Future brides... be weary when considering this venue! Although it's beautiful, we had concerns…read morefrom the beginning when we initially started exploring this venue as an option. After booking the venue tour over a week out, we received nothing from the venue (pricing packet, etc.) until we were on the way there. Once we arrived, no one was there to greet us and we had to walk around the venue searching for someone to host the tour, which other reviews have mentioned. After the conclusion of the tour, I was told the date I was interested in was available. Two days later, I contacted the venue and expressed my intention to pursue booking the date. After not hearing back for quite a few days, I called twice and was finally able to get in touch with the event director, who again verbally confirmed my date was available. After getting excited about having a date and moving forward, I received an email that there was a miscommunication and the date was indeed booked by someone else. I understand mistakes happen, but it should not have been confirmed without further review. On their behalf, they did offer a discount on an additional date. After we finally received the contract for our new date, we felt the need to add addendums to include facility maintenance due to the fact that lightbulbs were out over the ceremony space when we toured (with a wedding taking place in three days). Once we presented the addendums, the entire tone of the event director changed. They became very defensive, rude, and condescending. We toured plenty of venues that would be willing to bend over backwards to make your wedding day the best it can be. Seemed to be the total opposite here. It felt as though we were viewed as just another number and they wanted to be very hands off. In my opinion, be advised that you may struggle with communication, lack of professionalism and disorganization.

I just had my wedding here this past Saturday. First of all-- what a beautiful, quaint place. The…read moreupstairs of the home has been redone and renovated to be very feminine-- fresh white walls, individual vanities to get ready at, and plenty of space for day. The ballroom--- with no decor is absolutely stunning. High ceilings, large chandeliers, the walls lined with large windows and of course the black and white checkered flooring. Once we added in decor it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. If you're getting married here add greenery to the chandeliers for a big WOW factor. The cocktail area outside it's lined with market lights and has fire pits-- the perfect place to entertain guests once you add one of the venues bars. And finally the ceremony space is covered-- which was perfect because it started to lightly rain at the beginning of our ceremony. It also has the market lights, the red brick steps, and a large beautiful white porch. There are lots of restrooms around the venue which was perfect for hosting a lot of people-- I've been to weddings where there were lines for the bathroom and no one likes that. The grooms quarters are perfect if you're a guy that loves poker, drinking, playing games, and relaxing. The grounds are kept very sharp and there are so many places to take pictures. Now-- Amy Plyler is the venue event planner and also who we chose to be our wedding planner--- you have the option to choose an external coordinator but you would be silly to because there are so many perks to hiring Amy and her assistant Jannah. They are an amazing team and made sure everything ran perfectly the day of. I had the most beautiful wedding and I did not stress at all day of because I put my trust in them. When it rained-- they quickly pivoted. They remembered all of my small details and arranged all of our decor perfectly. Even things I thought I'd forget or didn't think about they were there to help. They also have a lot of things you can use at the venue which saves you from spending extra money. They are simply the best and I am honestly sad I don't have reason to talk to them on a regular basis now but I will certainly keep in touch. Have your wedding here. Have the historical home, timeless wedding of your dreams at the Grande Victorian. Hire Amy and Jannah.

DO NOT HIRE! Would give 0 stars if I could!!…read more We were married on September 20th and hired Jason for our wedding DJ, photography, and videography services. We paid our balance in full prior to the wedding, as requested. Unfortunately, the experience after the wedding has been extremely stressful and disappointing. Jason spoke a lot about his quick turnaround time before we booked, which was one of the reasons we chose him. However, that has not been our experience. In addition, we never saw the assistant that was included in our package, and the day-of coordinator did not ensure our requested photo list was shared with the photographer, which led to some frustrations on the wedding day as well. We are now six months after our wedding date and still do not have our uncut and edited wedding video, and several items took repeated follow-ups just to receive. Communication has been very inconsistent, and many of the timelines we were given for receiving our photos and video have not been met. Over the past several months we have tried to remain patient and understanding, but it has been very difficult not knowing when we will actually receive the rest of what we paid for. These are once-in-a-lifetime memories that couples trust their photographer and videographer to capture and deliver. At this point, we are simply hoping to receive the remaining deliverables in full and in the quality that was promised. I would strongly encourage couples considering booking to make sure clear delivery timelines and expectations are included in writing before signing a contract or better yet book with someone else. ETA: Just discovered that he played the wrong song for my girls to walk down the aisle to. I talked to him 2 days before the wedding to go over everything and put it in the app like he asked well ahead of time. The morning of our wedding he text me asking about what songs I wanted played for our entrances. He had the correct songs, wrong order so I told him the correct order. I shouldn't be having that type of conversation the morning of. He still managed to skip the song all together and played the same song for my husband and girls to walk down to. ETA: May 2026 - ended up having to take to small claims court. We won the case, but will probably never get our money from him unfortunately. Have been able to hire the videographer to edit the video for us, for a price of course, since Jason didn't pay him their agreed upon price.

Please be aware and don't fall for this scam…read more During our initial conversation, he sounded incredibly energetic and made it seem like he would go above and beyond to make my sister's wedding unforgettable. Unfortunately, he did make it unforgettable--but for all the wrong reasons. I hired him for both photography and videography as a wedding gift for my sister. He charged a premium price, but the way he spoke and the excitement in his voice made me believe he genuinely cared about his work and would deliver an amazing experience. The first red flag was that he didn't even show up to the wedding himself. Instead, he sent two other people to cover the event. I was willing to overlook that because I assumed the final product would be worth it. After the wedding, he gave me multiple delivery timelines for the photos, edited photos, and the highlight video. Every deadline came and went with excuse after excuse. Now, six months later, he has completely stopped responding and still hasn't delivered anything. I truly wish I had read his Yelp reviews before hiring him. After everything happened, I discovered that many other customers had the exact same experience--promises, excuses, months of delays, and then being completely ignored. Unfortunately, I trusted the reviews on Thumbtack and didn't do enough research before hiring him. Learn from my mistake and think twice before trusting this business.
