Go anywhere but here I bought a microwave and explained to the salesman Adnan that it needed to fit in a certain size area and I was concerned whether it would fit. based on this I purchased the unit. When I went to return it due to the fact it did not fit I was told by the manager, Bledsoe Bradette that they can not take a return on an open box total contradicting the salesperson. I was told I should have read the policy on the website rather then believe the representations of the sales person. Best they would give me was a 30% restocking fee. Buyer beware. read more

Hello, I am writing to share my recent experience at the Sage Hill location. My family and I arrived at the store at approximately 10:56 a.m. and waited near the entrance until the store opened at 11:00 a.m. At that time, a salesperson welcomed us and let us know he would be happy to assist if we had any questions. We proceeded to the bed frame section to look through the available options. As there were many styles to choose from, it took some time for my wife, our two children, and me to review the selection. After some consideration, we found a bed frame that we liked and asked the salesperson if it was available. He checked his tablet and confirmed that the item was in stock and that we could pick it up the same day. Based on that information, we agreed to purchase the bed frame. The salesperson then told us he needed to speak with his manager and stepped away. When he returned, he informed us that the sale on the item had expired two days earlier and immediately adjusted the price to $350. I explained that we were willing to proceed with the purchase at the previously listed sale price of $250, as that was the price displayed when we selected the item and agreed to buy it. However, he stated that honoring the sale price was not possible. I expressed that this felt unfair given that the item was ticketed at $250 at the time we made our decision. Unfortunately, the salesperson reiterated that there was nothing he could do and did not appear open to discussing the matter further. As the conversation became increasingly tense, my children--who are five and seven years old--began to feel uncomfortable. At that point, I decided it would be best for our family to leave the store. I wanted to bring this experience to your attention, as the pricing discrepancy and the handling of the situation were disappointing. While being well-served by a salesman, and then chatting with his supervisor/manager when he was unable to secure the sale, we were approached by (I can assume) the Head Manager with a condescending and disrespectful 'what does this say here? Can you see this?' as he was referring to a fine print to his employee. No "hello, how can we serve you in this challenge?" Just down right attitude and lack of client service. unbelievably disgusting and I suggest: try every other Brick and/or furniture location before this one for your furnishing needs. my husband bought me a pillow there for Christmas and it was too big. It was still in the package and I wanted to do an exchange and they said because it was a house item they couldn't do that. A $200 pillow and I'm stuck with it. The manager told me there's nothing she could do and that was the end of it. Now I have to contact the company who is probably a shady as The Brick. If you're looking for furniture DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THE BRICK OR THEIR WARRANTY.  We initially purchased a fabric chaise and chair set, but returned it due the numerous issues and after the 3rd delivery we told them to take it back.  Should have learned our lesson but we had a store credit and used it towards a leather set (which we paid more for) and their warranty.   The seams started to rip on the chaise last year and pieces of the vinyl in the front started to come off.  We didn't put the claim in at the time due to COVID and some personal matters we were dealing with at the time that was more important and pressing.  We put in the claim just recently and as expected they denied the warranty indicating we had 14 days from when it occured to put in the warranty claim.  The thing is, the warranty is good for 5 years, and if you use it in the 2nd or 3rd year for anything, then it's the one time you get to use your warranty.  Any issue after that regardless if it's small or big, will not be allowed under the warranty. Save yourself money and time and never buy furniture from The Brick, their products are inferior and don't last long. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I don't usually write reviews, but my experience with this Brick outlet was SO AMAZING BAD I was compelled to. I ordered a fridge, stove and microwave from them, and it was to be delivered two days later. After 4 false delivery dates, I finally received the appliances a month later. Each week they would contact me and give me a delivery date, and on the day I would be waiting at the property for a delivery and they didn't show. This happened 4 times within a month. When I ordered the stove, I very clearly communicated I needed one with a downdraft, and they sold me one with no downdraft. When the stove arrived I had it installed, but since it was sitting in an empty house I was selling, the stove was not used, and I did not realize that it didn't have a downdraft until I was having the home inspected for sale, and the home inspector pointed it out. I assured him it had a downdraft because I specifically ordered on with a downdraft. However upon further investigation I realized he was correct, and the stove had no downdraft. I contacted the store about it to explain the mistake and to see if they would be willing to do an exchange or something because of the misunderstanding, but the lady in the store cut me off and said she could so nothing and then proceeded to hang up on me, I tried to call the store back but there was no answer. I have purchased from The Brick at different locations before with no issues. However this was definitely the worst experience I have ever had at any store ever. NO STARS if possible! BEWARE!!! Return policy is 7 days only, unopened, in original packing. We spent nearly $8000 and want to return a $300 sound bar. We're in our 60s, in the middle of a major downsizing move and quite stressed. Product arrived 8 days (minimum) late but we accepted it. Tried to return the product in 16 days and the manager refused. Asked for the name and phone number of her supervisor and she wouldn't give it to me. Told me to go to the website. I asked her to write down exactly where to go on the site (no reading glasses or phone with me and I'm not really computer literate). She then got really bitchy and said she "couldn't" - I can only assume that she can't write since any rational person would have just done so. I am really unhappy and pissed off at being treated this way! I will never shop there again and I will let my opinion be widely known. read more

