Wish we hadn't! $10 for a tiny piece of pie. We also ordered strawberries on the cheesecake and they did not put them on. Not a great experience!

Every month or so I get this craving for their Oreo pie. It's so good! But here at this location (Waynesville) they don't give you the proper amount of portion for it being almost $9! I bought a WHOLE slice pie and it was so small! There's a whole and a half slice. If this was a whole I'm wondering what would be the half slice. A whole slice is $1 more than the half. I know there's inflation but this is just ridiculous! The Rolla one gives you the proper amount for the price. So I suggest skipping this and if you're in the Rolla area to go there. Plus, they have a full dinning area and they serve food as well :) To the slice of pie here in Waynesville, maybe train your employees better or have a pie size chart. Because it's always a different slice size every time I come one but this time was the smallest I got for it being a WHOLE! Anyways hope you don't lose business by scamming people ‍ *Covered up the name just in case it was the person that served me and I don't want their name out there.

He had a turkey club and I had a turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain. For sides we had cucumber salad, potato salad, and mac & cheese. A word of surprise, the potato salad is served warm, but it was really tasty. The only disappointment was the mac & cheese, which was grainy and soup-like with very overcooked noodles in it. They had no discernible shape and almost seemed like egg noodles oddly enough. We enjoyed our drinks, sandwiches and salads very much.

Followed by a Monte Cristo. The bread was so light and fluffy. The saltiness of the meat with the sweetness of the bread and sugar with a little spread of raspberry preserves delighted the tastebuds. The side of fruit was large and seasonally appropriate. You order at the counter, where I think the owner was taking the orders and the accent definitely sounded authentic German like the name of the restaurant. She was lovely. Everything is made fresh so sit back and relax and the dining area is designed perfect for that with couches, cozy chairs and comfortable seats at the tables. I looked up what the name means: "Drachenfutter" is also a term used to describe gifts or treats that someone might bring home for their significant other when they feel guilty about coming home late or drunk. True to the "gift" part of the name, you can take yummy homemade treats home with you and they do have a section of gifts you can buy. A nice gem of a place along Historic Route 66.

Delicious brownies; good coffee; great service…read more My husband and I needed a break and some coffee while driving on Highway 63 in central Missouri. We were looking for a different bakery that apparently went out of business. We just happened to walk past this shop. We asked a woman sitting outside where we could get coffee, and she pointed inside the door of this shop. We asked some people working inside if they had coffee. Marcie immediately said she would make a fresh pot, and asked us to sit down. We sat down at one of the small tables. I looked in the bakery case, and saw some delicious-looking brownies. I told Marcie we would like two brownies. Marcie said that those brownies were a couple days old, but she had a new batch that was fresh out of the oven, and would we like a couple of those. We said yes. She gave us a choice of nuts or no nuts, and inside or edge brownies. We went for inside, with nuts. The brownies were warm, chewy and delicious. We spent the next 30-45 minutes talking with Marcie. She had recently returned to the Houston after living in San Francisco a few years. Marcie told us about starting the bakery within this storefront, which also offered crafts and essential oils made within a 30 mile radius. She told us about making cupcakes for a community event, someone's wedding cake, and other offerings. A local come in for coffee and some more fudge. We talked with him too. When we left Marcie gave us some free coconut caramel bars. Three things really impressed me about this shop. One is that instead of offering us older brownies and coffee, she offered us the freshest and very best. Second, the brownies were scrumptious and the coffee was very good. She plans to later offer a full service coffee bar. Third, we had a great time talking with Marcie and learning about life in Houston. What a welcome break from hours of highway driving., The bakery shop is not large, nor the selection huge, but our visit there was memorable. We will definitely return if we pass through Houston again.
