Some might say it was bold, but I was anxious for change after three kids and sitting at a plateau in weight loss post-40, tired of 'diets' and running (which was killing my knees) to try and fit into my previous clothes. One year later and I have lost 15 pounds & 3 dress sizes (without excessive dieting), strengthened my core to a point where I have little to no back pain anymore, have improved my balance, and can even feel a noticeable difference in my pickleball game as I am stronger in my movements and form. I'm also on track to complete the Platinum Challenge for 2024! You know a studio is great when you're greeted by your first name and the instructors are happy to teach their classes. I love that they have a variety of classes at different times throughout the week. I loved my experience so much I had to tell all of my friends and have even shared a barre class with a good friend! I love the yoga classes offered for different levels. I was hesitant and doubtful about trying an advanced yoga class and spoke to the instructor. She assured me that her class is more advanced than the beginner's class, but that I can keep up at my own pace. Despite that, I thought the class and pace were great and felt a relieved when the instructor said she thought I had nothing to worry about. I attended classes about twice a day/5 times a week and was able to do a handstand against the wall in 4 weeks! The instructors are that awesome! It's the little things like that, that makes a fitness studio unique and stand out amongst others!

I registered for the class a few days before on their website and the website said that my registration was successful. But not only did the website give the wrong location so that I was late for the class, but when I got there the staff were very fake and the older blonde woman behind the counter told me that I was not registered and then further embarrassed me in front of the staff, my friend, and all the prefect princesses walking in asking me "do you have a camera on your phone, "sweetie"" when asking me to scan a QR code for the class in a VERY condescending tone and she didn't look me in the eye. Of course I have a camera on my brand new iPhone. Who even asks that??? Needless to say I decided right then that I would not be going back ever again. I was so upset and downtrodden and embarrassed I just told my friend that I was going to leave because I didn't want to be treated like a poor, dumb, undesirable and embarrassed and singled out even more. It was obvious that they thought I DIDN'T belong there as soon as I walked in. I don't want to be that girl but in this case I would, unfortunately, advise anyone who is NOT WHITE or dressed entirely in Lulu Lemon to stay away from this place if you don't want to be talked down to and shoved out the door. There are much better, more compassionate practices where they will definitely not make you feel like some underprivileged charity case who they are required to tolerate.

The community of instructors is so supportive and encouraging. I had never had a good relationship with exercise in my life but Barre3 changed that for me. They helped me to realize the importance of mind body connection and moving your body because it feels good rather than always exercise tied to a scale goal. Parking lot and the easiest entrance are both in the back of the building. They offer mostly hot yoga which was something I had been hesitant about in the past, but I really like the workout and the teachers I've had. They have a pretty regular schedule, so like Devin and Tailyn are some of my favorites, and you can really build a practice with a few teachers who know you if you go regularly. I also really like Rylie's barre classes. I went to BYB in Norman in 2019 and didn't super love the instructors and classes, but I really like the instructors here in OKC who are really lovely, caring, and motivating which makes all the difference with something as vulnerable as hot yoga, especially as someone who's never been really dedicated to her practice before. I will say that the studio isn't perfect, but they're all minor complaints. I know they just moved into it, but there's a slightly lifted plank in the floor that would be horrible to step on or have your mat on. Also, the heat lamps are really low, so it's killer if you end up underneath one (a great sweaty workout though if that's what you want). Finally, for the most part, the studio is private, but the door is clear glass, so I have seen people looking in a few times which is a little awkward. It's in a hallway, so people are passing by, and looking up to see someone looking at the class while you're doing downward facing dog isn't the best haha. I will say that I've never been in an overfull class in the two or three months I've been attending. I'm not sure what the cap is, but I've also always been able to book the classes I want, even 30 minutes before they start. I'm on the unlimited classes student deal for $100 a month, and it's a great motivation to put classes in my calendar and actually go. It's also helpful that it's not too far from my apartment, unlike a lot of the other exercise studios in the metro :) Thank you!

I attend the 8th street market location which offers a restroom but no water fountain. They offer changing rooms inside the studio. The staff is always friendly and they are experts at what they do.