Ordered a top of the line dishwasher (1900.00 Bosch dishwasher) online front the brick, along with a new stove (1500.00 LG). There was no option upon checking out online to include installation, and I assumed that it was included with the delivery fee as there was nothing indicating otherwise. When I check out online I added a note that our old appliances had to be removed at the time of delivery. When I received a call from the Brick for delivery again nothing was mentioned about installation (I continued to think it was included and wouldn't be a problem). When I noted that our current appliances had to be removed to the woman from the delivery department I was scolded for not choosing this option online (there was no "option" to include and I had left it as a note w delivery instructions). On the delivery date the stove was taken and plugged in w no issues; however, the delivery guys dropped the new dishwasher in front of my kitchen sink and said they couldn't to anything else as I hadn't schedule installation and that they were electricians. You've got to be kidding me. Had them move it into my living room and proceeded to contact the brick multiple times to schedule (and pay for) "installation." The woman I spoke with was incredibly rude and I unhelpful, and scheduled for our old dishwasher to be picked up (no installation, despite repeated requests with credit card # ready to go). It took several phone calls to figure all of this out. Literally the service was barely competent. Eventually paid for installation and then I was told I would hear from their outsourced installation company within 3 days. Needless to say, this did not happen. A week later I gave up and hired another appliance company to help me - which they did right away and at a better price. The brick can be great for a deal but customer service is a joke - particularly the delivery office at the Sarcee Trail Nw location. Horrible. Also seems like the brick website had a glitch for not including installation as an option upon check out. Will never order anything that requires installation again from the Brick. read more

We were looking for new living room furniture. After looking at several different stores we went to The Brick Beacon Hill and met Sal, who completely knows the meaning of customer service! We sat on several different sofas, sectionals, etc.. Salah A (Sal) was our salesperson. He was very patient and knowledgeable and gave us lots of time and space to try out different options. After our first order we changed our mind from bonded leather to real leather there was no issue in changing the order. Abysmal customer service! Purchased a simmons mattress & foundation two years ago and after a problem started to develop I contacted The Brick to process a warranty claim. While that was straight forward enough and the claim was approved once I went to the store to pick a replacement the games start. Not wanting to honor sale pricing for the replacement, insisting that if I wanted to pick up the replacement mattress I would also have to return the old one (effectively forcing me to pay for delivery). Their arrogance and complete disregard for their customers is very disappointing. Just purchased a vacation property and will be furnishing it from anywhere other than The Brick. read more

Wrong frame ordered by sales rep and ultimately delivered. On delivery the walls were gouged and marked. Stairs stained with I don't know what. Carpets damaged. Ceiling spackle on floor. New box springs covered in black handprints. Useless customer service that plays games. Save yourself grief and go elsewhere. read more

