What a very cool concept: some spirits and some art! There is available parking on site. The…read moredistillery has a full bar with seating and several rooms displaying local artworks. We went on a weekend when there was live music. They offer a very creative cocktail list utilizing their craft spirits. They also offer unique and varied public events such as caviar tasting, pasta making, comedy shows and art shows. I tried their peach vodka which made for a yummy ingredient in a creative cocktail. This is not your average distillery- it's a cultural experience with art to explore and cocktails to enjoy along with a calendar filled with events.

This trip was actually our first time visiting without him so we were a little lost about what to do next. LOL. We had gone to a cafe earlier in the day but it was still too early for dinner so we kept searching for something interesting to do. That's when my husband found Distillery of Modern Art. I wasn't really in the mood for drinking during the day so I wasn't sure at first but I'm so glad we went! We had never heard of a combination of a distillery and an art gallery before which immediately caught our attention. It looked like the space is used for a variety of events as well. Since we visited during Mother's Day weekend, there was a flower arrangement workshop happening in one of the rooms when we arrived. The bar area was very spacious with plenty of seating and since it was our first visit, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different liquors they produce. My husband sampled their rye whiskey, gin, and Amaro Peach. I'm usually not much of a gin fan but theirs was exceptionally smooth and I actually enjoyed it. Amaro tends to be quite bitter but their Amaro Peach had a really nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. I ordered the Ocean Eyes cocktail which features their Amaro Peach and it was excellent. The bartender also made his own special version of a classic cocktail for my husband (I forgot the name!) and he really enjoyed it. What stood out most was how friendly and passionate the bartender was. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and honestly, he made the experience even more enjoyable for us. We had such a great visit that my husband ended up bringing home bottles of their gin and Amaro Peach. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Atlanta!

She knew the menu and was able to make great recommendations. Great reviews on the flavor of the food all around. The salmon dish was said to be excellent. Looked like the Chicken Fried Chicken was very good as well. My wife really liked her salad and the sauce for the Grilled Spanish Octopus had a great taste, but the Octopus was a bit overcooked. I had the Shrimp and Grits, which were excellent. The fresh off the cob corn was a twist I hadn't experienced before and it was a great addition. The shrimp was fully shelled, so I wasn't digging around and pulling off tails. The sauce, chipotle butter was insane, I could have had a cup of it and wanted more. I also got a side of the fried Brussels, great move by me. Great place!

Appetizers were very good. She didn't care for the shrimp (a bit spicy, so we took it home for tomorrow's lunch. While the sandwich was good, it didn't seem like an authentic Cuban. Pulled pork filling. I took half of it and the mac&cheese home. Beer was very good; I hadn't heard of it before. It's from Milwaukee. Went to Laylo after for dessert/ $90 with tax and tip. It's a Resy restaurant, so I paid with Amex plat to get the credit. Excellent server.
