I've shopped at their country store a few times for good, hard-to-find items & gifts- their goat milk soap is award-winning. Went to the 2024 fall festival to play & pick pumpkins. (Writing this ahead of our upcoming festival visit and hoping for the same unique tasty apple cider slushy.) Anyway, I don't remember doing much pumpkin-picking but what stood out was the vibe-- starting with a sweet hayride in from the parking lot, through a forest, & out to a larger festival zone. Most workers were happy to be there (& it shows). We felt welcome- even tho we were there at the last event wknd & towards the very end of a hot day. Ambiance: I like that we were allowed to look and linger, shoot hoops, all kinds of stuff. Just mellow fun. (I shot hoops 'against' a little kid there with her granny- won't tell you who won.) There are several places to take selfies and pictures, & just celebrate Fall. We don't have small kids (pumpkin picking here was more for them I feel) but we had a blast enjoying all that was available with basic admission. To sum up: Played games, shopped, & visited with animals- including attempted feeding of friendly baby turkeys- which was a little tough-- long story. Loved meeting the little pony named 'Flapjack'? (Note: it wasn't roller coaster rides or turbo-charged pumpkin cannons- but that's not what we expected or wanted.) I liked that we could see other couples & many families making memories (& likely traditions) together. Looking forward to my visit on Saturday- I'll update with more pics. (And a pic of that slushy!) Highly recommend.

Haviland Events - Kyle and I having a great time thanks to Kelley. There she is watching over everything as she stands in the right side of the doorway.

The best part about working with Haviland Events was that Kelley knew all the answers to every…read morequestion I asked. She took charge of planning, made sure we were on track, and managed vendors leading up to the wedding. She is also very down-to-earth, so you feel like you can really be yourself around her. My husband and I felt 100% taken care of from the moment we met Kelley. Kelley was so organized! She had a Google Doc for everything and always knew exactly where to find the information you're looking for. I still have a copy of all of these, so I can help answer questions from my friends when they're planning small details of their wedding. One month before the wedding, Kelley took over all communication with vendors. This was a huge help. She fielded questions that I didn't know the answers to and made sure the photographer, venue, etc. all had the correct information. Her taking that communications piece off our plate made it easier and less stressful when we had to complete last-minute tasks before the wedding. Additionally, throughout the whole process, Kelley was so open and friendly. She encouraged us to ask questions and share any concerns with her. That warm, openness helped us really get everything out on the table. She combatted our problems and assuaged our fears along the planning process. Kelley made sure we didn't feel nervous or stress at any point of the decision-making process. On the day of the wedding, Kelley stopped by our house where the girls were getting ready on the wedding day to make sure everything was going smoothly. She went over the timeline with us, where I saw the photographer and florist were arriving at the same time. Kelley saw that directing both of them on my own - even though they were both very kind and professional - made me stressed out. She switched her plans around and had her assistant do what Kelley originally had planned on doing at that time so she could be with me. She's able to work on the fly and rearrange things to ensure easy transitions and low stress levels. Kelley was able to direct the photographer, makeup artists, and hairstylists and kindly direct them to work in a way that Kelley knew would fit my and Kyle's styles. She was a calm in the storm of our wedding day, I'll never forget how relieved I felt when she said she'd stay to orchestrate a little bit longer. Also, a bonus thing she did for us was help me stay cool at the reception. I got really hot while everyone was dancing, and Kelley knew exactly what to do. She suggested that we cut out one of the layers of my dress to make it cooler. I immediately said, "YES PLEASE!" She grabbed some scissors and altered my dress on the spot. The minute she removed that layer, I felt significantly cooler. It did not change how the dress looked, and it helped me enjoy the reception so much more because I wasn't overheating and could dance the night away. Over and over again, when people ask me and my husband for advice when they plan their wedding, the NUMBER ONE thing we both say is to get a wedding planner. Of course, each venue and place you deal with has a contact person who is in charge of everything, but it is so nice to have someone who can coordinate all of them. Knowing that we could turn to Kelley to ask her anything at any time or ask people to contact her when you weren't sure about something gave Kyle and me a sense of peace and comfort during a wild time. If you have the opportunity and ability to work with Kelley, jump on it. You will have significantly less stressful time planning and carrying out a wedding, and you will have someone you can forever turn to for advice.

On the day of the wedding, I was genuinely relaxed. They handled so much behind the scenes and made it all look effortless. I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Allie and Savannah! They went above and beyond and were such a big part of making the day run perfectly. Rob and I appreciate you guys so much. Truly, the entire team was incredible. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and everything went off without a hitch. The food was amazing (we did the plated meal), the drinks were strong, and the Photo Booth was a huge hit! Most importantly, we had such a fun, unforgettable time. Everyone has been telling us how perfect everything looked and how much fun they had (and we can be a rowdy crew, haha). We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. Highly recommend!

From the very first planning meeting to the last dance of the night, we felt genuinely cared for. As two busy working professionals, the structure and support from Wedgewood Weddings & Events made our planning process feel manageable and bite-sized instead of overwhelming. Every step was organized, clear, and thoughtful. It allowed us to actually enjoy being engaged instead of drowning in spreadsheets. Sarah, Virginia, and Savannah were phenomenal. Truly. They anticipated needs before we even voiced them, answered every question with patience, and made us feel like our wedding was the only one that mattered. On the day of, Savannah in particular took such intentional care of both me and Kevin. She checked in constantly, kept things flowing seamlessly, and made sure we were present instead of stressed. As chefs and hotel people, service is everything to us. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The team followed our directions perfectly, respected our vision, and executed it beautifully. A moment that meant the world to us was watching the service staff go above and beyond to help my autistic nephew find something "safe" to eat during dinner. That kindness and awareness is not something you can train into people. It's heart. We also loved the intentional use of small businesses throughout the process. You can feel that Alexander Homestead values community and craftsmanship, and that matters. Our day felt seamless, warm, and deeply cared for from start to finish. We walked away not just married, but genuinely grateful. If you're considering this venue, stop looking. You've found it.
