This place is dangerous for your wallet because there are way too many pretty things to buy! I've gone there twice now. On my first visit, I spent hours in there with my friend and neighbor. We were nearly there until closing time on a Sunday. We left with bags of food, alcohol, and with memberships that we signed up for with cashier Lucy's help. The second time I went, I mainly went to buy a gift card for the same friend and neighbor who accompanied me before as it was her birthday. When I arrived, I was addressed by a woman that worked there who looked at my frames and told me "Sorry we cannot take these frames they have no pictures in them? " When I explained to her that I had received an email that instructed me to drop them off I was told the same answer and tried to tell me my frames which are churchill classics and in excellent condition were not going to be worth it for them to sell. I told her if that was the case I should have been told that before I drove all the way to the other side of town to bring them in. She tried to tell me that the email I had was some generic email that they send to everyone to bring them in. I had even sent a photo. I told her that answer was unacceptable, and I told her you are one of the rudest people I have ever met before I left. I would not recommend this place to anyone based on my horrible experiences. Do not shop here or sell your things here if this is how they treat people. It cost money to drive from one side of town to the other these days and you don't need to waste your money.

This was my first visit to Midtown Reader to attend a discussion from Terah Shelton Harris for her…read morenewest book release. The store offered copies of the book for sale and Terah was gracious in signing and doing pics. The store also had a coffee shop upstairs which is a nice amenity. Terah was Target's 2025 author of the year, so it was a real treat that Midtown Reader was able to book her for an in person appearance. They have similar events with other authors and also feature different book clubs you can join with books they offer. This is definitely a great place to visit in town.

I ordered a slice of Key Lime and declined on the scoop of ice cream (I was taking it to go). This is one of the most delicious Key Lime pies I've ever had. It has the right amount of tartness. It has an upstairs sitting area which you can enjoy your slice of pie, have a coffee and read your next future book purchase.