SHARK ATTACK!!! I always feel like a delicious, dangly worm on a hook when I go into the Brick. I swear, we have spent about 40 hours in a couple of Brick stores in Calgary the last 2 weeks and we chose to go with the one closest to our new home being built. As soon as we walk in, you would think they would remember us and that we are now regulars. POUNCE come the salespeople, yes, just doing their job but I really need to meander on my own to see what I like. THEN I can ask questions. We finally had all our selections made by today and dropped almost $5000. Easy to do here but nowhere near the prices of Lazyboy which has a 300% profit margin I was told. The quality may be better at Lazyboy but I have no desire to pay $5500 on a couch. So, the Brick it seems, CAN offer good deals but a lot of the "deals" and flyer prints are misleading. I can tell you this firsthand. At any rate, we got good rates on everything as a whole in a package but I was not falling for the warranty BS. Apparently, these box type stores survive on warranty profits but I am personally highly suspicious of these and their small print that you would never look up until something goes sideways anyways. I flat out refused to pay for delivery with the amount of our purchase. I will add an update when we actually get our stuff this coming weekend. Fingers crossed that nothing is missing or broken as I hope to not have to go back for awhile. I dislike sitting at the desk with the salesperson for over an hour checking out. For those of you looking for a few pieces like chairs, bar stools, ottomans, they do have decent clearout prices. We made sure everything we ordered was in stock too. They can never guarantee you when their goods will be back in at the warehouse. We checked out Leon's as well, same POUNCE situation but other than their clearance section in the back, I did not find their furniture selection as good or as decent price-wise. read more

From the "if it seems too good to be true dept." I bring you my latest experience with Western Canada's favourite discount furniture and electronics retailer The Brick. I bought a surround sound system there during the Boxing week sale in Dec 2011, and eventually ... I mean like a month ago ... came to the realization that the Polk Audio subwoofer in my system did not and apparently has never worked... which explains why the zombies' guttural moans during The Walking Dead always sound more like the moans of tax accountants with indigestion. Anyway, I know it's my fault. I should have figured this out waay sooner, but since when do you have to worry about a speaker not working? And since when should a speaker not work after a year and a half? Anyway I naively decided to take the speaker back to The Brick and see if they could do something for me. What a joke, if you want to avoid sales pressure at the Brick, show up with returned merchandise. I felt like a pariah and I think you'd get a better reaction showing up with a case of leprosy with the word "unclean!" written on your forehead. Anyway they weren't interested, couldn't help me, and I got the distinct impression I was annoying them. I know it's silly, I know it was too long to wait to complain. But I guess I was hoping they'd try to do something - even a token gesture to help me out. I guess what I was really protesting was the obvious poor quality of the product, and I thought they might want to know. As if. I left the speaker there, they told me I couldn't do that, but I figured they could as well keep the $350 worth of junk. They also told me I had to give them the power cord as well, I told them that was the only part of my fully paid purchase that worked. Anyway once bitten ... In the past I have purchased a couple of mattresses, a washer and dryer, a couch and more from the Brick, so I was thinking I might be a preferred customer, but I'll think long and hard before I buy from there again - especially anything electronic ... I can't give 0 star. This place is a scam. They will quote you one price and try to charge you another. Thankfully, I had my phone and quickly calculated my own total, which was almost $250 less than what the sales associate came up with. When I showed him my own calculation (based on the discount he quoted) he refused to honour his own quote. I'm pretty sure this was because I declined warranty, which they aggressively try to sell. Buyer beware! Once you refuse warranty, multiple times, they seem less interested in helping you. When confronting the sales associate about the increase in his price, he became defensive and condescending, as if I didn't know how to add. Btw, I had all his quotes written down on paper. I also noticed that a dining set, which was priced at $499 a couple days ago, was now priced at 629, with a sale sign! After buying top of the line LG Washer/ Dryer and Kitchenaid dishwasher... wanted to exchange the washer and dryer for Samsung units which I had in the past. The answer from the manager 'No sorry - Sell it on Kiji' No explanation... just a curt 'too bad so sad attitude'. I had informed him that we had were loyal customers having placed a full house order (furniture and appliances) with the south store. Obviously a committed customer... he couldn't care less. And he's the manager??? IN today's world were social proof and customer service are everything... I am surprised by: 1. His non-caring attitude 2. His non-explanation 3. The Brick's non- accommodating customer service policy. I phoned the Deerfoot Meadows dtore, the Manager there, Kevin was completely opposite. Caring, compassionate and customer service driven. No he couldn't do anything because of The Brick's non- service oriented and short-sighted policy. Buy at Deerfoot. I guess they don't care to ensure they have happy satisfied customers??? I was even willing to pay the difference and associated fees?? I have shopped a few times at The Brick, and it has been a pretty good experience. The Beacon Hill location has been the best so far. We shopped here a few weeks ago to purchase a new mattress (Beautyrest), and a sectional for our basement. We asked for delivery to occur on our moving day, but they thought it would be best to do the delivery the next day. We got a call with a timeframe the night before the delivery, and they arrived about five minutes early. My husband did the negotiating with the salesperson, and feels we got great value for the quality of the product we ordered! read more

