Fish and chips were delicious - nice piece of cod in a light and crispy batter. I enjoyed another Aperol Spritz. Service was very friendly.

Mostly nice place to dine, have only sat outdoors though which is quite pleasant if the weather is good. Its a good place to visit after a hike around Howth head, a walk along the pier or just to chill. I had sweet potato fries which were fine and seafood chowder which whilst flavoursome lacked much ingredients and was little more than a bowl of cream.

Loving the vibe so far! Good music. And the servers are lovely. They all smile and it feels genuine. I started my meal with the fried calamari. The portion is small, but it tasted so fresh and so yummy! It made want more of the same. So it's a good starter! They let me know that they'll be having live music later, but it's 9 pm so I may have arrived too early. Around 10 pm they gave me a bingo card, I don't drink typically, but I'm competitive and I like music, so I'll play. Plus the first game is free! And I won!!!! I'm lucky in Ireland! I got a pint of Guinness! I don't know if this is a regular thing or if it was accidental, but they reset my silverware between the starter and the main course. I had the battered scampi. Thankfully this dish came with a nice fresh salad. I think I overdid it with fried food. The scampi was big and crunchy. Not as good as the calamari thought. The fries were ok, I add salt and pepper because I'm used to over-seasoned fries in the US. I think the UK is healthier in their use of salt.

Stopped in for the quickest pint ever - had a train coming in 15 mins and wanted to sneak one more in. It's located essentially underneath the train station so couldn't beat the location. Was exactly what I wanted, cool casual vibes

Great name for a pub. Lots of food choices- we ordered drinks here, so I can't comment on the taste of the food but it looked like good value for money. Toilets were nice and clean. Service was friendly. Two 1/2 pints cost 6 euro. So not cheap- but not crazy expensive either.

Picking Howth as the venue for a day trip, our first stop was The Bloody Stream, conveniently located underneath the Dart station. We seated ourselves at the bar and started off gently, basically ignoring the convivial atmosphere and fine seafood restaurant and going straight for pints. A little later on, we took our drinks out to the covered beer garden/smoking area, where we met a lovely dog who could catch beer mats in his mouth. I'm not sure if this is the typical Bloody Stream experience, but we certainly enjoyed it...

This was my first time visiting Ireland. We took a day to go to Howth, and ate at The Bloody Stream. I had the Seafood Platter for one and it was delicious. My partner got the seafood chowder and the warm goat cheese salad. The chowder was amazing! The warm goat cheese salad had onions on it, but that wasn't advertised. He had to send it back, and when it was remade it came out without the balsamic glaze on it. He did not ask for it because the service was slow and it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to come by. Service was very slow, and it took another 15 minutes to get our bill. I would definitely recommend, but be prepared to stay a while.

We'd just finished an epic walk around Howth Head. The long one. The Big Kehuna! And our legs were about to fall off. We needed to rest, warm up and have some refreshments. Cue The Bloody Stream. There was a lovely warm fire going and as luck would have it, there was a barrel with four highstools around it waiting to be sat at. On a cold winters day, this was a excellent find for us weary hikers. Just what we needed. Warming up with some minerals in hand, we regaled ourselves of the adventure we just had around the wilds of Howth. But this was not my first time here in The Bloody Stream. We had stopped off before after the same said hike the summer before. On that occasion it was a lovely picnic table out in the sun that we recovered at. And on another occasion with a girlfriend of mine, we caught up with a good natter one Saturday night while we listened to some great acoustic covers played by a guy on a guitar. Recommended. And it's right under the Dart station so you've no excuse ;)

The food was mediocre and the servings were very small. The server came to the table like twice. Don't come here

Poor service combined with pedestrian food made this one of our lowest rated restaurants while in Ireland.

Nice place. Good food, music and beer. What more can you ask for! Right under the train station as you get off the DART.

My top two observations are: 1) They serve one of the creamiest Guinness I've had to date, and 2) The place is always full of locals, but quite a few tourists pop their heads in too. I'm not sure what is meant when one says one felt out of place, or that the old men were made uncomfortable by one's outfit. Really, no one here gives a rat's ass how you're dressed or where you're from. They're busy watching darts or horse racing or whatever else on the televisions. Basically, if you're there, you're there, so you're welcome to be there! The locals here keep to themselves, in the sense that they've got conversations going (as one does with one's friends), but they don't give off any sort of exclusionary vibe. The barman treated me no differently than any other person. Really, before I'd finished my first pint I had already come to feel like it was my new favourite neighbourhood bar. If only that were indeed my neighbourhood! Food can be ordered at the bar. They offer selections from the Waterside menu as well as a small selection from the El Paso menu (two neighbouring restaurants). In addition, they offer "bar snacks" from 4PM to 7PM, along the lines of chili, wings, chowder, etcetera. We arrived at about 2:30PM and so had the fish and chips (Waterside) and were really pleased with it. Chips were nice and crispy, fish was big and not too greasy. It came served with a little salad with a quite flavourful dressing, an impressively concocted tartar sauce, and the compulsory mushed peas. Come one, come all, and make yourselves at home.

Walked in the cliff for about two hours amid hellish gusts of storm Ashley and had to seek shelter here for some hot beverage and food. Opted to sit outside and the rattling of the outside booth could be a bit concerning, but the structure held amid the gusts. Took the servers a bit of time to come to me for order, but in general very friendly and attentive service. Mussels: ordered it with the white wine and garlic sauce. Mussels tasted good overall, a bit small in size individually, but large in quantity, very generous portion size for the price. Only one or two showing a slight fishy taste. The sauce was done very well, thick enough to stick with the mussels and provide a mouthful of flavor, but not overly sticky as to become too waxy and oily. Strongly recommend to use as dipping sauce for fries, crisps, or bread. Black tea: standard. Fries: good, very crispy outside with warm and mash inside. Garlic bread: ordered this to finish the tasty sauce of the mussels. Crispy and hot, but wish it had more buttery and garlic flavor. Overall: 4-4.5 stars. A very necessary resting and recuperation station for anyone walking the Howth Cliff Trail. Good food and good service.
