting the refrigerators (we decided to replace the defunct mini-fridge in the bunkie as well), having the old ones hauled away, and installing the new. We appreciated her constant communication, particularly on the morning of delivery when it turned out the model of fridge we'd selected was only available in black in their warehouse. Jennifer assured us she was sending out a comparable model in white. In a typically American fashion, I suppose, we suspected a bait-and-switch, Googled the subbed-in model, and discovered its retail price was actually about $100 more than the one we'd originally selected. Brown's honesty and willingness to make up for their error really impressed us. We were equally impressed by the two burly men (one of whom was Jennifer's brother) who came and took the old refrigerators out *without* a dolly or hand truck. It couldn't have been easier, more pleasant, or any cheaper to have replaced a massive appliance in a part of Canada where even gas stations are few and far between. And we couldn't be happier with our gleaming, brand spankin' new beauty.

With the current lock down restrictions we did everything by phone. So we bought a $1000 dishwasher to handle the heavy dishwashing requirements we have with a family of 5, purchased the extended warranty (another $100) after being reassured that the risk of a failure would be mitigated and have "no worries" this important piece of our kitchen facilities at home. 13 months into the life of the dishwasher it failed we have spent over 50 hours hand washing dishes, 4th week with out a working dishwasher, 4th technician's visit, and had the technician just leave (as I had predicted would happen to McDonald's service manager) scratching his head saying" there is only one more part to change on this machine and if that doesn't work, I don't know what to do". I had previously contacted the McDonald's service team and cc'd McDonald's owners last week to ask for a new dishwasher. Their response was they have no control over the service as it is all OUTSOURCED and have now become non-responsive following my last email requesting proper customer service and support. So be warned, this company no longer has any control over their level of customer service for the appliances they sell and are not willing to stand-up and take responsibility for the products they sell with misguided button popping pride and tradition. Super friendly and professional - he had everything ready so we didnt waste time. He showed us our appliances and held our paperwork while we had to deal with a hiccup about the appliances on the builders end (they sold us something that was technically more upgraded than what we were supposed to get) Once confirmed the upgraded appliances were OK to go , Derek had the order processed and with our closing date arriving soon hes always 1 step ahead and is always in contact about delivery and installation. So two weeks ago we set out to buy a small upright freezer. We looked all over, and other than Lowes, delivery was well into April at most. Again... they cancelled out of the blue. Finally we found Groves Tv and Appliances in Clinton. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. They not only assured us they would have it to us in a few days, but in seeing the delivery truck arrive today, I was amazed. One person in the delivery truck and up behind pulled a work van with the second person. They obviously care about their staff! They then unboxed the freezer for us and put in inside the door, which is a blessing for the elderly. Finally, the freezer was sprayed so we would not be exposed to anything coming in here. Again, totally amazing. I will in future take all of my business to Groves. Such care and consideration for not only their staff, but also the customer is something not often seen.