I purchased a bed frame and mattress from the brick around boxing day, we had no issues with the mattress and our sales rep was very nice and informative. However, when we received the bed frame we noticed a tear on it that looked like it was hand stitched, we thought maybe our pillows would cover it up if it was low enough and we wouldn't notice.. unfortunately we could still see it. I decided to contact the brick and they provided an email where I could send our photos to and said they would see what they could do about it. I sent the email 2 or 3 times with no response at all. Finally we decided to call back, the lady was extremely rude to my partner on the phone, and provided us with another email to send the photos to. We sent them, the brick called us back saying the best they could do was $40.00 and then responded to the email saying "This is done" I called backed to speak to a manager and got disconnected, I also sent two emails with no response... This was our first purchase from the brick, I NEVER write complaints, but I am extremely disappointed in their customer service. We spent close to $2000.00 and this is how we were treated. Bought an 86" LG TV for $3600 along with around $6500 worth of furniture from The Beacon Hill location of the Brick. It sat in its box for a week while I built furniture in my new condo. When I got around to opening it the entire screen was cracked. The Brick told me to contact LG regarding the damage. LG stated that it is the Bricks responsibility to replace the unit. I brought the TV back to Calgary, from my home in Banff. In person the Brick told me they were not willing to make things right by either replacing the unit or refunding my payment. So now I am out $3600 through no fault of my own. I would steer clear of all Brick locations. Ashley home furnishings has a far better selection at better prices and get your electronics at Best Buy or Costco as these places have ethics when it comes to business and consumer rights. read more

Unable to deliver... We went to The Brick to buy a new couch for our living room. As usual, sales people are ready at the front door waiting to pounce (Janna's dangly worm description is right-on). We got lucky and got a wonderful and incredibly helpful sales lady named Theresa, who seemed genuinely interested in helping us get the right piece for our house at a price we could work with. Unfortunately, the good experience ended with Theresa. The first couch they delivered had a very serious and obvious crack in the leg. The second one had obviously been repaired (and still didn't look great), but they wanted to deliver it in exchange for the full price paid (no discount for damage) The Brick has now attempted to deliver 2 broken couches to our house, but the worst part? No one seems to care! The person on the phone who arranges the deliveries acted like this was an everyday occurrence and nothing to be concerned about since they "have this problem a lot with furniture that has wood on it." Clearly they have a quality control issue that they are not concerned about. She also did not seem happy that we wanted an undamaged couch delivered as soon as possible (is that an unreasonable request?). We tried to go see Theresa today, as we were sure she could help (she specifically said to let her know if there were any issues). She wasn't working today, but you would think any sales person could help us? Wrong. We explained our problem to the woman who wanted to get a sale from us and, after looking at us blankly for a moment, said "well sorry but that's not our problem" (!!!!). She continued to stare at us and we asked who we should be talking to, she snarkily replied that we should speak to customer service of course. When we asked her where it was or who to contact, we received a large sigh and she reluctantly pointed in the direction we should be walking. The person at customer service was able to put a note in the delivery sheet, we requested that the couch be inspected before it was loaded on the truck. She asked what they should do if it was broken, "just not deliver it?" My patience is wearing thin. Our response was that they needed to find a couch that was undamaged before they put it on the truck, or no, don't deliver it. We also asked that, if this was the case, they come remove the broken couch that they left us (they did at least leave us with something so we didn't have to sit on kitchen chairs), and give us a full refund. We have thus far received no actual apology or sign of dismay for the inconvenience for trouble (other than the snarky sales woman whose apology was more of a teenage "well, sorry!" (she was at least in her 50s). The Brick has one last chance to give us a full couch that we paid for (I will update if they do). With the exception of Theresa, the customer service has been appalling all the way around. read more

