What a wonderful unexpected gem we came across!! The place is super cute, service is great, and…read morefood was really good. I had a cold brew and hubby had the copper tea. He had a turkey club and I had a turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain. For sides we had cucumber salad, potato salad, and mac & cheese. A word of surprise, the potato salad is served warm, but it was really tasty. The only disappointment was the mac & cheese, which was grainy and soup-like with very overcooked noodles in it. They had no discernible shape and almost seemed like egg noodles oddly enough. We enjoyed our drinks, sandwiches and salads very much.

Such a cute, cozy place. It was like stepping into a warm cafe in another land…read more I started with a seasonal latte that had hints of toasted marshmallows, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Followed by a Monte Cristo. The bread was so light and fluffy. The saltiness of the meat with the sweetness of the bread and sugar with a little spread of raspberry preserves delighted the tastebuds. The side of fruit was large and seasonally appropriate. You order at the counter, where I think the owner was taking the orders and the accent definitely sounded authentic German like the name of the restaurant. She was lovely. Everything is made fresh so sit back and relax and the dining area is designed perfect for that with couches, cozy chairs and comfortable seats at the tables. I looked up what the name means: "Drachenfutter" is also a term used to describe gifts or treats that someone might bring home for their significant other when they feel guilty about coming home late or drunk. True to the "gift" part of the name, you can take yummy homemade treats home with you and they do have a section of gifts you can buy. A nice gem of a place along Historic Route 66.

Kind people. Great Food!…read more This store is a total gem in Rolla, especially if you love to cook really good food, but also if you want some ready to eat food, candies and snacks. I didn't know some of the food on the grocery shelves, but had a lot of help from such a friendly person who worked there picking out the best stuff, and even gave me tips on how to use it. I'm really excited about the jar of honey and nuts that I bought for a gift! I have a lot of allergies and I was able to find some hard to find things that I can have like gee and date syrup so that my diet can still be enjoyable. They also have some midwestern staples like canned sardines and tuna. The fresh meat looks like something to make to impress guests and have a happy and full crowd. Yes, I love everyone in my life through food and am known for the best dinner parties. The rice selection is insane. If you have not had good rice your probably missing out on your best life. They sell huge bags so you can get really special rice without paying a lot for what you are getting. P.S. They have Turkish coffee too!!!

I finally had a chance to try Purest Coffee yesterday, specifically for the kebabs. I ignorantly…read morethought the kebabs would be chunks of meat on a skewer. What do I know! They were made with ground beef or chicken and had amazing spices. Both flavors of were delicious. I took my food to go. The service was very welcoming and nice. I'm planning to return and try something else soon.

My husband and I attempted to come here after our vacation home host told us about this coffee shop…read moreand raved about the owner here, telling us she would make us feel welcome. This was further from the experience I expected. To be honest, this shop was more shop than and ideal coffee shop, but more like a pick-up knick-knacks and a cup of coffee and go. When we walked in, the bathroom area was blocked by a worker who was gathering holiday decor or something. Anyhow, I asked about the bathroom because I desperately needed to go, and planned on staying and buying some coffee, but the girl told me that I had to ask for a key. No biggie since I've been to coffee shops that require a bathroom key. So, as I went to the counter the proprietor was busy chatting away with customers and when she stopped chatting, noticing I had something that I needed to ask, she said, "Can I help you?" and I asked, "Can I please have the bathroom key?" and she said, "You will get it after you've made a purchase." I was put off, particularly as she continued her idle and pointless church talk with these people. We left and found a real coffee shop elsewhere.

I ordered an iced tiramisu latte and a friend ordered the french toast latte. Service was fast despite a line down to the door, and the drinks were yummy! I also ordered the carrot cake which my entire party decided might be the best we've ever had. Would recommend!
