YT had was a sponsor the local public radio station I wanted to try my luck. I found a couple of addresses listed and I tried both. No such luck. What a major disappointment, especially because of all of the positive reviews. Tallahassee needs another locally-owned yarn store. The market is big enough to support two and I sincerely hope someone will take the plunge. The nearest yarn store is 30 miles or so away in Georgia. That's fine if I'm looking for something but obviously not a distance for a sit-and-knit or help on a project. Please, Tallahassee, get another store!!!

I'm not even sure how I found The Fuzzy Goat, a Facebook ad maybe, but I'm so glad that I did. They have a beautiful selection of yarn, especially featuring indie dyers, and a great selection of accessories and bags. Every time I look at their website, I find something else that I "need"! My favorite item is the "Box of Goats". It is a box of 31 surprises, one item to open for each day in December. It includes little skeins of yarn and a pattern to work on. Last year, I had so much fun opening up each gift. Besides the yarn, there were cute accessories, sweet treats, and a yummy recipe. And it showcased local shops in the area, which I thought was pretty cool. They also have a great Facebook page that highlights their store and a Facebook group where knitters and crocheters can chat about their different Fuzzy Goat projects. Their social media is on point and really gives you an idea of what it's like to be there in the shop! Check out The Fuzzy Goat, you won't be disappointed. Hopefully one day, I'll get out to Georgia and visit in person. For now, I'll be content to check out the website each week.

It has many facets and components but the gist is that its a center for goods to be donated, re-used, up-cycled and turned into art or whatever else you want it to be. If you are a teacher looking for supplies for ur students she's got EVERYTHING (not an exaggeration). I believe teachers get discounts but I'm not entirely sure and even if they don't everything is super cheap. If you are a person who likes to be inspired, check out the space she's got EVERYTHING, books, art supplies, jewelry, jewelry making supplies, stamps, paper, yarn, gadgets and gizmo's aplenty. I have not an artistic fiber in my being but just hanging out there makes me feel like I'm an artist. There are also classes and events, like fill a bag day (for $5 or $6), wine and art classes in the evening on Wednesdays and the one I frequent is the toddler art class on Tuesday (10:00 am-11:30 am). Carly reads a story to the kids- who ADORE her and she them- and then creates a super toddler friendly art project around that story. An example is the time she read an Eric Carlyle book and then led an art project using tissue paper. She gives each child so much loving individual attention and is so easy going. My daughter loves her and loves going to the sharing tree. She does an incredible job of fostering a strong sense of creative, conscious, community in Ole T-Town.

After almost a year, I decided to finally get my degree and license framed. I stopped by one day and discussed the many options with the person working in the framing area and decided to go with a custom frame so that both my degree and license could match. The estimated turn-around time was about 3 weeks. On the promised date, I happened to be shopping nearby and decided to call to check on my order. It was ready, however, no one notified me.... -- anyway -- I went in and retrieved my items and was very pleased with the outcome. Going with the custom frame option was a bit pricey, transparently, I paid ~$216 for both my degree and license.

To my amazement customers reached out to actually give my kids some cards and the store owner was absolutely amazing. I guess I got to the point in life when my kids are now teaching me stuff. OMG.