What a nightmare it has been dealing with the brick at this location. Ordered a sectional in January. $3900 spent, noticed a pull in seat cushion fabric within the allotted time frame they give you to notice defects First 24hrs. Called complained then was ghosted forever, finally they said they would send someone to look at it. A new fabric was ordered finally six months later Andes Refurbishing came to replace (they did a fabulous job of repairing ). They had to replace the whole 3 seats because it was one unit all cushions attached to sofa so they basically had to disassemble the furniture. It took them 2 hrs to fix again I would recommend Andes Refurbishing just not The Brick. The end to my review is that I had sprayed my couch with the bricks fabric protector but now since I have 3 newly covered seats I need to purchase a new $20 spray from the brick. $20 isn't much it's the principle of them giving it to me for free is why I'm upset. I stay home from work for them to repair it and when I called to ask for a free $20 spray so I can respray for protection I'm actually told I have to buy it. All I can say is this location sucks and go somewhere else. read more

The delivery service was poor with one of the guys misplacing my tools cos they don't come with theirs. he promised to return it. never heard from him. The Dryer that was installed was installed improperly. Can't use it and I have been trying to get them to fix it. no chance. I was told my bed would be delivered in a week. this is 2months on and counting. What a scam. and I am told I can not return it cos they have shipped some items already. I am out of town at the moment but will be coming back guns blazing. Shah is a dishonest person and so is the whole set-up. I will NEVER shop at the Brick again!!! read more

