Decent equipment and they're not overly crowded…read more However, we canceled our membership in June and the process to try to cancel Your membership is insane. My mom passed away and I moved across the country. We sent in the certified letter and the information proving we moved and we have now been charged for July and August. Multiple phone calls with the club and their billing agency and the way we have been treated is shocking at Best. I run a fairly large company so this is now become where I will probably use this as training for my employees on how to never handle a customer. I don't think the customers always right, however when we sent in our documentation certified and they continue to charge me month after month and refuse to stop, and on top of that, give me unbelievable attitude on the phone, I now feel I need to speak up. Now maybe gyms are not competitive and they can be dicks to their paying customers but when this gym tried to justify charging me an extra 250.00 over a 50.00 cancelation fee when it was paid properly, I feel it's time to become a Karen. Buyer beware. Other gyms are available.

The rack was "back ordered" for 3 weeks we were told. There was zero follow-up, I had to drive to store to speak with Colton, who has made this transaction agonizing. Turns out the rack we paid for in a set was discontinued. They offered the floor model. Floor model was finally delivered, but once weights were placed on rack it looked like it would tip forward-a safety risk.  Colton promised to get back to us the next day. We waited again. More texts once again begging for information. Eventually, he offered another option we said fine. Despite our efforts to communicate, we still don't know where, when or if this new rack will show -up.  We are going on 3 months now, no apology, zero offer to make it right, tons of excuses, no follow-up. We decided to give one last try to get information this week.  Text ignored again.  We will be contacting our bank. The Incomplete set shouldn't be sold to begin with but once that happened the company should  make it right, at minimum respond to questions. We have all the documentation.  So much time and frustration for something that should have been easily rectified. RUN from PUSH PEDAL PULL.

I recently came to the realization that I'm not a college student who gets to keep eating like crap…read more(or like a Yelper) and not have it affect things like my waist, or how my clothes fit. It took a while for me to come to terms with it. Either I have to start eating healthily, or I have to exercise. Ideally both. And since I like food too much to survive on stupid things like salads, it looks like physical exercise is the only alternative. So here's me trying. Or at least pretending to try. Anyway, "INTEGRIS PACER Fitness Center" is no longer a thing. It is now known as the "YMCA Healthy Living Center - INTEGRIS." A mouthful, yes. So call it HLC instead. Because of its cardiology-rehab focus, HLC tends to have greater numbers of elderly people than the average gym. This can be a boon for some: (1) There are few if any meat-heads grunting and throwing weights. (2) Classes when available tend to have plenty of room so you can just slide in even if you show up late (the classes are upstairs). (3) And old people tend to be much friendlier than us stuck-up young folk. (4) I also like that it's a pretty quiet gym. There's no pool, so that's certainly lacking compared to other locations. But there is a racquetball court. If you're expecting Gold's Gym, you will be disappointed. If you need to be surrounded by people going on about "all kinnnnndsss of gains" (and/or gym bunnies who don't actually work out) to feel like it's worth your time, this may not be the gym for you. Even if the equipment isn't the latest, super-techie, new hotness, they're all well-maintained and clean, and do everything you need them to do. Also, it's like... 14 laps around the track to equal one mile or something. Which is largely useless, because I always lose count at about the 7th or 8th time around. The rehab-focus is expected to continue even with the changes, so I don't expect to see too many changes in the overall feel of the gym, but we'll have to wait and see to be sure. Also... because of the greater than usual number of older folk, I have seen some very confident older men confidently strutting about in their confidently confident birthday suits. I have seen things... Wrinkled things... I hope I'm that bold when I'm older... P. S. There's this trainer named Kelly. I'm not sure if she trains at any of the other Y's or if she's only at HLC, but Mother of Pearl, she is good. Her muscle conditioning classes have been amazing. That DOMS tho... Consistently taking her (or other trainers') classes should allow you to continue being the food-obsessed Yelper that you are.

Ohhhh YMCA. My…read moreprevious membership at another gym ended, and I didn't really love it. I figured I'd start running outside and save money, but I wasn't quite as motivated to do that as I thought. I searched for gyms near me and the obvious answer (Golds, Planet Fitness) were a hard pass. I'm too old and too married for the nightclub that is Golds gym. And I loathe PF so much, I've contemplated picketing outside. Enter the Y. I don't think I'd joined before cause I was young and cheap and looking for promos that waive the joining fee and obviously matching all my workout gear and wanting to be cute). But now, bring it on. This specific location is mainly a cardio rehab center for Integris. Read: senior citizens, it's awesome. Literally no one cares what you look like or what you're doing. Most people are over the age of 50. It's so cute to watch them come in and chat and walk the track. There are also a TON of classes, just like a regular Y. The spin class is tough, and I've loved it. They're also at alllll times of day, starting at 5:40am, perfect for the commuter like me. The rest of the equipment is minimal, but just enough. There's free weights, machines, ad area and a small turf track. Bikes, ellipticals, treadmills and even a Jacobs Ladder. The front desk is nice. And there are complimentary towels. I knocked a star for equipment cleanliness. ::sigh:: I actually mentioned it to the front desk today and now I probably am going to be blackballed but it's pretty gross. They have spray so you can wipe down your machine after you use it, but it looks like that's as far as the cleaning goes. At least on the machines I've used (cardio). The guy said the staff cleans them regularly so I'm sure he thinks I'm a huge biotch (I tried to approach it nicely!) but I use the same elliptical every time. And every time there are sweat stains along the bottom, and he same stuck on brown stuff. I used my towels to wipe the back and black grime came off. It's visible to the naked eye and it really grosses me out. Not enough to quit, but I really hope they'll clean a little better!

Broke down the anatomy of the intimidating reformers too, and needless to say I'm hooked on this restorative, balancing form of exercise. She mentioned that they offer a 2-week period of unlimited classes for only $75 so I may take her up on that in the near future, which is an amazing value for what you get. The workouts are usually more intense than the beginner series, and you use more resistance, which is something to work towards. Oh, and I loved that the class is inclusive and had a mix of guys and girlies, so everyone can be a Pilates Princess if they wanna be. The parking is kinda weird, though, but that's downtown for you.
