This was my second time coming here. Both times, the guy at the front, Kevin Gilbert (I hope I…read morespelled your name correct), was very polite and friendly. I asked if the pastries on offer are their typical inventory, and Kevin said they were and that they don't really change it. That's not a complaint as they 1) have a good variety of things on offer and 2) that means they can get really good at the pastries they make. I did ask if they ever sell pies by the slice since I saw they sell cheesecake slices, but they only ever sell whole pies. Again, that's not an issue. The first time I came in, I got one of their filled donuts (the one that's topped with pecans or walnuts and is filled with like a vanilla frosting), which was really good. This time, Kevin let me try their tea cookies (or thumbprint cookies), which I was told is one of their most popular items. It is a good cookie (I think it was a pecan sandie with a sugar frosting), but I ended up getting 3 mini Danishes (1 cherry, 1 apple, and 1 cheese). The Danishes were much better than store bought ones, and if I were to rank them from least to most favorite, it'd be apple, then cheese, and then cherry (though all were really good). In short, the owner, Michael Gilbert, has a great bake shop in Cleveland, TN.

I'm not sure if this is the exact location that helped me out, but the company is Flowers Food, and…read morethey are amazing. I found some bread at Walmart that I LOVED (Cobblestone Bread Co.) and was wondering if other stores in the area sold it (I like to avoid Walmart crowds when I can), so I googled them and it brought me to the Flower Foods website. I sent them an email a few weeks ago and a gentleman called me a couple times, leaving messages to call him about their products. I'm terrible about returning phone calls, and never got around to it. Well, about 15 minutes ago there was a knock on my door. A gentleman (I'm assuming it was the same man from the phone) in a Flowers Foods jacket stood there holding 3 bags of various baked goods, and told me that they hadn't been able to reach me, but that he thought he'd stop by with a few of their most popular sandwich breads. I was completely floored. I've never heard of this kind of customer care!! I thanked him profusely and he told me that building a relationship with customers is important to them, and I told him he has a customer for life! I was so flustered that I didn't catch his name or the location of his office or if he was from the local bakery. Kicking myself for that now. Their bread is AMAZING (trust me, I know bread). Do yourself a favor and try the Cobblestone brand -- they're at Walmart, Publix, and other grocery chains throughout the south, up through the northeast and even out west. Giant, perfect-sized hamburger buns, gorgeous kaiser rolls, delicious hoagie bread that's not too big and not too small. And on top of that, they totally value their customers. I am a huge fan. Try them -- you won't be disappointed!