Quick read.....trust me and do not ever go here..... learn from my mistakes To whom it may concern, I have had the worst experience imaginable at your Beacon Hill location in Calgary. Your manager is completely unhelpful and unresponsive. I have tried contacting the company numerous times just to be ignored. In my opinion you have stolen $700 from me and for that I can promise you I will never spend another penny at your company for the rest of my life. I ordered a bed on March 3 rd with a delivery promise of March 17 th . The day before the delivery I threw out my old bed to make room for the new one. 9 pm the night before I get a call saying that it wouldn't be coming, no further information. Tried to look at online tracking, not in the system. Try calling, no one picks up. Used the email contact function on your site, no one responds. Try a second time and finally someone responds with a measly sorry. Sorry doesn't mean a whole lot to me after sleeping on the floor for two weeks. I asked to cancel my order so I could go elsewhere so as to not continue sleeping on the floor. Your manager provided no solutions and just said sorry keep waiting. TWO AND A HALF MONTHS later the bed is finally there. Ships out to us with missing and broken pieces. Once again, call for a solution so the manager sent out a couple of guys who then informed us that there was nothing they could do and they would have to order new parts. GREAT so 3 more months until I get my bed? This is absolutely ridiculous and a complete waste of my time AND I am still sleeping on the floor. Your managers response to this was oh its ok just spend MORE money $94.99 and we will install it for you. After explaining that I have waited long enough, spent enough money and wasted enough of my own time he offered to install it for free. So, he sends a couple kids to take the broken pieces and give us new ones to be installed later that week. They show up and tell us they won't do anything because the bed is partially assembled. Well no one told us we would have to waste more of our lives undoing all the work he had already done. So 4 days we have now wasted waiting around for someone to show up to just leave with no solution. Once again we call and they say that they will send a brand new bed and to just take apart the old one and they will swap it. IT ACTUALLY HAPPENS THIS TIME! Fast forward another 3 weeks to when someone can actually install it and guess what! The bed is broken, AGAIN. Are you actually kidding me? It has now been FOUR months that we have wasted our time money and patience and STILL DON'T HAVE A BED THAT WE SPENT $700 ON, WHILE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR. I am infuriated, and something needs to be done about your manager at that location and your store in general. Absolutely ridiculous. I think most people like to complain for the reason of complaing. Life gets difficult, but for those who complain about the little things, I think it is kind of horrid. I mean death is something to complain about; hey my wife died in a car accident by a drunk driver.. Furniture being late? It's a joke. I paid over 9grand worth of stuff from here and many things previously and I have had a few things run late or were not perfect, but life isn't perfect. Buying a car isn't perfect. Buying a house is far from perfect. The complaints really take away all the good comments that can be posted, because complainers always want to be heard whining their life away. They were very nice at first ( wanted us to buy stuff) then sent two defective couches and charged us a extra 20$ for the care kit on the second one because we used the first one on the defective couch to protect our warranty ( pretty sure we were sent the wrong mattress aswell we were told they did then they retracted what they told us). gave us the run around for well over a month bouncing us from manager to manager. We were told things to make us happy like dont worry about the extra cost on the new bed (about 235$ which i figured was nice for all the hassle we had been through ) only to get a call back 30 min later from a diffrent person saying we had to pay the extra then when i spoke to the one Manager he said he never said he wpuld take care of it? All they want is to lie to you to get your money! Stay far far away from this place ! Read the reviews you will understand what ones are real and what ones were probably made from friends or family. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!!! By far the worst place you can ever shop at, I went to this brick at the beginning of January 2020 and put 650$ down payment for a tv and told them I will come back and pay the rest to get my tv, 7 months later I come back to add more money and add one more tv to my shopping list but I was told by the manager PUNEET that I didn't put money down at all and was accused of Lying and kicked out of the store humiliated in front of all other customers I left and contacted the sales person that took my money and he told me to come back the money is still there to which I went back to the store and they told me they will send me a cheque for 650 dollars I contacted the store make a complaint and the manager contacted the Calgary police on me to come to my reading and Harass me just because I wanted to get the money that rightfully belonged to me I was mind blown how poor the customer service and how they handled this, I have shopped at the brick for the past 12 years and so has my family and I never ever ever shop there again, what if the employee quit or left the job so my money was basically all gone?? My mom initially contacted The Brick after being unable to assemble the delivered furniture due to misalignment of parts. After giving The Brick a phone inquiry, she was told to bring the chairs back to the warehouse to see if they can fix them. Three days later, she gotten a response that they were unable to fix so they were looking into ordering new furniture which they couldn't. My mom had other plans that day she told Brick to call me to deal with the issue on her behalf, the call that I never ended up receiving. As I grew more impatient at the lack of response, I went to the store again to see sale consultant Jessica who sold the furniture in the first place, and she apparently had told my mom that the model of my furniture was discontinued and that I would need to order floor models from a different store. She offered me to speak to her manager and after talking with the manager, he said he would personally deliver to goods to my house and didn't. I called the Brick next day to inquire about missed delivery, I was told the manager left the note saying he already picked up my furniture from the store but couldn't deliver to me because of a family emergency. He said he would deliver it next day for sure and didn't. I called again and the customer service had no clue as to what I was talking about. While I understand that sometimes deliveries do get delays multiple times due to emergency but I find it extremely disrespectful to make a promise of a guaranteed delivery and never follow through it. What surprised me even more was the absolute oblivious response by the customer service. It seems to me that nobody was taking ownership of my issue and was kept being put off to others. All in all, I'm extremely disappointed at the way Brick handled its customer service and will definitely look elsewhere for all my furniture supplies going forward. read more

We ordered a sectional on line and selected to pick it up at the Beacon Hill location. My credit card was immediately charged and I waited for a confirmation email from the Brick... it never came. I needed to delay the pick up of the item for a few days so called the store. I was put in hold for 6+ minutes and finally hung up and called back. In speaking to a sales person, I was able to have them email me a copy of my order with the order number on it. When I asked for the pick up date to be changed, I spent another long period in hold. The sales person came back and told me that the sectional I ordered could not be picked up at their location because they don't have room to receive it and we will ha e to pick it up at the distribution centre. I had to keep prodding her along to get information as to when I could pick it up, would I get confirmation and was eventually told, even though I've paid for it and it's in stock, they may sell our furniture and we may h e to wait. This whole process is unsettling g and not customer centric in the least. The basics of a confirmation email and actual ability to collect items from the location selected in line is price of entry. Everything fell apart after they took our money. Will be interesting to see if there is actual furniture when we are scheduled to pick up. #gongshow read more
