I also appreciated the fact that a waiter was able to adjust tables to seat our large party and everyone that waited on us was very kind. A few of the better bottles showed prices by the glass, €15 and up. Sorely tempted to try one, but we had a long day ahead. Normally, an $18 glass of whiskey is just fine with me, but as I had moderated my intake, I had found myself less able to drink all day. Plus, it was about 10 am. Great service from a young bartender, who assured me NO hour was too early to drink in Ireland. Pro tip: Fly into Dublin Airport, skip that town, and head to Houth. Seafood galore, and The Abbey. Bonus review: Five minutes away is Ann's Ice Cream just off the Irish Sea. Worth it for the view. With the pan fried sole, the potatoes and vegetables were delicious. We sat on the enclosed patio and there were no barriers for a wheelchair to enter, and different seating areas. To get into the actual restaurant there is about a 3 inch step but once inside there is a wheelchair accessible bathroom on the ground floor. Since I'm ambulatory, I didn't ask to see if they had a ramp, a simple ramp would easily make that 3 inch step doable for a chair. we didn't have the calamari, but the table next to us did and it looked delicious, if we were to go back, we would probably get the calamari and fish and chips.
