This is a very nice, mid-range restaurant with exceptional service.
It's located on Harborne Road a few minutes walk from the 5 Ways roundabout and behind the big Morrisons supermarket. It's like a house. Well, it clearly was a house at some point but has been nicely converted. It's not immediately noticeable so keep your eyes peeled.
I popped in for a fairly quick lunch as I needed a break from my usual outlets nearby. What I found was super polite, friendly but non-pushy service. I asked for a nice window seat overlooking the back garden. Zero fuss. All every efficient and speedy.Exactly perfect and how I like it. A decent tip obviously followed.
Food wise there's the al a carte menu or a quick one, two or three course specials menu. The range of options isn't huge but most will find something to suit. I'd describe the food as a little wider than strictly Cambodian, broadly Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand all get a good look in. I ordered a very nice duck/rice combo from the specials and an ice-cream desert, but an ice-cream I'd never had before and really nice - can't remember the name of it now, sorry. With an OJ it came to around £11.50. All really nice and so pretty much bargain territory
Clientele wise it was a mix of office/business meeting and group social types, plus me the scruffy Davey no-mates! I sat perfectly contentedly reading my paper and eating. I'd have happily stayed longer but I had a meeting to get back for. Shame. Really nice place with decent, well-priced food and service fit for a VIP. Will definitely be back ... maybe tomorrow! read more
