They are one of the only shops in Folkestone to sell some items such as Sailor Jerry rum. They also have a good selection of international largers that include many Polish and Czech bands. They have a good selection of real ales, including many from the local area. I would much rather spend my money in this shop than in the local supermarkets as they are very fairly priced and offer fantastic customer service.

I can't speak for all the Jeroboams shops - I've only ever been to this one, and even then, just once - but I was rather surprised to find that not only did this branch have a fine selection of wines, they also had a great selection of spirits, including a certain Japanese whisky which led me to this shop. Despite the seemingly posh sounding name, and its location in west London, I found prices in this shop more than fair, even for the hard-to-find whisky. Tom, the person manning the shop the day I visited, certainly knows his stuff. He's not just enthusiastic about wine, but also spirits and where you can enjoy them, which is why you can find craft gins, quality tonic water and other kinds of alcohol in addition to what Jeroboams is known for - wine. He's also the guy behind their Twitter feed, which, if you're a fan of good alcohol and happen to live nearby (or even if you don't, I'd encourage you to follow so that you know what special offers and tastings are on, or, in my case, when certain vintages have arrived! I hadn't stopped in here, because it doesn't seem that approachable - it certainly projects itself to be a higher end wine shop. That turns out to be true, it is a little more high end feeling - though ultimately the employees were super approachable and very helpful. I think it is a little on the snooty side, but if you are prepared for that - then this is a good shop. Despite the higher end feel, it does appear as though they educate the public that comes in, there are maps of wine regions, the grapes grown in those regions, and advertisements for wine tastings. This is the place that you go in to find a bottle of special wine, something specific or to learn a bit more. It's definitely not a warehouse, and doesn't pretend to be. That said, the prices didn't seem outrageous, just slightly higher than other stores - but given the types of wine and the service, it's worth it.

They have so many different types and price ranges, a good supply of spirits and wide range of beers and soft drinks. The staff are all very knowledgeable and attentive. They have a good reputation for being reputable booze sellers and you dont get the problem of kids hanging around trying to buy when they cant. They also dont cater for the cheap end of the market but have great 3 for 2 offers on Champagnes and Wines and specials which make it great value for money. Their annual Xmas wine tasting at the town hall is also a fabulous community exercise and great fun!
